  1. find a larger gold shop. Usually I buy bars in the 5,10 &20 baht weights. The two prices you see in the window are the bid and ask price. Gold shops will usually charge 50 baht for each baht bought or sold.

Ive been doing it for years now and I have never had a problem.

or you can call Kun Tik in chiang mai at 053-234060, she is my broker and speaks excellent english.

  2. If you want reliability, stay with true visions. But there are ways around it. The programming is so poor that I don't miss it when my system is down which is about 5% of the time. Between the phillipines, FTA and other ways you can say good bye to the piss poor expensive monopoly that is true visions.

True visions must look for the lowest cost english programming availiable and use that as their only critera of choice. Then they charge an arm and a leg for the endless repeats and dated, cheap programs.

having a good internet connection is a must

  3. the ETF , Gld is considered a collectable by the IRS.

    says who?

    the IRS.

    prove it.

Investors should be aware that the tax treatment on gains from physical metal isn’t the same as with stocks.

The IRS treats physical gold as a “collectible,” subject to a maximum tax rate of 28% if held for more than one year, compared with 15% for long-term gains on stocks. If a gold ETF is sold in less than a year, any gains are taxed as ordinary income. As always, investors are best served by consulting a tax adviser

  4. anything you buy in the financial markets is subject to capital gains (if you are a U.S. taxpayer and sell with a gain). ETFs are derivatives and therefore no collectibles (or if you prefer collectables). of any collectibles bought and sold in open markets (auctions, private, etc.) the IRS has no knowledge and cannot tax them. however, estate tax and/or capital gains might apply in case of death. i was a U.S. taxpayer for a considerable number of years. the value of the collectibles in my home was greater than the value of the home itself. nobody ever taxed them :o

  5. it has already started. My speed has sometimes doubled, very eratic at this point. Also unstable which isn't what I need for my dreambox. But hopefully they will get it smoothed out after a while like they did the last time they did this.

  6. call north star satellite....Kun suriya...telephone number is 085-040-4012. he is competent, I have used him for about a year. Better than giving the money to Truevisions, which is an overpriced rip-off. Tell him the farang in Ban wang tan told you to call.

  7. like i said, UBC programming is horrid...I get it thru the DM 500 now, cant get away from it..lol

UBC is reliable, but that is about it...

....really is next to worthless and thank goodness for the internet...as long as I can get my DM500 reception,no matter how hit and miss it is worth it not to pay UBC for the worthless, cheap programming they offer

  8. I used UBC for about 5 years. I decided to take a chance with a Dynasat F=1 and DM500 dream box. I figured about 15 months is what the the sweat is to equal the price of UBC. It is basically the same programming, which is pretty horrid. It usually works about 95% of the time. I was looking for different programming, but found the same shit. If you are flexible it is ok, if you want reliability, pay the money to ubc.

  9. I would use the word capitulation, regarding my attitude twords the service of max net , or drop as I refer to it. I have given up with trying to get help from TTT long ago. When I get shitty service I just find something else to do. I use the internet for pleasure, so no business is lost.

I am curious though. The continual problem of being cut off from the internet connection, or dropped as some refer to it, must mean that there is some kind of problem that could possibly be solved. This has been going on at my home for years now. I have had service to my home and all my connections are fine etc. . Sometimes fine, sometimes forget it. MOst can relate I'm sure.

Is there anyone out there with a technical background that could tell me what the FFFF is going on and why they can't seem to fix it?
