  1. No, they actually are vulnerable not just feeling vulnerable as you suggest, and by now everyone understands that vulnerability to Covid also increases with age. ("However if for some misguided reason you actually WANT to wear a mask or if perhaps you really do feel vulnerable - knock yourself out!"). So they should all 'knock themselves out' should they? Whatever that means! See Lorry's post above for more 'misguided reasons' to continue to wear a mask in certain situations. And further evidence for this is in the UK: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51768274 I am in my 70th year on Earth so it seems not 'misguided' but COMMON SENSE to me to continue to wear a mask in crowded places inside here in the UK, and I will continue to do so in crowded places inside and outside (night markets, etc) in Thailand when I return just as I did during my last 6 months there. And during that time, I never wore a mask outside, which is OTT, but, like many where I stay in Thailand, had it around my neck on a leash to wear as required. This, thanks to Thailand, has become absolutely no hassle for me and I fail to understand why people like yourself make such a big deal about wearing a mask, and even look down on and seek to intimidate those who do. P.S: 'Planet Condescension'.
  2. "TPN media notes that private businesses and events have the ability and right to make mask wearing at their establishments and venues required, however."

  4. Well I think the cycling a r s e h o l e would feel quite at home on the football/soccer pitch with what the players get away with today with some fouls considered as 'good' fouls.
  5. No not the same as 'drink responsibly'! You are forgetting to mention the 'Big C'! Not the supermarket but 'CANCER'! Smoking kills on a massive scale, not to mention it's negative, and potentially deadly effect on others through passive smoking.
  6. What kind of mentality allows mass shootings of their kids eh? And, unlike the Thais, they are supposed to be educated.
  7. Yep, when I was writing about weed 'opening your mind', this is so much more true of LSD. It was the 1st drug I ever tried and Ive never been the same since...555. But, as with you, in a good way. I only took it about 6 times and, ironically, the drug itself gave me the insight that I was messing with my sanity, so I stopped. Never regretted taking it though, and it should be compulsory for psychiatrists who would then truly know what they are dealing with.
  8. So you have researched this with a nationwide scientific study have you? P.S: The whole country is f***** up...555.
  9. But keep it away from young teenagers whose brains are still developing. I used to support tenants in the UK with mental health problems, 2 of whom were lads in their early Twenties. They both had parents of the Sixties Hippy generation who, believing it harmless, had allowed them and their mates to regularly smoke (bong parties etc.) in their homes from a very young age. These two lads had consequently developed psychosis and schizophrenic symptoms. Consequently they will require antipsychotic medication, medical, welfare and social support and will probably never be able to work for the rest of their lives. A tragic waste of their lives. I was informed that, with the ever increasing THC levels in the Cannabis hybrids being grown, they were not isolated cases and it was an increasing problem acknowledged by psychiatry. I dont think it is a question of 'weak minds' but I think those who are 'highly strung' should avoid any drugs that make them higher. The clue is in the word 'highly'. I personally stopped smoking it many years ago after concluding that, similar to an alcohol hangover, for the next day or two after smoking, it interfered too much in my common sense practical thinking and functioning. I believe that every drug has it's pay back. I acknowledge though, that weed is great for enhancing philosophical, creative, imaginative and artistic thinking and abilities, and, more importantly, it can help break through one's country's social and cultural conditioning/programming and help you, if you so wish, to observe and understand the World more objectively. Thais will be OK though, as they dont have any common sense practical thinking to f*** up...555.
  10. Covid restrictions excepted, the ban was never applied in hotels anyway. At least not in any hotels that I stayed at.
  11. Very informative, /thank you. So the Laos visa is 2k thb now. Did you happen to notice how much it is in $? It used to be cheaper.
  12. But, without all that paperwork to shuffle and check over and over at immigration offices all over Thailand, what would all those IO's who have purchased their jobs for life do? And how would those officials selling the jobs for life manage with such a drastic cut in their income?
  13. In Thailand 'Cheers' beer are the champions of this. Their 'large' 610ml bottles look bigger than all their competitors which contain more beer; even Beer Archa, the only beer to still contain 640ml.
  14. Agree totally. Never understood Nationalism! One's nationality (and religion) is purely an accident of birth.
  15. What gets me are the bakeries, where people have to queue because every item (cake, etc.) bought is individually wrapped and sellotaped in plastic before further plastic bagging. Utter madness and so unnecessary! Many are Japanese chains which, never able to remember their name, I pronounce 'Kamikaze'. which is quite apt really given the behaviour of the Human Race and its future!
  16. Most Thais dont seem to have any aesthetic sense (I wonder if this evolves with rational thought) and are quite content to live in squalor....and have relationships with fat, ugly, wrinkly old men (Thank god...555).
  17. Don Muang has the reputation of having more than its fair share of illegitimate IOs...????.
  18. Im sure that his 'Private' pension is more than adequate to finance the rest of his days.
  19. Yes, future extensions based on marriage will be much more hassle than an 'O' based on retirement, especially if the immigration office likes to make it as difficult as possible for you as some take delight in doing.
  20. Must be the funniest reporting of the year......????????????
