Ah, it's "standards" and not the ridiculously over-sensitive farang victim complex we see so often here. I see. So you would prefer the headline to be: Today’s summer storm forecast, everybody in the country regardless of nationality warned of heavy rain, strong wind and hail. And you can Google any random weather warning and then and write emails to fix their headlines too. I'm guessing the standards are not good enough for this either as it should clearly be, "US weather forecast: 23 million Americans and other nationalities face heavy winter storm warnings. Check locations". Honestly, how ridiculous.

Ok, the EVA Air thing was a joke but I meant the 7-Series AOT bit, it would be a much nicer (and safer) way to travel up there especially as you seem to be after comfort. Better than wasting money on any upgrade on such a short flight.

If you really need business class to Bangkok you can fly Chiang Mai to Taipei on EVA Air, then turn around and get a flight Taipei to Bangkok. It'll take you a while though. No airline has business class for a 50 minute flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. As others have said do the 50 minute flight to Suvarnabhumi then book an AOT 7 Series to drive you to the luxury destination of Jomtien.

Actually yes. It wasn't street food, it was in an aircon restaurant with good food and service. It had lots of big chunks of good quality very tender beef chunks in it, so it was good value for money. Of course you can get cheaper khao soi with a stringy chicken leg in it but for what it was it was good value.

I just tried this place tonight. Very small restaurant. Definitely not the best beef in Bangkok but it was pretty good. Good dipping sauces, and decently priced. We had NZ picanha steak (720 baht), some grilled beef tongue with nam prik, crispy fried chicken (very good, and only 150 baht), a mixed salad (good and only 120 baht!). My daughter had sliced pieces of beef over rice with an egg yolk. I also had the best khao soi I have had in Bangkok, with nice big chunks of tender beef in it - only 185 baht. I fancied a beer but they only sell craft beer which is not my cup of tea but it was ok. I wouldn't bother making a special journey there again but if you are in the vicinity I would recommend it if you feel like some meat, or some khao soi. (Also no sign of the BBQ grill in the Tik Tok post)

Yeah, I can't watch anything with canned laughter, it just ruins it. Not sure why most American "comedies" need it other than them not being funny.

Fascinating story. And how much did you pay for this wheelbarrow? Did you pay a top notch price like a good European wheelbarrow? Or did you buy a cheap product because you are tight then complain when it falls apart not because it was cheap but because it was Chinese? Most of these Chinese arguments fall down when you bring cost in to it. Pay for cheap junk and you will get cheap junk. But China has proven it can make extremely high quality products - trains, iPhones, luxury bags, fashion, computers, cars, bridges, tunnels - and in many ways it is light years ahead of the US. But because they also make cheap crap that has a market people (well racist people) equate that with their entire manufacturing output which is ridiculous.

Very sad to hear this, he was an immense help to many people and only posted to pass his knowledge on to make things easier / simpler for other people. RIP.

Yes, if that was my job and I had training in how to apprehend people, and especially if I was accompanied by three other colleagues who have tasers and guns and are also trained. But once he was handcuffed and down I would not have knelt firmly on his neck for nine and a half minutes until he was dead. You speak like he was a monster and being violent and a danger in which case the police have the right to self defence (maybe even use of a taser or even a firearm if their lives were in danger). But he was handcuffed and on the ground already and this was a prolonged event and very deliberate, even keeping the pressure on for one and a half minutes after he had lost consciousness (or perhaps already dead). There can be no excuse whatsoever so it sickens me that some posters on here keep trying to find one.

This is clearly incorrect as shown by the evidence. He was standing by watching a handcuffed, unarmed man be killed. He also prevented him receiving medical attention. He aided and abetted manslaughter as decided by a jury and that is clear. If he was "just doing crowd control" he would have been acquitted. Yes, well you have a very blinkered view of things - that is very apparent.

So it was nothing to do with the fact that an unarmed man was murdered by the police by having his neck kneeled on for nine and a half minutes and a full minute and a half after he lost consciousness. Nothing also to do with the fact that not only did this "officer" do nothing to try to stop the killing but he also prevented a person with trained medical skills (an off duty firefighter) from rendering medical assistance. That is clearly aiding and abetting manslaughter. But no, none of the was taken in to account, it was all just to appease BLM. Like I say, easy to see which side of the fence you sit on as you have nailed your colours firmly to the mast with your post.

That is one of the most hilarious things I have ever read on here - the laughing emoji was me but I know you get upset by them so I apologise but I couldn't resist as I am in stitches. A "reverse speech impediment", right, and you actually knew what his thoughts were and what he intended to say but couldn't because of this "reverse speech impediment". Wow, just wow.

Much as I dislike Trump - and I dislike him a lot as he's a ridiculous, bullying, lying, divisive, self serving, obnoxious, narcissistic, insecure misogynist - I don't get the big deal about draft dodging. It's not like it was WWII when there was a legitimate cause that needed people to unite and fight; it was the Vietnam War which was repulsive, unjust, cruel and many people had legitimate moral objections. I definitely would have done what I could to avoid being drafted up for something I thought was abhorrent. OK, you could have been an outspoken moral objector like Muhammed Ali and gone to jail for it and then got to hold your head high (whilst serving time) - I applaud him for that. But I wouldn't want to go to jail either so would probably look for a loop hole. I am sure many people would if they are honest about it.
