  1. So he called 911 and complained about the weather?blink.png

No but he did make a statement that is was F'ing Cold

I did not listen to the tape nor care to but when I read that I thought...yeah could happen

Anyone ever been in a life or death situation, Many times right afterwards they are in a state of shock.

You feel very cold & many will have trouble talking as their teeth chatter & they shake.

EMT's know to put blankets & warm packs on these folks.

Even simple car accidents if traumatic enough induce this shock/cold

  2. Stopped in at KTM Chiangmai today.

They claim they know nothing about the RC or even the price/availability of a Duke 390

Actually this other forum seems up on it & has some interesting ideas about getting one from India.

    http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/ktm-motorcycles/3778-ktm-390-duke-review-4.html

On a side note I have been seeing more & more Duke 200's on the road here in CM lately.

I guess dropping that price to 199k helped a lot.

Also I see they have a Duke class at the races now so that probably helped too.

Since they had 3 Duke 200's sitting in the CM showroom I asked if I could sit on one etc.

I will say it does have a very nice suspension!

I hope mine tunes up as nice. wink.png I have some Sonic 85kg fork springs clearing Thai customs now.

Overall checking closely the Duke 200 is a very nice piece of quality work.

You also really notice that weight being so low.

The first time I saw one about a year ago it looked tiny & I didn't really go any further to look at it.

But today looking closely, sitting on it & playing with it a bit I was very impressed.

Too bad it is not a twin 250 & priced a bit better but I will say if it was a twin 250 I would pay that 199k

    for that suspension & weight

Also the fact you can switch the ABS on or off was a big plus in my mind

I asked about a test ride but I could not quite understand the girl but the gist was normally no problem but today problem smile.png

I think some guy was missing or maybe the test bike itself?

  3. ^

Maybe that's it, but the ad references the Z1000SX model number- I can't read the rest of the description.

Yeah you know it is confusing because I think the z1000sx is a Thai only deal

The Red Baron bike is definitely not a ZX10r Ninja

Yet does look a little different than the normal z1000

    hmmmm dunno smile.png

Notice the little vents? different than the white pic I posted above

    Lack of fork protectors etc.

    Maybe a sportier z1000?

    Yet not one of these

  4. The juror with the big mouth that some here are suggesting we should take seriously, b37, was apparently a real RED FLAG even before selection.

Hard to believe your the same person who said this before the jury decided the way "they" decided was right.

"Just to add: I will accept the decision of the jury. I would hope others would as well regardless of the outcome"

  6. ^ Well colour me green with interest.

btw, the popping out faring that they have revised, how much is the revised part or parts? Could be very cheap to just buy the new revised part.

Actually the popping fairing was just an adjustment for most folks that I have read about.

Although many older ninja owners do complain that they made this new style much more complicated than need be

    for taking on & off.

You know for the parts like you say getting the extra displacement may not be too big a deal...depends on

if they share the same crank.

But when looking closely the 300 is quite different when you add it all up.

    Slipper clutch

    Larger Injector throttle bodies

Not sure as I said about crank

Also for me personally I would have rather they had increased bore & stroke to get the 300cc

Rather than just stroke it & that way they could keep the engine characteristics the 250 had.

    Which I like

Or even if they had just bored it instead.

But I guess they wanted a more torque oriented motor

  7. but you cannot blame Bama for continuing surveillance programs already in place. If he stopped and we had another twin towers episode, the <deleted> would hit the fan for him stopping and we would never hear the end of the conservative uproar.

I know you didn't mean to make that sound as insane as it does

  8. Watching MotoGP this year & the telemetry charts of riders impacts

when their airbag suits went off was pretty impressive. Mainly was Alpine Star

info though. But impressive that most are walking away from some very heavy high G crashes

I did not realize Dainese has had a street system for awhile now too I guess?

    Two parts...The vest/jacket unit of course &

Accelerometer sensors on forks and frame mounts on the bike

They claim with the system the crash forces on your back are reduced

82% over a back protector. Which seems pretty amazing

    http://www.dainese.com/us_en/d-air/d-air-street

Not that pricey for guys that do long rides etc.

Will be nice if they continue to evolve & get a lot cheaper still

  9. Looks good but I was expecting a bit more power from a race orientated machine. 38 hp from 373cc is a bit underwhelming by KTM standards. About the same power to cc ratio as the conservative cbr500 range...

It's a single so I wonder if the engine is loosely based on the 350 sxf?

Not sure about a sub 10 litre tank either. I like KTM, but their road bikes have a bit of catching up to do with their off road offerings.

I think it is de-tuned for that ADAC cup it is raced in so 44hp would be more likely

as their Duke 390 pulls that & that would be power to weight about the same as the 650 ninja

The downside I am guessing is for some reason they are so cheap in India & so pricey here

as to make them not a good value here. Too bad as they do use nice components & have a nice weight

I would like one as a mountain bike.
