Is this prostate hyperplasia medicine available online in Thailand?

Not quite so ornate, but I sailed here from Europe on the ship, Star Clipper, which used to be based in Phuket during the high season.
38 days from Athens to Phuket via Suez Canal, the Red Sea, Goa, Kerala, Sri Lanka and the Similan Islands - an incredible journey…-

My girlfriend says it could be to commemorate King No 5 who died on the 23rd October 1910. She said could be still a day later. She says many had a holiday yesterday so today they wear black when back at work.
Quite right. These dates in the Thai calendar are to respect the passing of past kings: Chulalongkorn (Rama 5) and Bhumipol (Rama 9) so there is logic if you know something about the country you are living in!!

WARNING Lasers of the type indicated here can cause permanent eye damage. Common sense is required and no pointing at aircraft (they are not big silver birds), people or pets. Use the regular red pointers to amuse/annoy the cat.
Anyway.
A few weeks back Madam was moaning to the builder's merchant that pigeons roosting on our gable-end are, er, depositing on the patio roof which now has solar panels which really don't like pigeon poop.
He told her to use a laser pointer! Hmm.
A bit of research showed that laser bird scarers really are a thing. Apparently, the birds perceive the beam as a solid object and avoid it, no actual contact with the creatures and certainly not in their eyes, that would be unethical (even with pigeons). Green is the colour of choice for birds.
Commercial units are not exactly low-cost of course so it was time to do some shopping.
I ordered the most powerful, green "laser pointer" I spotted on Lazada. "3W" it says unlike your normal pointer of about 3mW!!
https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i265013902-s411903063.html
The beast that arrived would not look out of place in the hands of Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi or Yoda!! Apparently green lightsabers are wielded by Jedi warriors.
It does come with diffusers to make pretty patterns, these are still in their plastic bag
Charged the supplied 18640 Li-Ion battery on the supplied charger, time to test.
I checked the input power and I reckon the laser is nearer to 2W but so what!
It works like a charm, the birds see the beam coming and scatter, no need to actually hit them so no smell of barbecued pigeon. Walk around the house aiming towards the beasts a couple of times and they don't come back.
After a week of use at dusk when they are seeking somewhere to roost, we are now down to one or two each evening, Madam encourages them to leave (she's evidently got an evil streak).
It works at long range (commercial units of similar power claim several km), aimed at the next house over (100m or so) and their pigeons scattered too.
Crossy, Thanks so much for this article. It’s on order… We built a ‘modern loft’ house with cascading flat roofs and the pigeons seemingly wear hobnail boots - a nightmare 🤣 I’ll keep everyone posted on my Jedi success…

Must be expensive in the UK as surely there can not be much of a market there as Australians have no desire to be resident there amongst such complaining individuals.
itsari, I may be British but I live and work in Thailand and buy my Vegemite from Thai suppliers. God knows how expensive the product is in London! 🤣🙏🏻

The only people who want Vegemite are Australians and so they have to import in relatively low quantities and this pushes the price up.
Not true… I’m a Brit and prefer Vegemite to Marmite. It’s just a question of taste… 🙏🏻

There is zero chance the UK is going to update 490,000 pensions for people in this position. Especially after means testing winter allowances.
Just give it a rest.
ps - I note an article quoting people in their fifties moaning about the pensions freeze. They don't even qualify for the pension for over a decade and they have started greeting already. Dear me.
Hi There… with a name like ‘the blather’ I guess you are north of the border. I’m originally from Largs so may I suggest that you tell your readers what ‘greeting’ is… 😂🤣 before you are asked to explain…

Hi Baboy,
Today, I’ve been speaking, for personal reasons, to Otto Bock in Bangkok and they inform me that Kenovo is an Otto Bock product and can be managed in Thailand, both at Bangkok and Khon Kaen…

