I think he told me installation cost THB 2.000 and monthly cost THB 699 - from TOT
He can look streaming video from Europe and as long as they do NOT build a new condo between his condo and the tower a few miles away, it will keep on working!
-
Great - thanks for all the info.
I only think it is 1600mW = milliwatt not 1600MW = Megawatt

Forget to mention, it's Internet from TOT and it connects to a red / white tower a few km away.

Do you think Google will ever offer an official Chrome browser to put on older machines ?
I know there are some Chrome based Linux browsers , but not official so I do not know if the Chrome add ons work
The problem with Chrome is, it will bring an old machine to it knees because it's doing so much 'Google stuff' in the background and Google keep silently slipping in plugins you don't need (but they think you do) Also when you close Chrome, it doesn't close (ever wondered why it's so fast to open?) it hides in the background doing more Google stuff.... which is why people use Firefox and not Chrome.
Sorry - what a load of crap!
There is an option under System / Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed.
If you mark this, Chrome will start very fast as it is still running in the background - you unmark it and close Google Chrome, all aps are closed, just check Taskmanager / Processes - no Google Chrome.

Hello,
I look for advice and hopefully people would like to share their experience and knowledge with me.
At the moment I am in the process of setup a company in Thailand and I look for a reliable hosting company either in Asia, Europe or USA
Our website will ONLY have visitors from Thailand and I look for a Linux shared server with the possibility to move to our own server if network traffic is too high.
Website will have text and a few picture, need MySQL and PHP as well
Any recommendation based on your experience?
Thank everybody for your help.

I would say go for Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela LTS and let us know if you are happy with it or not.
Not sure if Skype for Linux has the same features as Skype for Windows but it will work anyway, used it before without problems.
Keep us up to date!

As mentioned above, Paypal is not easy to use in Thailand. My account got hacked and they refused to restore it, I can't use it.
Unless you use a weak password I do not see how they can hack your PayPall account

That's why they have messengers.....

@JiamSiam, I have to admit that I didn't read your whole e-mail so after reading it from begin to end, please ignore my e-mail ...

Have you tried different browsers, like Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox?
Disable ALL your add-ons, just try it with a 'clean' browser.
For example I use Google Chrome with uBlock (https://www.ublock.org/) and Disconnect (https://disconnect.me/) and some websites just don't like that.
Then I start Internet Explorer (without any add-on) and then everything works so then i know it is a problem with one of my add-ons.

just bring your sim card in case they want to send access codes or verification by sms...
In that case make sure roaming is working as well, otherwise you can't receive your SMS :-)

I have a Brother MFC-J625DW, my room temperature is sometimes over 35 degrees and never a problem with my printer. Use any A4 paper for Tesco Lotus, works fine.

I got so tired of Windows and all the B.S. that goes with it, that I finally bought a Mac Mini about 5 months ago, and couldn't be happier.
...and Mac Mini OS has never updates?

<script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>
Would love to do that BUT as my extension-of-stay expires in 10 days (!!) I do not want to 'piss them off' - as I live now in Chonburi so 'reporting' them to Director of Immigration will certainly not help me with my next extension-of-stay next week....
You are not reporting them you are reporting a problem that you have. Anyway you can go ahead to obtain the new extension of stay on the new passport, then the entry stamp can be dealt separately.
Again Jomtien will NOT help me as I have an e'empty' stamp from Hua Hin in my passport that only Immigration Hua Hin can solve :-(

Jomtien Immigration will NOT help me as I have an 'empty' stamp in my new passport from Hua Hin. Need to go back to Hua Hin again and fix this empty stamp first.
Process was very easy in my opinion:
Step 1 - Transfer extension-of-stay stamp in Hua Hin as that is where I go my last extension from
Step 2 -Apply for new extension-of-stay in Chonburi as that is where I live now.
Next update Monday March 9th
-
Will do that tomorrow and let you know later - what a drama for something so simple...

No - My new Dutch passport says: "This passport has been issued to replace passport number xxxxxxxxxx"
When you get your new passport you will not get a letter from the Embassy.
-
I explained to both Immigration Offices that I have a new passport (they can see that as my old passport has HUGE holes in it, even blind people can see that) so they should know what to do, I suppose....
Correct me if I am wrong - if you have a new passport then you should transfer your extension-of-stay from the old passport to your new passport, correct?

Cable management
in IT and Computers
Posted
In a few weeks we will move to a new office. I have seen it and I was very surprised to see no network and no telephone connection whatsoever...
Basically I have 4 walls, 2 floors and a roof but NO power, telephone or internet...
It's a 15 * 20 meter office ( two floors) with only 2 power sockets at each floor and I need to put in at least 10 desks with telephone, computer, monitor, local printers, network printers, faxes etc... at each floor.
Minimum requirement : 5 power outlets, 1 telephone, 1 network connection per user
As I have been told it must look professional I look for the following cable management conduit - see attachment.
Somebody can point me in the right direction where I can buy something like this or similar.
Thanks for your help.
