  1. It's on Nimmanhaemin Road, Soi 6 - drive a couple of hundred meters into Soi 6 until you come to a roundabout. Take a left and park up anywhere. The circus will be on your right.

WTK - I think if you read banjo284's post carefully, it states "from Hang Dong" which makes the "on the right" comment make perfect sense thumbsup.gif

  2. Civilized yes, organized no. It took thirty minutes to get from Starbucks at Thaphae Gate to Brix restaurant ON FOOT after the show had ended. Had to climb over a Channel 7 News van and another car just to get out of Thaphae Gate. Kids were crying and panicking as everyone was trying to get out. Luckily I'm tall so I could breathe okay, but lots of shorter people and young children were freaking out. Not a pleasant experience.

Prior to that though, the fireworks were great.

  3. You might want to try the rooftop restaurant on the top of the Furama Hotel on Huay Kaew Road. You'll have to book in advance as it will likely be a set menu affair. The views of the city are great and you'll be able to see all the fireworks. Avoid Taphae Gate like the plague unless you enjoy disorganized chaos.

  4. But if you are not afraid to be in a minority, and want to pick up some class "no strings attached" then ditch the plebby tourist traps and go to the Monkey club or Warm up.

I gurantee you will not be disappointed......................(but if you are then T.S.cool.png

Walked through Monkey once ...... dumped the four girls with me and kept walking out the other side.

    My idea of hell.

there is only one entrance in and out of monkey club???

If he's talking about the inside of Monkey Club then there are three exits/entrances.

  5. Hi there.

I can't shed any light on Ken's whereabouts, but I can point you in the direction of another chiropractor in Chiang Mai. His name is Dr. Philip Parry and he has a clinic at Rajawed hospital (opposite the Holiday Inn hotel) on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 1pm (I think!).

    Give him a try.

  6. Mestizo - you're right about some of the blogs, although I concur with a lot of Dying Animal's observations about Chiang Mai (the profanity is unnecessary at times) and as a golfer I can relate to the golf blog.

If you have any complaints, why don't you leave a comment on the blog? It will be more effective than criticizing on TV.

  7. Tattoo shop on the top floor of Kad Suan Keaw. Can't remember the name, but it might be called Shadow Tattoo. Anyway, take the escalator up to the top floor as if you were going to the cinema. Once you get to the top of the escalator the tattoo shop will be off to your right. Been there three times, always very good service. Almost all of my Thai friends go there to get ink.

  8. Prices from the list I was given last weekend: 9 holes weekdays including caddy fee, 750 walk in or 530 if you go as a member's guest. On the weekend it's 950 and 630 respectively. Memberships start at 25,000 baht for one year up to 90,000 baht for five years. These prices are for Koolpuntville residents. For non-residents the prices are 30,000 to 120,000 for the same periods.

As Thailand said, these prices are steep in comparison with other nine hole courses. However, for the opening period, 25/8 to 16/11, they're offering a 'special' rate of 480 baht for 9 holes on any day.

  9. You golfers out there may or may not know of a new course opening on the Hang Dong road. It's a nine-hole course of a similar length to Stardome and the prices are similar too (as far as I know). It's having a special opening period at the end of this month with reduced green fees. Called the Mezzanine, I believe, it's located inside the Koolpuntville 9 housing development which is on the Hang Dong road near to Kad Farang. I think it will be open from around the 25th of this month.