Hi,
hopefully may be able to obtain some advice here. Good friend recently lost his leg due to a major accident. He is now due to be fitted with aa prosthetic leg ( above knee ) lots of conflicting reports. He has been in theraphy for some time but is finding difficulty using the leg.
Has heard good thinsg about the Kenevo leg which has chip with bluetooth caplablity that assists with the walking & daily usage. Does anybody know of hospital / clinics that speacialize in this . Some years ago we visited Queen Sirikit hospital in Bang Chang & they had a wing dedicated to artificial limbs .
Any help much apprecaited he has flown home to his home country but will be returning to Thailand soon & would like to look at his options. The Kenevo leg is available in Australia but at a cost of around 1 million baht which is out of his price range.
thanks for any help
Baby
Hi Baboy,
I too am an AK (above knee) amputee and came to Thailand many years ago with TWO prostheses, one being a ‘spare’.
The prostheses are made with a number of components and mine includes a ‘knee joint’ made by a German company, Otto Bock, which is very clever, mechanically, and has a normal ‘swinging action’ which, cosmetically, looks like a normal walking gait.
I have used this company in Bangkok and Khon Kaen, who have serviced the prostheses over the years, replacing the foot and servicing the knee. It is NOT cheap, but they also offer high-tech upgrades which include ‘bionic’ knees and are a very professional outfit.
PM me for further contact details if interested. I do NOT represent the company.
My suggestion would be to see if Otto Bock are represented in Australia and rely on their Thai facilities for local, prosthetics engineers.

I have had several over the years and the best seem to be DDPai models they use capacitors which seem to handle the heat better than L-ion batteries. The heat seems to be the big killer the heat behind a windscreen is rather extreme.
Hi andygrr,
This was the problem with my BlackVue DR650 in which the camera innards just collapsed with the heat.
It was also why I bought a battery pack with a dtac annual SIM card which is now installed under the passenger seat.
Works well so far, but I now receive about 400 messages a DAY about activity both in parked mode and driving which is sensitive to shutting the car doors and hatchback when ‘her that matters’ is out shopping… Does anyone out there know how to limit this reported activity? It’s driving me crazy (excuse the pun) but I can find nothing in the manual which addresses this.
Cheers!

I tried 2 of them (cheapies) one for Lazada for about 400 baht and another one from a shop for about 800 baht.
Neither of them are good quality clear video (especially at night), so I'm looking for recommendations from people who have a good dashcam system installed.
Details on where to obtain them, and also have them fitted will also be appreciated!
I'm in Pattaya, but can travel to Bangkok if necessary.
Many thanks!
Hi CanadaSam,
I’ve just had my 3rd dashcam fitted by CarCamKorea in Bangkok. They have an excellent range of equipment for sale and are very professional. They are available on Line. If you need to speak English, ask for Monzi, the owner, and tell them Martin from Phetchabun recommended them - no, there is no commission involved, they are truly a professional supplier. PM me for more info, but I bought a front and rear camera system from Pittasoft in Korea called BlackVue which connects via Cloud, to my iPhone 14 and whilst waiting for the installation, I met a guy having a 360 degree camera installed for about 10,000 ThB…

Bob,
When I moved to Thailand, I didn’t just want to board a plane in the UK and land in BKK.
I therefore planned to sail here with starclippers.com, from Athens to Phuket on a ship called Star Clipper. The 38-day voyage was absolutely memorable and I would love to do the return, repositioning voyage if and when I return to Blighty. There is a new brochure available on their website and if you have any questions, just PM me. 👍

Hi Essex Boys,
I’m sure you will find EVA Air an excellent, affordable airline and their Premier Economy is very comfortable. It’s a far-superior experience to Thai Airways. They are based in Taiwan and so I often used them to fly direct to BKK as it is an ideal stopover in their journey to Taoyuan Airport in Taiwan.
I would advise downloading their app and looking at all the possibilities. It’s been recently updated and you will find it useful. I don’t know if they have an STN-BKK schedule - I used to fly from MAN-BKK but the app will enlighten you.
Good Luck
Martin (my daughter lives in Clacton) 🙏🏻

