  1. I wish she could give my Mrs some lessons on haggling - she's useless!
  2. They have aircon units with HEPA filters now and that would be the way to go for me
  3. Nobody can answer your question as everything depends on the individual IO on the day. So my advice is update both books and go and ask their advice but make sure they know you have options (extension etc) or they may see it as an opportunity for an unofficial fine. My friend was in exactly the same boat when applying for his first retirement extension and he was told he would have to pay 18,000 baht to fix it, which he did because he thought he would have to leave and start again. He was only days short of the full 3 months and could have simply extended his non O for 1900 baht. He was married by the way but the IO had convinced him to apply for retirement instead of marriage extension.
  4. Yes and I believe bars close at 2am ????
  5. Any one you like. Currently all oil trade is completed in US$ which is a huge benefit to the US economy.
  6. Simply because if your child is away in a foreign country the parents will feel more vulnerable and have less control so more likely to just pay up
  7. Port Out and Starboard Home. It was written on the baggage trunks of the richest cruise passengers. The view was best on the port side leaving and best on the starboard side when returning. Hence these passengers became known as POSH ????
  8. If you want to fly then just purchase a fake onward ticket, costs about $10. The rules for re-entering on a visa-exempt state you must show 20,000 in Thai cash so whether the IO accepts your Thai banking app balance is up to him/her. I've never been asked to show the money or ticket at immigration in 20 years but I've only ever done 2 land border bounces. Although I have had to show the onward ticket to airlines when coming on a one way ticket - sometimes, not always, as it depends on the agent checking you in.
  9. That's a question for your local immigration office as they make up the rules and not the online reporting system.
  10. Requirements will always vary slightly from office to office but in my city my wife only registers me as staying at her house when I return from a trip abroad. She never does it when we've been out of the district and they seem happy with that.
  11. We spent new year in Bangkok and my Thai mother in law religiously wore her mask all the time, nobody else did. When we returned to central Thailand she didn't feel well and tested positive. Fortunately she only had mild symptoms for a few days but the mask wearing was obviously no help. Nobody else tested positive.
  12. Joe, two people have told me you only get 30 day a land entry so is this not true?
