  1. My situation:

Bought my Toyota pickup truck (new) in July 2066, always used The Viriyah Insurance and paid every year:

    - Compulsory Insurance = TB 645 2006 ==> 2013

    - All risk (policy type 1) TB 25,000 in 2006 ==> TB 12,672 in 2010

    - All risk (policy type 1) TB 10,300 2011, 2012 and 2013 after I changed it in 2011 from multiple drivers to one driver (me)

Went to The Viriya office at Sukhumvit in Pattaya last week where I received the following quotation:

    - Compulsory Insurance = TB 645.21

    - All risk (policy type 1) = TB 10,759.88 (one driver)

    Total: TB 11,405.09

Never had an accident, never any claim so my no claim bonus is 50%

    Car age, 9 years

I asked if it was possible to remove for example fire / theft but - as expected - they said, can not, can not....

Looks like I have two choices:

    1) Only pay compulsory Insurance so in case I have an accident The Viriya will only pay all damage other side, my car and myself are NOT insured and I have to pay everything myself

    2) Pay TB 11.405.09 so both myself, my car as well as all damage other side are paid.

Are there any other options beside looking for another company?

Any ways to pay less but still use The Viriya?

    Thanks for your advice.

  2. There's no black and white in real life. There always will be people wrongfully convicted. Accusations of rape or abuse of children are used in relationships going bad too. Locking up people is way much safer than killing them. Safer for protecting society against wrongfull killings. The worst any society can do.

I think we do not have to worry about this guy - he is 1000% guilty!

  3. The windows of most houses are made of wood, without a single rubber closing. Same is true for the doors. When there's wind outside, there's wind inside.

The windows are single layered glass.

The wall are very thin and they are single layered.

Most airco's are not using inverters.

There's no modern ventilation system in the houses.

    There's almost no roof insulation.

There's no insulation in the walls.

    There's no floor insulation.

Almost none of the houses has solar panels (for producing electricity or hot water).

There's no earth leak protection in the electric system (so if you've a leak, you just heat the soil).

Water tubes are made of cheap PVC and there are a lot of leakages. Tabs are also of extremely bad quality.

There are often no doors in the houses or they are made from cheap PVC.

The roof of the house on the living space are separated by 8mm gypsum. There's no concrete ceiling.

The roof is made of heat conducting metal sheet.

The building quality is so bad you should be very happy if your house doesn't collapse within 20 years.

Taking into account the current status, I don't think it's possible to become a world leader in 10 years.

A European house of the middle ages (1000 years old) is much more energy efficient that a modern new Thai condo.

I have read 'somewhere' on the Thaivisa form that as the difference between inside and outside temperature is too small in Thailand, it does not justify / make sense to invest a lot of money in insulation like double windows and walls.

My doors and windows are open 24 hours a day....

  4. I use Keepass: http://keepass.info/

Store the database in a Dropbox folder and you will always have all your password with you. Works also on Android and Linux devices so from every device I can update my password(s)

Then I disable all password storage on browsers (Firefox / Google Chrome) and then use some plugins from Keepass to make my life easy like ChromeIpass for Google Chrome.

Use it for years and works very easy.

  5. My first boss told me, check their back ground......

If he is from a rich family, just forget it - he is not interested in working for you, he will just not show up anymore even if you still own him a one or two months salary.

Example, if he is a system engineer who makes TB 35.000 / month and comes to his work in a car TB 4.000.000 = 114 times his salary - do you think he is motivated to work?????

Only hire 'poor' people, people who need the money - skip the rich guys / girls!

    Just my 2 satang
