  1. Jeez! What a mindset! Most people park the way that is most convenient to them without considering the SLIGHTLY increased risk when leaving the space into oncoming traffic. It is only the law that defines it as wrong!
  2. Never mind the windows! Instinct and common sense would be to open the doors.
  3. Glad to hear there is some encouragement for punctuality in this country. My Thai girlfriend is always late for everything and doesnt seem to care about it. The 4 kids in her charge are routinely late for (state) school and there never seems to be any come back. Is this a private or state school?
  4. This is the beauty of nuclear weapons as a deterrent. It is insanity to use them on another nuclear-armed enemy because you know you will get the same in return and probably more. To use them is suicide, plain and simple.
  5. I actually understand the Thai logic in this. You can only get a year's bank statement up to the previous day to renewal, so in theory you could withdraw money from an ATM taking you below 800k on the morning of renewal without immigration knowing. By insisting on seeing a bank book transaction on the account the same day they know for sure that there is 800k in the bank at the time of extension renewal. Mind you an ATM withdrawal can still be made after the bank book update without it showing in the bank book. So OK, you are right it is illogical...555. Also after extension renewal you can go and withdraw as much as you like but in both instances you would not be able to renew the following year.
  6. His supporters obviously dont!
  7. I wished to delete my post but there is no way provided by Aseanow to do this....Only to edit!
  8. I just googled it and found it. I have asked on this website's chat facility for a quote for delivery to Thailand: https://www.shopping-d.com/products/beerlao-ipa-carton-330ml-bottle-per-box-of-24-bottles
  9. Is IPA a new addition to the beer Lao range, or are you referring to normal Beer Lao or Beer Lao Gold?
  10. Dont split hairs. The inference is clear and well justified.
  11. As someone commented in the article; if black she'd have been shot!
  12. Out of the frying pan............................
  13. Fortunately this has, I believe, largely changed to frozen ingredients; i.e., cheaper from Makro and the like. Storage and transportation is also cleaner and easier for the sellers. My missus has never bought seafood from the markets and warned me years ago about the commonplace use of formalin there. Just recently I was reminded of this when buying cooked seafood on 2 different occasions; bbq scallops (Coquille St Jaques) and the griddled squid roe which is very popular now. Both tasted good and fresh and were cooked well but left me with a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. I wondered if this was due to formalin.
  14. If all seats were full on take off, they must have been in the toilet. It probably just boils down to safety on landing with no seat belt. But this would still apply when returning to Phuket. So they might just as well have continued to BKK.
  15. "Sir, could you kindly return to the toilet and keep very quiet please"..... "OK, if you must f a r t make sure you let them go quietly."
  16. Ive never had a problem with them.
  17. Sorry to hear that.....Yes the road to the airport is very convoluted and rough. Treat yourself to a taxi next time.
  18. I was there recently for 3 weeks and did not notice any passing by when out and about.
  19. Several in 'Walking Street' area which is the riverside area near the clock. Music far too loud but if you sit at the rear overlooking the river it is quieter........and darker. And there are one or two reataurant/bars really close to the hospital in Adulyatharn Road. All of these host mostly Thais as not too many farang in NKP.
  20. and to do something to justify their own jobs.
  21. That is just what the Thai Government and 'ruling class' want. If you dont understand English it is very difficult to learn objectively about the outside World and other countries' values such as Democracy, human rights, worker's rights, minimum wages, animal welfare, the environmental crisis, etc. Nor can they learn much about their own country's shortcomings. Most Thais cannot see past the end of their nationalistic noses. But hey! maybe they are better off like this.
