  1. I dont know if it was a single or joint account or accounts.
  2. I have no idea. I am just posting what I was told. I would surmise that when an account is opened with a passport the respective embassy could be informed in the same way immigration is informed of our location by TM30. The embassy could then contact the bank/s directly when informed of our demise. Our embassies would have a vested interest in tracking our overseas finances for tax purposes. Not sure what info. a pink ID discloses but I would think that the bank has your nationality.
  3. Where exactly is this bend? anyone know? Its OK, I found Ban Klang on a map.
  4. That is Oz where u and your father are native. This is Thailand where you are a foreigner and different rules apply. A Brit friend died last year in Udon Thani and very shortly afterwards his long-term girlfriend could not access his/their account/s. She was told that when a foreigner dies and the police are informed they immediately inform the foreigner's embassy and all their bank accounts are immediately locked.
  5. Thats the problem with getting 'stoned' or whatever the term for getting high is these days, everyone drifts off on their own train of thought tangent using a language that no-one else understands.....555.
  6. Brexit plus Callous inept elitist Public school controlled Conservative party 12 year austerity and other bad policies who have been in power too long. ...........And of course the sheep; the dumb-a r s e d media controlled suckers who keep voting for them.
  7. Thank you for your replies but I am not asking about the practical requirement of space for stamps. I am asking about the Thai Immigration's official requirement to have at least 2 blank pages in your passport on entry to Thailand. Would they refuse entry if I only have one blank page as I think there is a rule that you must have at least two? Or am I mistaken?
  8. My passport is filling up. Planning ahead, I believe that 2 blank pages are required on airport entry. Is this correct please? And is it also required for a land border entry visa exempt or with a multiple entry visa please?
  9. Not that I'd be bringing in fruit or anything else illegal,, but In 16 years I have never been stopped by customs entering Thailand at Swampy.
  10. From the hand positions the one with the willy is obviously gay....or possibly an Egyptian belly dancer...555.
  11. CC not required these days. In fact in 16 years I dont recall being asked for one.
  12. No great loss as their exchange rates were a total rip-off.
  13. If you are a swine you deserved it...555.
  14. They are individualistic when it comes to driving; just point their ... car or motorbike in the direction they want to go and go, with zero consideration for others and the rules of the road. Same when parking; double park, triple park, completely block in other motorbikes. They dont give a [deleted] about others!
  15. I wanted to click the 'confused' emoji for this post but, along with 'sad', both negative emojis have been removed! Why? Must we only respond positively to posts on Aseanow??? This smacks of censorship and authoritarianism! Is Prayut an Aseanow shareholder?
  16. Im not being critical, just theorising on how the distance could be 15k.
  17. The 1st leg would have been really easy; virtually just drifting down with the current, but swimming back would have been hard work against the flow. I suspect that to please the crowds he swam downstream close to the Thai shore then maybe crossed the river directly just north of the sandbank, where it is quite wide, and then downstream close to the Laos shore for the spectators there. If a similar route on return this could add the distance to make it a 15k swim.
  18. From your own link: The first thing to know (which might put you somewhat at ease) is that these card readers do not store any of your details on the device itself. Whenever you slip in your card or punch in your PIN, you can rest assured knowing that the reader isn't holding onto any of that. This is good news for those worried about mobile online banking. Basically, by requiring a card reader for certain actions, you're forced to carry that card reader around with you if you ever want to perform those actions while on the go. Some card readers are universal, meaning they can read and generate codes for any EMV card, as long as the card is compatible with the reader's online bank. So in that sense, you could use someone else's card reader when necessary, and their reader wouldn't store anything about your account or card.
  19. U r right I could be a scammer but lets use a bit of common sense here. Check my profile, Im a platinum member been posting on here for years. But I really dont give a s h i t. If no-one wants them they will go in the bin.
  20. I am just trying to help out after reading on here last year that someone's card reader had expired and they couldnt get a new one from their UK bank. Others posted similarly. I return to the UK every summer, and after switching banks a few times, which is quite lucrative in the UK, I have 3 card readers to spare. No one will be asked to provide me with their bank details.
