Last week I flew CNX, BKK (swampy), CNX via Vietjet. Both ways only passport was required. On return the security check at BKK have tightened.
The hotel I stayed in overnight was the only time I was asked for vacc proof

What you want is an app that will normalize the volume on multiple tracks. MP3Gain is one of the free apps that will do that, and I think they are probably many others as well. Hope this helps.

Thanks Paul, I'll get MP3Gain and give it a try

Hi, I have created a number of 'Playlists' from the music in my PC and have copied them to a number of USB Thumb Drives
that I play softly in my car whenever I'm driving.
Unfortunately many tracks are at different volume, some soft and some a bit louder. Therefore I am constantly adjusting the volume which I find distracting and quite annoying.
Does anyone know of an 'Equalizer' that I can run the drives through to equal out the sound? Or some other means?
Many thanks

I was in Dr Morgan's Clinic earlier this week, whilst there I enquired about a Tetanus Vacc - yes they have them at the clinic and can do immediately - I elected to come back next week as I have a very bust schedule for that day.
I did notice signs for other jabs, but I don't recall what they were right now

Thanks for all the replies, very much appreciated

Hi, I have 3 oil paintings that I wish to have framed.
Years ago I had a number framed at a shop in a Soi off Nimmanhamin, but unfortunately its now closed.
Can anyone recommend a good framer in CNX. TIA

G Rex. Can you share how you watch AFL using your VPN?
I have Surfshark, but I've always had to pay for an AFL monthly or yearly subscription to watch it live here.
And that's only "permitted" if you are outside of Australia.
Any info or guidance would be greatly appreciated !
orchidfan & G Rex - True Cable ( & only True Cable) on their least expensive package have 'ABC Australia' which show 7 or 8 games of AFL every week

I too will soon need an electric gate.

We currently have our new home under construction. We are using a Thai builder name Song.
He speaks English, easy to work with and employs good staff. He can be contacted on 094 702 0712

It seems I've opened a can of worms, much of the info posted by others was previously unknown to me.
I had a sleepless night last night just thinking about this young boy, and the future problems he could encounter - on the assumption he is / was a British citizen - and we all know the problems one can have here as a non Thai.
At this stage I think the only thing I shall do is to get advice to her to contact the British Consul, the one here in CNX. That will be the end of my involvement

Last night my partner and I went downtown to a Thai friends' restaurant for dinner (during which we were the only customers by the way).
During our time there a Thai lady and her son came in and talked to her friend, the restaurateur. We couldn't help but hear their conversation to which, not before long, my partner joined in. This chatter went on for some 30 minutes and often I was asked for some 'falang' advice. In typical Thai ways there were many different stories, but eventually the crux of the matter came out.
This lady was married to an Englishman, and has (so I'm told) Tambon documents proving such.
He was previously married in the UK and, so I was told, has a son there.
For a number of years this Englishman spent 6 months, or so, here and six months, or so, in the UK.
This couple conceived a son, born (not sure) about 5 years ago.
Reportedly, the husband / father stated on numerous occasions, he would take care of his son, even if he died.
He also had promised to eventually take his Thai wife and son back to live in the UK - as a result, at birth, the son was registered as British and currently has a (pristine) British Passport, which I was shown.
The Thai wife hadn't heard from her husband for quite some time and was now becoming rather anxious.
This week she was finally able to contact her husband's brother, only to be told her husband died about 1 year ago.
The husband's brother now refuses to talk further to the Thai lady.
The real problem here is that this young lad in question is not a Thai citizen, is a falang, is a British subject. As a result the mother gets no assistance from the Thai government in anyway shape or form, no medical, no schooling, no nothing. She is becoming desperate for the lad's future, as he's a falang, a British falang.
I told her she must go and see the British Embassy, but as she pointed out she can't go - due to the virus in and around BKK. Also, in hindsight, we all know how inept embassy staff can be, at times.
This lady needs help, she says not for herself but for their son. I can't help any further as I am not British.
For my way of thinking she needs a good British Samaritan to help and advise her how to resolve her problem, which really is her son's problem. Surely such a person(s) exists here in CNX amongst the British expats. Any helpers?????
PS - I don't know the lady's name, and the only way I know how she can be contacted is through our mutual friend, the restaurateur. And I really am unable to shed any further light on her problem.

If you have a Westpac online bank account simply go online and change your address, mobile number (using your Thailand mobile number) and your daily withdraw limit. For all withdrawals over 1k they send me a OTP. I have been doing this for the last 16 years. Simple

The previous (good) Deleted introduced a grass with a massive and deep root system for use in situations outlined by the OP.
Thais sometimes refer to as the 'Kings Grass' or more correctly as 'Paw to-wong' - just a thought

Thanks Jacko & Peter for your advice,
Fortunately, as Jacko suggested, I was able to find my original visa in my old passport, which states clearly
Type of Visa: Non-Immigrant Category "O" .
I think I shall copy that and have it on hand when I next apply for an extension to avoid any misunderstanding.

Maybe a dumb question, but how does one determine whether one is on an "AO" or "O" visa?
I've been here for 16 years, have left Thailand for short breaks several times, had "re-entry visas", never a problem.

I am with BKK Bank.
Have 2 FCAs, one a 'savings' with an oversized bank book (which can be updated at any branch that offers a currency exchange service), no ATM card and a monthly 'statement' (by mail). From this account I can transfer $ to B via ibanking (and its immediate).
The 2nd account is a 'fixed term', no bank book but a certificate, and a monthly 'statement' by mail. In this account I keep the equivalent of B800,000 for my retirement visa (& have used this account for the last 3 years - no problems). This account pays 2.5%, but note every currency has a different rate

I live in CNX. I’m registered and use my PC to do my 90 Day Reporting.
On the 18th of this month I’m scheduled to go down to BKK (for daily outpatient medical treatment) and due to return to CNX on the 25th May.
My 90 Day Report is due on the 15th May, right in the middle of my visit to BKK.
I can’t take my PC with me to BKK, but I do have an Android Tablet that I’ll be taking. So, I’m seeking help on
* Do I need to re-register using my Android Tablet?
* As I’m already registered on my PC will duplicate registering via Android cause me a problem?
* What address should I report, my temporary one in BKK or my permanent one in CNX?
Advice welcome
