  1. There used to be a rule of 3 visa-exempt entries by air every 6 months and you can still see this published on some Embassy websites.
  2. or spreading it. They claim it stops you getting seriously ill but I've not seen the evidence to prove that.
  3. Well you've made this hard work for your son as he could have entered Thailand using his expired Thai passport. You cannot travel on an expired passport but you can use it to prove your citizenship when arriving. My wife and son have both entered Thailand on expired passports and my son has also entered the UK on his expired UK passport. Now he will have to exit Thailand and re-enter using his new Thai passport. However, he can get an extension of stay base on being a Thai citizen - I think it's 12 months.
  4. All disabled people and all travellers over 70 years of age and their travelling party. You can also buy the fast track service.
  5. My Mother had the Moderna bivalent booster last Sep 16th and next day she had a blood clot that caused a stroke and a massive brain bleed (the ER doctors description). She never recovered and died 3 months later. You need to look very closely at the risk benefit of vaccines. If you are in good health then the risk from a side affect of a vaccine is greater than the risk of contracting the virus.
  6. I doubt travel insurance would have paid. Did he have the correct licence and IDP, was he wearing a helmet, and was he intoxicated? Any of these would negate cover.
  7. We spent the New Year in Bangkok and my Mother in-law diligently wore her mask everywhere we went but on our return home to Nakhon Sawan she was the only one who tested positive. None of us wore masks. She's 78 years old and not particularly in good health but didn't get ill, just a mild headache. She's had 2 jabs. Masks are ineffective at protecting you from contracting the virus but they can help stop you spreading it.
  8. His brain was at the airport where many farangs leave their's too ????
  9. I cancelled a booking with Agoda and the auto reply said no refund as payment wasn't made. I happened to notice on my BKK Bank account that payment had actually been taken the day before so I contacted customer services and they say a refund will be make upto 30 days from cancellation - day 14 now and still waiting!
  10. Rome and Vienna 2018 and 2019 so yes must be recent.
  11. Yes, our bill has nearly double compared to last month. Now it always increases in April but not double and our friends, family and neighbours are reporting the same ????
  12. There isn't a farang word to describe these revered Buddhist councilors and fortuneteller is something of a misnomer as they do not foretell the future but try and influence someones future by counselling them. They also pray to Buddha on their clients behalf in an attempt to change their fortunes for the better. They do not charge a fee but clients make a donation of goods or money for successful services rendered so if she wasn't good at her job she wouldn't get paid. Buddhism is steeped in superstition and even the government have public buildings exorcised of spirits by these Buddhist councilors (fortunetellers).
  13. Flights are still much higher than pre-Covid so that may be taking its toll on numbers. I had to pay tourism tax in Rome and Vienna and it was collected by the hotel on check in.
  14. If that is your total time in Thailand in the last year then you have nothing to worry about but you could be asked for an onward ticket within the initial 30 days because that is the official rule for visa-exempt entries, your airline may ask also, so buy two cheap flights you can cancel for free or buy two fake tickets (cost about $10, there are many websites).
  15. I got a non O e-visa based on marriage to Thai citizen last month and there is no requirement for insurance. I was wondering on what basis your wife was applying for a non O? The only visas I know that require insurance are OA and OX. A tourist (TR) visa is no more complicated than a non O and neither require insurance. If she wants more than the 90 days (60 + 30) that a TR visa allows you can always send her on a border bounce with a travel agency that specialize in that service - they organize everything.
  16. I think I remember you dancing on the stage. My friend tucked 20 baht in your Y fronts and I complained that you didn't have a number on your wrist ???? Only joking. I was a bit wild when young but never upset any locals or behaved out of hand as it was all kept within context of the environment we were in. Now I think a walk around the park in the evening is fun ????
  17. TAT and other bodies were pushing for it to be extended until the end of the year so a change of leadership could listen to their requests.
  18. The way the scam works is they inform the target that there has been suspicious activity on their account and the bank want him to transfer funds to a safe secure account while they investigate. It's become a worldwide common scam. UK banks will not let you transfer large sums now without confirming why and they do block transfers.
  19. He can buy a fake onward 30 day ticket for $10 to keep the airline happy
  20. It will be too little too late and the laws that are passed will not be enforced ????
  21. You qualify for your state pension when you reach 66 years old and not 64. You need to contact the overseas pension centre by email. https://www.gov.uk/international-pension-centre
  22. OP are you the ex boyfriend? ????
  23. You are not importing fruit but diseases and pests that are not indigenous to the Australian continent and that's why they are so strict.
  24. Like most countries Thailand has the 6 month passport validity rule but immigration rarely apply it. However airlines do, so check with the airline for a definitive answer. I saw on another forum that the 6 month rule does not apply to Visa on Arrival and these tourists only need 30 days past their return date. The guy posted a screen shot of the rule.
