  1. If stereotyping is ok, then I guess I should suspect every obese, sweating white man of being a noncing paedophile!

 .....didnt you know.... every obese, sweating white man is here for the temples/culture and beaches, they dont marry bar girls or build houses in Isaan either, they are all fine upstanding individuals who are married to Thai/Chinese Hi-so women (all have at least a Phd) and the familes have connections in the Military, Police or goverment (the tick the applicable) and final they read to the blind on weekend's....;)

    biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

The sweating is what gives them away.

  2. Why would they need to go to Israel to rehearse for a coup? Every staff officer studies the manual on coups at Chulkhomchao. It just needs some updates from time to time like the chapter on taking into account Bangkok traffic after the coup that failed in the late 70s when the tanks got stuck in the early morning rush hour traffic. Don't think the Israelis can help much with that sort of thing. But assassination of high profile enemies in Dubai is more in their line of expertise.

At least one guy on here has done his homework.

  3. I am guilty of "stereotyping" but whenever I see a Nigerian in Bangkok or in Pattaya I can't help but think he is NOT here for the weather or culture.

Oh fugg you, you tool !

How do you know they're not here for the culture? Personally, I've seen many Africans from Nigeria, Ghana etc, walking down Sukhunvit shopping with their families.

How do you know that, if he's a guy, he's not here for the same reason as a huge percentage of the white guys in Thailand; that is, to have sex with the indigenous females?

The Africans that do sell drugs do so with the complete and utter co-operation and encouragement of groups within the Royal Thai Police.

Sure. If you want to suspect that, then go right ahead.

BTW, is indigenous females the same as women?

    Correct

  5. Everyone should be allowed a trial, lets not prosecute people without knowing or understanding the truth...just makes us all look racist and narrow minded. Oh and dont put your real name with your picture on a forum unless you are willing to stand up to your comments in public (if by chance you are rude and negative towards people). Remember we are civil people act like it.

This a very valid point. While we all know about the scam emails and drugs issues, there are still honest Nigerians. I would argue that there are alot of foreigners rotting in Thai jails who have not had humanitarian treatment or reasonable legal representation. While we foreigners sit on the outside criticizing those in jail, you have to remember that its very easy to end up in jail, simply from someone with a grudge against you or being wrongly accused of a crime. Then when this happens to you, who is going to make a big fuss and get you out of jail?

    My accountant.

  6. When some black guy walks up to me and tries to sell me drugs or the use of his girlfriend for an hour, are you suggesting i should enter into a lengthy conversation regarding his country of origin, educational qualifications (or lack of), his aspirations and dreams, etc etc........... when in reality I can conduct the only conversation that i want to have with him in 2 short words?

    How much?

  7. The Thai embassy in Maitama, is among the most quiet of the foreign missions in Abuja, You have to be personally cleared by NDLEA(DEA) chief to even get into the consular section of this embassy.

Wait. I know most of us here are simple, but let me get what you wrote straight.

EVERY single Nigerian who goes into the RTC in Abuja, must be PERSONALLY cleared by the Chief of the NDLEA.

And now at least 700+, who were personally cleared by the Chief, are charged with crimes so horrendous they couldn't buy their way past a Thai cop!

    There you have it.

Where did you get the 700?

Are you certain they all come from Nigeria?

From the original post. Did you actually read this? Read the title of the topic.

The Bishop of whatever-the-heck-he-is-talking-about said they were Nigerians.

  8. The 'expats' in Nigeria think that all 'expats' in Thailand are sexpats and pedophiles.

Your so wrong. The expats who wash up in Nigeria are unlike anything I have ever seen. Makes the Pattaya crew look cultured.

There is some poor Italian guy in Kaduna who seems OK. But if you ask him how he wound up there the story gets a bit odd.

The certifably-insane Serb that hangs out at the rugby club. I have never, ever seen that guy when he wasn't drunk out of his mind.

The more I think about it, i've never met anyone in Nigeria who wasn't on the lamb. Hell even the Chinese don't hang out there. They sell their shit and get back to the hotel, or ship.

Your living in some campus-based co-exist fantasy. W. Africa is the worst place on the entire planet, and the people who come from there are by and large, criminals.

Well it appears you are not mixing with the right expat crowd, know plenty of expats in Nigeria who are in normal jobs making heaps of money in Oil & Gas, have you actually been there or are you jusr repeating what someone told on a bar stool, as the report back I get from guys I know say it aint the best placve in the world but aint the worst either....

