  1. I will be using Emirates for the first time later this month, Bangkok-Dubai-Birmingham UK.

Has anyone used this route and does the connection to Birmingham depart from the same terminal in Dubai or is it necessary to change between terminals.

    Any info much appreciated,

    Cheers

  2. I have used Paypal dozens of times and never had any disputes with them.

As I understand the OP he returned the item by Thai Post and AusPost is saying they never received it to return to the seller and that is why there is no refund.

It seems that the onus is on ThaiPost to prove they have 'delivered' it to AusPost.

If they cannot then surely the claim is with ThaiPost to be settled under their terms and conditions such as any limit of liabiltiy

  3. M-Pass available at KTB. Seems crazy that you need both M Pass and Easy Pass if you want to drive into Bangkok. Had M pass for over 6 months now, and never had an issue using it. Only annoying thing is it does not show the credit balance you have when you pass through, it just shows the amount being charged.

But they send you an SMS when your balance is low so you can go to the bank and top up oy at the ATM.

  4. Why not install speed limiters in vans, buses, pick-ups, trucks ?

Most speed limiters can be isolated by even the simplest mechanic.

Unless there is a rigorous enforcement by roadside checking, the vans would continue to speed and only reinstate the speed limiter at times of annual check.

  5. Last year I applied for a business visa for China, had all my documentation, invitation letter and proof of previous visits. Handed in documents after 30 minutes waiting in the queue, and after five minutes I was informed I could pick the visa up next afternoon, no problems.

There must have been something out of the ordinary to complicate the OP's application; I found it very simple and straightforward if you have the documents.

  6. Having lived on several occasions in Manila, whilst having my home base in Bangkok, I do not agree.

Traffic is far worse in Manila where jams can last for hours.

The food is very bland with little spice

American foods are available but expensive.

The girls may be fun in bed but soon start to demand more and more cash and gifts.

Ph good for a vacation but not where I would choose to live.

  7. "Of course Thailand is concerned about their guest's funds in the banks. People who have little to no funds are a liability for the country when it comes to public hospital medical expenses, incarceration expenses, crime concerns, etc."

I have a pension to support my retirement visa and keep almost nothing in my Thailand account.

My money is kept off shore and I would not be providing that information for sure.

  8. I believe in a European Economic Community, as was set up by the Treaty of Rome in 1950.

However, I object most strongly to the social legislation being imposed now from Brussels.

We are not the United States of Europe, and judging from past history we never will be.

Time to get back to what it was intended for.

  9. Having done my last three 90 day reports using the internet, when I came to do so again today, after completing the form, instead of moving on to the next page, I get a message screen telling me that more information can be obtained from my local immigration office, and reverts back to the previous page.

I am within 75 to 83 days, so that is not a problem.

First time I have had an issue with this reporting.

Just wondered if it is the system and anyone else having problems.