Hi all, I’ve been looking at flying to the Uk using EVA air, when you go through the booking process you are offered seat upgrades, does anyone know if these upgrades are offered when you check in online and are they cheaper? I’ve never flown with EVA but I’m fed up of paying Thai airways prices

Cheap and affordable is very relative, just as a the length of a rubber band.
Typically, you'll need a registered and paid shareholder capital of 2 million baht, of which 51 percent needs to be hold by one or more Thai shareholders, minimum is two shareholders in total. The Thai shareholder(s) must proof to own the funds used to buy shares.
You cannot perform any work, apart from CEO on board member level, without a work permit. For a company to obtain one work permit for a foreigner, the company normally need four Thai employees.
Company tax is from 20 percent to 30 percent, depending of the profit.
As a retiree you can personally invest in Thai stocks, for example with a SET (Stock Exchange of Thailand) trading account, which many banks offer. Withheld dividend tax er 10 percent, and you don't need to do anything else, if you accept that tax. Capital gain on SET-stocks is not taxable.
Foreign stocks you can invest in and trade from offshore bank. You will not be taxed in Thailand of any gain, before you transfer fund into Thailand. Transferring money from abroad into Thailand is income taxable, if it's not savings documented from before 2024. You need to check Double Taxation Agreement with your home country or US, if you bring gains from US-stocks into Thailand. You will have a personal deduction of 60,000 baht and the first 150,000 baht is not taxed. The tax rate starts at five percent and rise in steps up to 35 percent of incomer over five million baht. You can use the search function and find threads with details about Thai income tax.
For remote work (probably not including Thai clients) there are special visas available, including the new 5-year visa from 1st June. You are officially not a retiree, if you work.
KhunPer, a comprehensive piece of knowledge to OP parafareno which should hopefully dissuade him from even considering it. Well done!

Sorry my post is correct, Thai Airways pre ordered the A380s in 2004.The A380s were delivered between 2012 & 2013, after some delays.
Hi George, I stand corrected based on TA's orders being in 2004. I love the A380 and loved the 747s. I'm trying to fly on Emirates A380 (A6EVS), the last one, if I can catch it on its LHR-DXB or DXB-LHR slot.

Thai Airways have also announced their have already sold all six of its A380 planes, that it purchased in 2004 and which the company put up for sale in August 2023. The original purchase price in 2004, ranged from 445 to 500 million US dollars each.
It was not declared who the buyers are and what selling price was achieved. That’s very odd, George… The A380 wasn’t available until 2005 and the first one was sold to Singapore Airlines in 2007? Have you also got ChatGPT? 555

Like many people in this forum, my online 90-day report was rejected twice over the past week or so. After renewing my 'retirement' visa at CW and updating my TM 30 there, IO assured me that I would have no problem applying online (just like I did for a couple of years previously). Did not happen. Now I am strapped for time and don't fancy another treck to CW. I will be leaving Thailand in a few weeks and so wonder if I can get away with not doing the report now as I won't be back for a few months. Will I have a problem at the airport before leaving? Will I be penalised on my return and/or when I do the next 90-day report.
Thanks for clarifying
Brian K, Kannikap has given you the correct advice. Many of the other comments are irrelevant as they haven't read your original post correctly. You are leaving Thailand BEFORE the current 90-day is due for renewal, so your entry BACK INTO THAILAND will automatically activate a NEW 90-DAY with no penalties providing you note the NEW 90-day date.

Can I get a re-entry permit if I don't have a flight returning to Thailand?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Jakob, I’m sorry for the circumstances surrounding your need to ask this question but the answer, as you will have seen by other contributors is YES.
However, one still has to appreciate that the RE-ENTRY permit has an expiry date perhaps linked to your Immigration Visa and it’s extension, so just be aware of this if you are, for any reason, contemplating a lengthy stay in your country.
