  1. Hi - I need to apply for my retirement visa also. My question is I'm currently on a Tourist visa with 5 days left on my 60 day stamp, but I will have another 30 days if I get the next stamp from immigration. Can I just apply for the retirement visa now and not have to get the additional 30 day stamp? I already have all the necessary paperwork to apply.

    Thanks

  2. Hi - I need to get vaccinated for yellow fever for a job in Cameroon. Anybody know of an affordable clinic or hospital to get this shot. Also, I need to do a medical exam. It's a basic one - vision, bmi, bp and pulmonary checks. If anyone knows of an affordable place near Wattana I can get this it would be most appreciated.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi - US citizen on a double entry tourist visa. For some reason the visa service I normally use only had one van running today and left before their designated time of 6:30 a.m. So now I'm going to be in overstay on my second entry. Will they cancel my tourist visa and just give me a 30 day entry stamp? Going to Ban Laem border.

My tourist visa use by date will not expire, but the last stamp from immigration will be one day overstay.

    Thanks

  4. Hi - I just received my new USA passport. I have a double entry tourist visa with one 60 day entry already used in the old passport. The embassy gave me back my old passport so I could transfer the visa to the new one. The problem is my 60 days are expired today!!. When I go to immigration are they going to stamp me OVERSTAY?!?! They initially told me I would just be given a 30 day stamp with the new passport and the visa would be obsolete??

    Thanks for any responses

  5. She has to sign the Green Book and fill out the transfer paperwork required by the license office. She is the legal owner of the bike, hopefully you are both on good terms. Easiest way to get this done is take her and the buyer down to the registration office and have her sign in person, have her bring her ID. This will save you time in the event the person at the desk doesn't accept the signature in the Green Book or transfer paperwork as matching.

Went through this in the past several years ago, complete pain in the butt.

By the way, you get a tourist visa that is good for 90 days you can register the bike in your name but if I recall you have to register the bike before you hit the 60 days remaining mark on your visa. Things change all the time though so don't recommend you take what I am saying as absolute truth, being Thailand and all you never know but if the bike is in her name the bike belongs to her period and you can't legally sell it without her signing off. I'm pretty certain that has not and while not change in the perceivable future.

Excellent info. I'm on another tourist visa with about 70 days left on it. Thanks, very much this makes things a lot less complicated. I was almost going to sign it off to me gf but that might be a mistake.

    Most appreciated.smile.png

  6. Hi - I bought a scooter last year, but since I'm on a tourist visa I couldn't put it in my name and it was left in the name of the wife (Thai national) of the person I bought from. I would like to sell the bike. Do I need to go back to this person and get them to sign it over to me or can I just sign it over to the person I sell it to?

    Thanks

  7. Hi - I'm a US citizen and recently did a tourist visa run to Laos on March 4 2013 for 2 entries (90 days). I had to go back to the states for business for few days before the 60 days was up - 13 days before my 60 days was up. When I returned to the kingdom (April 20) I was given a stamp for another 60 days. Seems like a good deal, but I'm worried that I might get an overstay because of the mix up. The immigration officer had a sign which read, "TRAINEE" on the booth window? Though he did ask for assistance from fellow officers.

Any info would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

  8. Also, In the white taxis - I believe Vinasun - the meter starts automatically. So don't freak out like I did. Get coffee from the little whole in the wall shops not, Highland or Nguyen coffee. Treat the ladies nice and they'll treat you even nicer.

The motorcycle and cyclo touts are major scam artist. They'll show you a laminated card with places to show you. "How much," you ask. "Up to you," they answer. You quote them a reasonable price. At the end of your journey they tell triple or quadruple your original bid then pull out the laminated card again and fold it open - never shown at the start - showing the astronomical price listings. Tell them to fold open the whole card. Or, just walk or rent a bike. Viet Scam artist. Sad, really, because the people are genuinely very sweet - makes Thailand look like Russia. I'm still in culture shock on my return to BKKblink.png