Same I should add, I am a local there, I meet a lot of very happy expats there, I tell them of the fun to be had in Thailand, they reply thanks but no thanks. They only see the floods on the news and read about the sex in the press.

Your right. I did see a lot of happy expats. In the disco at the Abuja Hilton. Those guys had never seen so many African hookers before.

Yes, I worked in Kaduna last year for about 7 months. 1 month in Lagos. so... The O&G expats are more like work-release prisoners. Good money, but they stay bunkered in their compounds, much like the NEP crew in BKK.

Don't trust me. Go there. Lagos ranks above Mogadishu, and KInshasha, and below Baghdad, and Kabul in crap hole places.

No place in SEA even compares.

  11. The first thing Thailand should do is issue an immediate moratorium on ALL visas from West African nations.

During this period, twice daily sweeps by the police should be sent into all known problem areas. If people are found without their passport, they should be escorted to get it. If there is no valid visa, they should be deported and banned from ever returning. To be fair you could give a 10 or 15 day amnesty for overstays to voluntarily leave the country without penalty and without being blacklisted.

After this has been done and the vermin have been purged, a very strict visa program should be put in place. It should be set up like tourist visas to the USA. If you are from a third world country, then you need to show legitimate reasons that you will return to your country of origin after your stay. This can be a job you have held for a long time, sufficient balances in savings accounts, owning property, etc. Tourist Visas from these countries should be the exception, not the rule.

This will keep the entry level foot soldier third world criminal from coming to Thailand and engaging in criminal enterprise.

Will this eliminate drugs and crime in Thailand? Certainly not, but it will keep it local. Several others on this thread, as well as myself have commented on how a once nice area to visit (Lower Suk) is now a cesspool we avoid.

With these criminal syndicates moving down to Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai and other areas of Bangkok, action is needed now to keep the cancer from spreading through the country so many love to visit.

Great idea, can we apply the same to USA and Israeli passport holders ???

Along with Russian and British passport holders and anyone who intends becoming an "English Teacher" as well as any persons who have reached the age of 60, at the same time same as Cambodia lets ban marriages between Thai women and Aliens who are over the age of 50....This will keep the dirty old men out of Thailand as well

I always assume when people write "dirty old men" that their wives are reading over their shoulders, arms crossed, foot tapping.

  13. My favorite comment so far as been the guy talking about Nigerian culture.

What part of Nigeria are you talking about?

The entire country is like a scene out of "The Book of Eli". I have only been to two worse places. Mogadishu and Kinshasha and they are in failed states, not "examples of African progress". I currently live in Baghdad and won't transfer to Lagos because it's such a craphole.

Aside from being the worst Soldiers in W. Africa, Nigerians excel at crime, and little else.

The only reason they are tolerated here is because they do grunt work for the Thai's and they cause little problems for actual Thai people. Mostly just harass white tourist's wandering through the lower Suk.

  14. At least when the Thais approach you with some scam they piss off fairly quickly when you say no or ignore them. The Africans doing this stuff just won't quit. They follow you and keep at it.

That's one of the major beauties of Thailand. I've been to many developing nations - certainly, Thailand suffers from its fair share of corruption and extortion of tourists - but, relative to other countries,

    Thailand is fairly harmless.

Don't like being gipped by corrupt Thai police? Try being rolled over by Russian police.

Even the non-criminal element - street stalls, selling T-shirts, for example. Thais might motion for you to buy a shirt, but the sales pitch ends there. Take a stride through Tangiers, and feel the difference.

I don't know why Thai authorities don't stamp out the more obvious, persistent street crimes perpetrated by non-Thais - other than the very likely prospect that the Thai police covering those districts are being paid off. In this case, the more aggressive Nigerians are doing the dirty work of a corrupt, but physically benign, police force.

    Exactly.

  15. Just out of curiosity, I wonder what the criminal justice system is like in Nigeria.

    Free and fair trials?

    Due process?

Clean, respectable prisons, with adequate medical attention for all inmates?

No corruption or extortion of any kind?

I work in Nigeria all the time. It makes Cambodia look like Sweden.

  16. Interesting topic.

First. As some one mentioned earlier. Most of the Africans you will encounter are not Nigerians, but Ghanian's and Senegalese. These countries supply Asia with the small but growing supply of cocaine from S. America. You'll find most W. Africans to be alike. Not to be trusted and shady characters at best. Which makes them perfect partners with the Thai police that work the lower Suk.

