People who get hung up on the Asian "face" deal obviously have never served in any military in the entire world.
Or had a job for that matter. Why just today I told my manager he was a highly effective, leader of men. He wandered off, and probably fell asleep in his office.
Perhaps you don't recall all the "critical thinking" crap we supposedly learned in the university. In the end. You wrote your thesis mirroring the opinion of the professor. Four years of trying to figure out what my professor wanted to hear, and trying to sound original.
I think society depends on blowing smoke up each others butts from time-to-time.

I've actually decided to keep raising Jambul's. I'll probably only live another 20 yrs, and given the exceptional lifespan, I don't think it wise.
Thanks

Thanks for the information. By-chance did you happen to know the ballpark price?
Sorry that wasn't clear in my topic.

Not "lie" "live". Sorry

The immigration at Pang Nong Ron require two passport photo's. If you lie in your wife's home and have her TB easy. The first time I did it, I was living in a rental, and my landlady had to register me first.

Feed them 2X daily. Feeding should last 5 minutes +/- a bit.
Enjoy.

I know there used to be a pet forum, but I'm using the TV app on my iPad and can't find it, so excuse me. Mods can move it.
Does anyone know a ballpark figure on an African Grey at the JJ market?
I haven't been to the market in over two years and have no idea the price range.
Thanks in advance.

We went to a 100 day a few moths ago. The women just made food, and I hung outside and talked with some of the fella's.
I think they made some food baskets. Fed the monks, ate lunch, and then we rolled.
No big deal. No idea if I paid anything or not. I don't run a tab.

Great info guys. Really helps a lot. Obviously have too much time on my hands if in worrying about address formats.
I've been lucky. I've always received every letter I was expecting. Relatively quick.
Again. Thanks.

I usually put:
Name
Number and street
Tambon XYZ, Amphoe ABC
Province 00000 (zip)
Thailand (When addressing from outside the country)
So I am incorrect when only putting "Amphoe Mueng"? I should write "Amphoe Mueng Chanthaburi, Chanthaburi, 22000, Thailand."
to be correct?
-
Thanks guys. I appreciate the responses.
-
I understand the convention. Name, house #, soi, moo baan...Thailand.
What I'm unaware of is when written in English; does the tambon, amphoe, province, zip code, and county all go on the same line?
Does a comma separate the zip code from the country?
I currently use this format.
MY NAME
111/111 my estate
Ko Khwang, Amphoe Mueng
Chanthaburi, 22000, Thailand
My mail gets delivered without a problem, but am wondering if it is correct English.
Thanks

Arab peacekeeping troops. Good one.

The GF thing only applies in certain hotels. No offense, but understand the staff will think your bringing a hooker back to your room. When making your reservations ask up front. Will be no problem.
Yes. She will need a visa. Easy to get, but a necessity. Enjoy

Thanks everyone for assisting me. Great resource.

Here is the specifics.
Non-imm O, multi, issued Jan 11.
My last use was stamping into the kingdom on 30 Dec 11, and stamped out on 19 Jan 12.
My visa was not stamped "used".
I will return to the Kingdom on 6 Mar 12. Duration unknown.
I "think" my visa expires 90 days from my last stamp in on the 30th of Dec. if that's the case then I'm due a visa run on 28Mar.
However my entry stamp for a US citizen gives me 30 days from the 6th. So I'm looking at a visa run before the 5th of Apr in this scenario.
I would like someone to advise me. When do I need to do my visa run?
Thanks

My wife often goes to the police to help collect money owed to her. Although there is no debtors prison in Thailand. Most Thai's a rightfully scared shitless when 5-0 comes knocking on their door. It's a scare tactic. It works 100% of the time.

One a side note. I read that a guy had success, but he included a letter from his wife, written in English. Im not arguing the guys success. But why would a Thai write a letter to a Thai, in English? Other than TiT?
Anyways. I been away from the forums for a long time, health reasons.
As always, the sub-forums are invaluable.
Thanks

Thanks- Sound advice. Was reading through the posts and was getting that feeling.
Funny. I was getting wound up about this plane ticket thing, until I remembered Air Asia flights are only about 1500 baht.
Somehow my mind was stuck on those 30K Qatar Airway tickets.
Again. Thanks
-
Sorry to sound like an idiot. Which plane ticket did you show them?
-
American, age 44.
I have done the type "O" in KL and it was really easy.
Ive been working abroad and will need a new visa in the next few months. I looked at the RTE website for Singapore.
It states I have to show a flight ticket out of Thailand, Can anyone verify that. Seems an odd requirement for a "O" (marriage)
Also, will RTE-S accept 40K baht monthly, or do the want 400K in the bank for 60 days?
I understand, these things change as often as the clerk behind the window.
Done KL and if it was up to me, i'd probably go back there. However, neither of us have been to Singapore, so...
Thank.

Depends where you are.. Pattaya immigration are known to give residency letters for DL:s even if you on 30 day stamp only.
Agree. I was on a Non-imm O and took my lease to Pang Nam Ron Immigration and got my letter. Like all things in the Kingdom, mileage may vary.

I recommend re-enter with the proper visa, and then things will be much less stressful.
As far as getting stopped without a license. I would guess less than 1/2 the vehicles are being operated by licensed drivers. My wife never had one until I went to get mine.
Most just pay the paltry fine and go on. But... you might be the one guy...
Seriously. Get your visa sorted out, re-enter, play by the rules. easy life.

As far as "work" to fit in, and having respect...
I came here to relax. I live in a modest home, in a modest neighborhood. I ride a motorbike when it's nice, and drive a simple small car when it rains. I'm easy going, and like to stop and joke and chat with everyone. Most people like me, but I don't work at it.
I don't judge people, I don't gossip. I'm generous, but not foolish. I have no problem compromising. I know everyone fears Thais robbing them blind. I've seen it happen. I get it. I don't dwell on it.
The first day I wake up wringing my hands over money, and who is trying to steal it. I'll move on.
As far as attire. I've never given a moments thought to what other people might think beyond decency. I'm not aged, and believe in function over form.
I see so many people so unhappy here because they expend energy and emotion trying to become someone else.
Seems most people burn themselves out trying to avoid looking like a tourist, and one upping the guy next to him about whose brain is the biggest.
