  1. I did some research and found this.

    "A good and cheap trip is to get the river taxis that go up and down the river for less than 20 baht a head. Most people get on at Saphan Taksin BTS station (on the river) and go up towards the Grand Palace or Banglampu."

    This sounds a lot better then paying 900 baht a head for a dinner cruise. We want to see the Grand Palace anyway and we're cheap charlies.

    they will not charge for 3 year old kid.

    i recommend you dinner cruse because you wanted to do tourist thing.

    upto you if you want to take taxi boat go for it. :)

    cheers

  2. Whistleblower, you thought wrong.

    Babuhavas. I do not understand why Jamesons are charging so much for heineken! That is very strange and not the way to gain new customers. O'Reillys do some good specials and have a great happy hour. Everynight there is a beer promotion so get down there and try that pub.

    I used to be a fan of Mollys until they changed management and now I find O'Reillys to be good. Jamesons is to far away for me, plus I do not like the decor.

    ya its crazy price in jamesons now,heineken and tiger 100++/160++,thats promotion price all other beers have same price throughout the day no happy hours for other drinks.

    Guinness – 220++

    Kilkenny – 220++

    Black & Tan – 220++

    Half & Half – 220++

    John Smiths – 220++

    Stella Artois – 220++

    Strongbow Cider – 220++

    you will be surprised to know how much they charge for a bottle of MEGNER PEAR or APPLE(FLAVOUR) BEER its 299++

    forget about getting new customers,even the regulars don't like to go there.

  3. Thai's in general do not like Indian's... they find them rude, aggressive, arrogant, and smelly... and Thai's are allowed to say that without it beig frowned upon like would happen in most of our home countries...

    You also need to consider that for Thai's in general, dark skin equates to working outdoors, which equates to being poor and poorly educated... as was the case in England a couple of hundred years ago, and is why the English and French upper classes all wore makeup and powdered faces... It only changed when a tan started to indicate affluence that allowed you to travel to warmer climes for vacations...

    Thai's get their religion from Buddah, not India, and their lanuage is their own, they are very nationalistic... so these aren't any reason to treat Indians better than their perceived station...

    I know some girls who are in love with their 'chocolate man' British Indians, but when I have been out with Indian workmates can not even get my good friends to make conversation with them... and these are professional men...

    You might be able meet a good girl by meeting a bad girl first, getting her to introduce you to some 'good' friends, and taking it from there... I think buy the time you trawl through all of the scammers on Internet dating sites, you will be too old to know what the Internet is, and start calling it the wireless...

    Cheers,

    Daewoo

    buddah;s real name was sidhartha he was from north east part of india,thai language have lot of words from sanskrit.

  4. Which pub are you talking about?

    O'Reillys has a new manager but prices are the same. Quality of food and service is getting better!

    Duke in boots has been sold to new people, so they could of put the prices up. But I don't think that pub has any regulars.

    Jamesons is so far out the way and also I can't imagine it have any regulars.

    Mollys has new manager and I think new owners or partners. I have not been in for a few months so don't k ow if they have put there prices up. I would be suprised if heineken happy hour is 100++ per pint.

    Which one could it be. I also noticed in an older post of yours that you were looking for a change of pub last year.

    ya i am talking about jameson's,

    lot of regulars there,you must go between 6-8pm.

    ya you are right i am looking for new place since months but always end up in same pub.

  5. Of course i was joking.

    Silly people.

    Still think he's cute though.

    Got more serious things on my mind - like I am making lasagne for friends tonight and there is an <deleted> blizzard falling outside and I need to get to the shops.... Oh, dear!!

    can you cook?

  6. :)

    I guess you're talking about Molly's.

    Silom isn't that good for pubs really. Welington's O'reilly's etc. I don't like the atmosphere there.

    It all depends what you want from a pub - good social links, cheap drinks, friendly bar staff etc

    Soi 8 is probably the cheapest in town for happy hour - opening till 7pm everyday plus Tiger is on tap at 99 Baht all day everyday.

    The Crossbar on soi 23 Suk has Chang happy hour all day and Guiness two for one = 120 Baht a pint up till 7pm.

    Macanello

    ya true silom don't have much options for pubs,i am just looking for social links and cheap drinks.i wont mind going sukumvit also,i think i will switch to crossbar now

  7. Dear members

    i was regular at my local pub before they increased the prices,i don't want to mention name but its on silom road.

    now a pint on heineken is 100++ in happy hours which is till 7(but i usually go there after work so not important to me)

    and after 7 its 160++

    also the food prices are up bye 20%.

    so now i am looking for new pub which can offer happy hours till 8,or may be better price than this.
