Well, it seems that there is a reason for why the UK is struggling. It's been posted here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1281598-brexit-has-cracked-britain’s-economic-foundations/

Tesla stock has plummeted since Elon Musk took over Twitter. Here's why.
Credo replied to Scott's topic in World News
Tesla is suffering needlessly because of Musk's latest flight-of-fancy, Twitter. The high profile status of Musk is part of what kept Tesla a strong contender in the EV market. Tesla and Musk are branded the same. As EVs go, Tesla is increasingly facing stiffer competition from run-of-the-mill car manufactures like GM, Ford and numerous others. Without Musk touting Tesla, it's just another EV. -
The IRS is primarily interested in getting their money. They are less interested in prosecuting people.

Kari Lake loses court case on results of November election
Credo replied to Scott's topic in World News
I followed this race closely. I was sure that Lake was going to win. Hobbs refused to debate her, and it seemed like Hobbs kept a low profile during the campaign. There weren't many ads on TV featuring Lake. Most of the ads seemed to be just Lake saying something controversial by Lake. Lake's is a colorful person, a good speaker and accustomed to the Camera; Hobbs much less so. With AZ being strongly Conservative, Lake should have been a shoo-in. The race was hers to lose and she did just that. Apparently, even some of the staunch Conservatives are fed up with the BIG LIE. -

Surely any right-winger would support them being given refugee status for such a horrible imposition on their freedom. -
Oh, so you think a sea blockade would work? That would be a lot of military personnel covering a lot of territory for a very long time and still those boats will slip by. Conversely, you can allow them in when they land, screen them and if they have a claim (which most will not), let them remain. The difficulty is that many of them come from countries where they cannot be safely returned -- and in some cases they can't be returned at all.

And no Russians remain either.

Jeremy Clarkson says he is 'horrified' over Meghan column
Credo replied to Scott's topic in World News
I find the vitriol against Meghan to be interesting, especially when you compare it to things like frolicking topless at a pool and having your toes sucked on by a man you aren't married to, or trying to sell access to him. -
One country does not have the right to enter the territorial waters of another country without the express permission or previous agreements to do so. That is particularly true of military ships. Once in international waters, they are covered under protocols that require they be assisted and taken to the closest safe harbor. You seem to forget these are people. They are human beings, and how they are treated is covered by laws and basic human morality.

Brittney Griner reportedly released from Russian prison 10 months after arrest

Waco, Tx is not her home. Her home is Phoenix, AZ. -
That is strictly illegal and the UK will be creating a much larger problem by doing so. Give it a thought for a moment, British military boats unloading people on the shores of France. What could go wrong?

You seem to think Americans care about the monarchy. They don't. The Royal family has no effect on Americans, so they are up there with the Kardashians and any other Hollywood/social media based entity. Opinions are not particularly polarizing. Look, Americans love the queen. In a YouGov poll taken last year, 68 percent of Americans expressed a favorable view of the queen against the 14 percent who held an unfavorable view. They aren't as fond of the new reigning monarch. Charles only has a 34 percent favorable rating. https://www.newsnationnow.com/danabramslive/abrams-why-are-americans-so-obsessed-with-british-royalty/#:~:text=Look%2C Americans love the queen,a 34 percent favorable rating. -
Live Updates: House Committee Approves Release of Trump’s Taxes
Credo replied to Scott's topic in World News
I am not sure how you can 'not' cooperate with an audit. I had my taxes audited one year, and they simply said 'you owe $X'. If I disagreed, then I could meet with them and bring any evidence of a challenge to their accounting. It was not an amount that was worth arguing over, and it was simply paid. It was for some tax deductions that they deemed not correct. They certainly didn't send me a letter asking me if it was OK for them to audit me!! -

So, the race is on. Which will be the most interesting and crime filled, Trump's taxes or Hunter's laptop? -
Musk is no doubt a bright, out-of-the-box thinker. He is on the Autism spectrum. He is, however, not what most would consider a 'good' person. He is not a good fit for a company like Twitter.

I think the problem for the sycophants -- or should I say psychophants -- is that it's getting very difficult to endlessly defend his very obvious criminal activities. They are running out of people to blame for his misdeeds. They have blamed all the Democrats and lefties, they have blamed all the law enforcement (Capitol Riot) and FBI, the Media is always responsible. They are either regrouping or they are at the point where they are going to drop the victim card and look at the real criminal, Trump.

Jeremy Clarkson says he is 'horrified' over Meghan column
Credo replied to Scott's topic in World News
Thanks. It's nice to hear from someone who sees through the fog .... or should I say S***? The lack of support for Harry & Megan was probably comforting to some in the Royal Family who had their own missteps overlooked as Megan and, Harry to a lesser extent, acted like a lightning rod in a thunderstorm. -

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are an admirable couple. They have exposed the racist underbelly of the nation and the misogyny that is so abundant and evident even on this forum. I suspect the rifts in the Royal Family will heal with time, and they are likely to begin to understand the many ways they have contributed to an endemic problem of racism. Hopefully, they will lead from the top.- 195 replies

I suspect you are wrong on containment, but it can only work when it is done for a short time. We are a social species, and we can't tolerate long periods of time being isolated from others. China's lockdowns long ago passed their use-by-date. China has steadfastly refused to use any of the foreign vaccines as they try to develop their own mRNA vaccine. That's nationalism, and that doesn't work well in a pandemic. Save nationalism for some other event, not a public health menace. The other error they made was trying to vaccinate the working-age people instead of the high risk, which is elderly and those with mitigating health issues. For the time being, it appears that the only way out of the pandemic is to vaccinate our way out, or to at least vaccinate those at the greatest risk. With time, this virus may become less problematic.

Lady Susan Hussey quits over remarks to charity boss Ngozi Fulani
Credo replied to Scott's topic in World News
I highly doubt it. Fraud charges won't go away once an investigation is launched. It certainly won't hurt to have the palace either neutral or leaning toward her side, though. Having the palace against could be very counterproductive.
