  1. It could have been a real appendage instead of a cucumber. Still, a beginning.
  2. The Mrs. and I will get away to Nong Kai on the Valentine's weekend. We've never been. Google Maps shows a single soi with an assortment of bars. We do like playing pool while enjoying some cold refreshments. I welcome comments and recommendations about that area and notable restaurants or anything else you thought was worthwhile in that city. Thanks.
  3. I'm happy that you have an extensive history in Thailand without experiencing any bullying. That is not the case for me and specifically at immigration. In the example previously posted he did NOT write that I was yelling at a tourist. He wrote that 1 (one) was yelling at a tourist. I'll give you 2 examples from my life in Thailand. The person who manned the counter at immigration refused to speak English with me and was openly unfriendly. And with my friends as they reported. When I told them my story the laughed a bit and said "OH! You mean the ***t?!" So, that is just the way she was. One day when I arrived it was apparent that high ranking officers were on the scene. That day she was in uniform, usually she was not. And she said to me very clearly "Can I help you sir?" Ultimately I left Thailand and walked away from renewing my retirement visa because of this woman. It turns out I could be in country as much as I wanted to be on a METV. In my 2nd example I was in country on a multiple entry tourist visa. I have never overstayed or made a problem. I wanted to do a border run in Ranong to stay legal and catch my flight home in 9 days. The man thumbed through my nearly full passport and yelled at me that I was living in Thailand. He never stopped at any specific page. Nothing I could say made a difference and I always stayed polite. So, I'm happy for you but your life does not reflect everyone's. I have also been treated exceptionally well. If awards were handed out I believe that the office in Hua Hin would be a strong contender.
  4. It reminds me of years ago that I needed a Dr. certificate for my extended visa. It cost me 200 baht and she produced it while I waited, never bothering the doctor and whatever he was up to in his office.
  5. Lip balm??? Can I still bring that tube I jam up my nose whenever I get within 2 meters of a farang?
  6. This is just the tip of the iceberg. They are finally opening their eyes to what we've known all along. They should look at Aussies next considering their family legacies.
  7. This activity is not for me, But why should I be a busybody and report someone for it? Are rewards on offer?
  8. I too do not see the big victory for law enforcement. His known crimes date back to 1968 so it seems he managed 57 years of freedom to be himself.
  9. "potentially damages Thailand's reputation" I have to wonder what the Thai leadership believes Thailand's reputation IS.
  10. Stand by - next it will be a little "tightening job" if you know what I mean
  11. Tagging on, not hijacking I hope - is mai daeng what we call mahogany? That's my best guess anyway.
  12. When getting an e-visa to return to Thailand in Dec of 2021, this reminds me of the process of taking a selfie while holding my passport open to the photo page. And the website rejecting multiple versions until finally it accepted it.
  13. To all the people who believe the sexual favor accusation, prosecuting attorneys are elected, not appointed. So carry on with your grade school gossip. I keep waiting for Trump to wow us with his game changing policy statements. You know what's true? He sees his humiliating defeat speeding towards him and he's got NOTHING.
  14. EVA is still my airline of choice even though they are far more, umm, business minded (mercenary) than they were a few years ago. At that time one could upgrade to Economy Plus for a small difference. Now it's a big difference. Can you save upgrading at check-in? Let us know. For me, flying out of Chicago, they usually have the best price and the best schedule too. The staff is still professionally friendly and the food at times is actually good. Just be glad you don't have to fly a US airlines.
  15. Am I the only one wondering if other slimes could also be effective? Research required . . .
  16. This is hilarious. How about allocating some money to learn how to stop unintentionally electrocuting people? Then tackle AI topics.
  17. What are the restrictions and are they relatively new? Having flown out of Ranong regularly 10 years ago I remember seeing foreign pilots, one of them a woman.
  18. I have kicked myself for not scooping one of these up when they were simply "used cars" at a resonable price. And the green one juts like that would have been my first choice.
  19. It is my understanding that METVs are only available in your own country.
  20. For 3 consecutive years I brought my GF in for a 6 month stay as we escaped the rainy season and enjoyed the US summer. The 3rd time we got an aggressive agent who accused her of wanting to live in the US and said we needed to get into the green card program. He also threatened to not allow another entry. I wanted to suggest that he'd be more effective on our southern border but of course had to bite my tongue. I believe it always comes down to the luck of the draw and who you are dealing with. Was it a factor that this guy only stood about 5'-6"? Perhaps having a cover letter from you might be helpful?
  21. It would be easy and is tempting to make a sarcastic comment. It only took 10,600 complaints to consider there is a problem? There was no indication of a problem previously? But my second thought is that maybe the new administration is making a good faith effort at improving the tourist's experience. Maybe.
  22. I know what you mean but that is not the lowest level. Go down one more to where the train arrives.
  23. I hereby invite Mr. Chai Watcharong to arrive at the very lowest level at Suvarnabhumi with a full bladder. Only to discover there are no toilet facilities on that entire floor. I wonder how he would rate the airport then.
  24. I read it as stopping minors from jumping each other in the comfort of a love motel. Now they'll have to continue like any other day with one perched on a motorbike set and the other with both feet firmly planted on the ground.