Anyone who thinks there actually selling drugs is a fool. You go to buy, get rung up by the BiB, buy your way out, and the two split your money.

I have worked in Nigeria and it makes Cambodia look like Sweden. I worked up North in Kaduna. If we traveled at night we had to have military escorts to protect us from the police. Once in Lagos I had a friend get robbed before he could get to the baggage claim inside the airport.

I was driving one evening to Abuja to fly out, and the road looked like a zombie apocolypse. Thousands of people shuffling down the road.

We routinely carry atropine injectors with us when we do go out, to counter the effects of our drinks being drugged. Atropine will at least get you to the door hopefully.

I currently work in Iraq and feel much safer here, than in Lagos.

Once when I was applying for a visa at the Nigerian embassy on soi 71 the lady asked for a 10000 bribe to process it. I gave her the money. Later they demanded more money. I told them forget it, and to return my money. The lady gave me my money back in a envelope. I looked inside to count it. Shit you not. 1000 baht notes, photocopied on white paper, and cut with scissors. The lady smiled and said she was playing a joke, and then gave me my real money.

On a positive note. In Chanthaburi we have a large African population who are in the region for the gem trade. They have assimilated quite well. (better than whites actually) They have families, there kids are in school. Heck TL even has a garment stand for African appareal. The Thai's get along well with them because A. They stick to themselves. and B. There commerce-minded. They are not drinking their life away on a perpetual holiday (I'm guilty).

Another interesting story I have heard. I heard that once they have enough to fill up a plane (200+) and if they have served over 8yrs in Thai prison. They are repatriated to Nigeria to serve out the sentence. This includes drug trafficers.

Racism or not. I don't care. Be careful out there.

  17. I have a "O" multi that expires on the 12th of Jan.

I work abroad and am in a country where getting a new visa is impossible.

I plan to return to the Kingdom on the 28th of Dec and depart on the 15th of Jan.

Normally, and perhaps in this situation simply an entry stamp would cover me for such a short stay.

Should I be concerned at all about my visa?

Stick to the facts. You'll never win a flame war, and it diminishes the value of the original post.

Great responses. Your group really helped your inter-personal relationship skills.

Attack and attempt to discredit anyone who disagrees with you.

Your responses where childish insults designed to deflect the issues. Typical of the clever.

    To answer your questions/responses.

1.I am from the planet Earth.

    2. I have a BS in Management studies, and your not using science or facts, just assumptions. You cherry-pick "facts" from google, and discard anything that counters.

    3. I am my own best friend so I would pretty much know if there was a problem.

    4. I saw your 2nd reply. Not sure how my education level pertains to your "manliness" I pretty much said it's OK. For you. Do you insist it must be universal?

No one has even mentioned that self-examination is detrimental. I think everyone does it.

Your 2nd sentence is word sausage. Of course dysfunctional men are damaging... Thats the definition. Good filler though.

Good closing attack, leave with an insult.

You started this thread as a tender man who is coping with himself through life. I countered that your American culture has made you a professional victim.

I can assume that during your feminization they disclosed their arguing techniques to you. You have mastered them.

In the end it's working for you, and thats the important part.

I grew up in a culture that demands that men edit themselves. Its hard to lead from the front when your in tears.

But your like an alcoholic who sobers up. Now you've found YOUR way, you deem everyone else who hasn't opted for YOUR way, as inferior.

You've attempted to bait us several times with this topic. Some of us, joked and busted your chops, but for the most part ignored you. Now you open a discussion, but won't discuss.

You insist that since you have become feminized that it has made you a better person, and I have no doubt that it has. For you.

Your trying to solve your problems and in typical academic/liberal behaviour you want to demonize someone else (Father). It's your generations and your cultures way.

Ofcourse nothing beats the Mrs spit but I feel a long session coming up and she usually gets a dry mouth after ten minutes or so.

If you were any good, she wouldn't need Vaseline. Learn, boy. Poor cow.

  22. I think to be clear. I don't think anyone has made comment about communicating your feelings as being gay.

I think the gay comments came from the OP's reference the 7yr old child sex, talking about masturbation in a group environment, and then the recommendation that men should get drunk and try it.

    That is the gay part.

Talking about how you feel. Not gay
