  1. I was replying in regards to a criminal record in Thailand. Those with criminal records overseas can get visas and extensions themselves. No checks. No need for agents. I know of a couple of expats who have been in prison in their native countries that nowcreside legally in Thsiland.
  2. Busy body you say? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Asking for a visa agent with no other info is inane. Is it a Thai visa he needs for himself? A visa for his wife/partner to travel? In answer to his second post, does he need financial assistance? Help with residence confirmation? TM30? Just help with documents? Different agents in different places offer different services.
  3. He's already said, on a previous thread, his friend was working there many years ago.
  4. No, you cannot. Unless you teach in a school not governed by OBEC, which are few and far between.
  5. The issue here, I believe, is teaching legally. I have pointed out how it needs to be done. You say you have a TESOL degree. That will suffice. I believe the minimum level of degree is TESOL is MA.
  6. The rest of the country is no different to Bangkok. If the school is governed by OBEC, a teaching licence or waiver is needed to get a work permit. To get one you need a degree. State schools and most private, non international schools, are governed by OBEC. A TESOL alone will get you nowhere.
  7. I don't post bilge. You may think I do, but I don't. I'd like to see some examples of what you think is " often post bilge". Thanks.
  8. You appear to have confused me with someone else.
  9. I can hear your cornermen shouting. " Chomper, Chomper, twist, turn, you've got to get off the ropes"
  10. That's the biggest contradiction you've ever posted. You never acknowledge other's opinions. It's always "link please".
  11. So, as I said, if right wingers are the ones blaming immigrants..........
  12. No. You did that. You said extreme right wingers blame immigrants. You did not differentiate. Now that you are just proves a point.
  13. If those concerned with immigration are all extreme right wing, Labour won't get a look in at the next general election. Tories will sweep the board. Reform UK will also have their best ever results.
  14. Had you continued to pay after you retired by way if voluntary contributors, you'd have got more. You likely knew living in Thailand would freeze your pension prior to settling here. It was your choice. They don't want your votes. They are giving you the option to vote if you want to.
  15. A large percentage of the public are concerned about immigration. They blame it for the problems with NHS, housing crisis, education and the economy.
  16. But a pension none the less. You can only get out what you put in. You could have paid voluntary payments to increase your entitlement. I guess you didn't.
  17. You suggested there was no demand for foreign teachers in Isaan other than for teaching English. My experience tells me different.
  18. Maybe the agency you worked for. Not all should tarred with the same brush.
  19. An agent cannot help if you are not old enough. I doubt they can help if you've previously been deported either. A criminal record in Thailand? I doubt that either. Can't prove your residence? Unlikely. Don't have 800k or are lazy? Most likely.
  20. So, again I ask, what help do you need?
  21. I agree with some of your points. There has to be some sort of standard. Thai authorities chose a university degree. TEFL, is not great if achieved in Thailand. Many "schools" that offer the course are only in it for the money and the training is lax at best.
  22. No. It means there are ways around it. Fake degrees for example.
