British Man Arrested in Thailand for 2004 UK Murder Case
greeneking replied to Video News's topic in Video News and Updates
The North Yorkshire Police said, 'We understand it relates to his visa status and residence in Thailand and is entirely a matter for the Immigration Service of the Royal Thai Police. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2025/01/27/lady-of-the-hills-mother-reacts-to-british-son-in-laws-arrest-in-thailand/ How do the 'string him up' mob feel now? The poor reporting and reactions to what has been written have been saddening. -
Thaksin blames Prawit for political turmoil amid coup fallout
greeneking replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, between the lines is where much of the news lies. Is it true that all 4 sons of the King are in Thailand now? Interesting if true, but whether any meaning can be made of it is not easy. -

Japan dethrones Thailand as top tourist spot
greeneking replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Neither are Thai people. I am guessing you can not be living here holding that opinion. That would be foolish. -
It is interesting how the shelves of 7/11 fill up with variants of Chang and Leo that Carabao/ Tawandaeng are kept out and the brief availability of Beer Laos was brought to an end.

I know a few Thai ladies who would love to go to Denmark, or somewhere similar. And I have just said goodbye to a Danish lady returning home. Next year she will come back with friends because she wants them to know why they should move here with her. -
How much do you pay for health insurance?
greeneking replied to rudi49jr's topic in Insurance in Thailand
It is too expensive. The hospitals are too expensive. Last time I used one the staff were numerous and generous with their time. The vast spaces were chilled so that I felt too cold. In the Hot Season. The room I stayed in was about 40 Sq. m. If the hospitals were more budget oriented the insurance premiums could be too. I want to insure my health, but I do not need to live in luxury while I am treated. Government hospital is too much the other way. Something in the middle please. -
OK. I asked myself. And I decided if an election was that close should I believe that I was stupid or dumb or gullible? I was not. A nation will not unite behind the winner if the winners talk like this.

Thai Tourist Police Bolster Security for Upcoming High Season
greeneking replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not sure how many countries even have a Tourist Police. Is it just a 'makework' organisation? In my limited experience with them they are very well resourced and very little used. I guess they may have some staff who can help with English speaking tourists. As more tourists are from Chinese, Indian and Arab countries has there been a change? Interested. -
Thailand’s Business Ease Ranking Plummets in Asia-Pacific: Survey
greeneking replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thank you for bothering to tell us a real life experience to explain the reality. Stupid, self flattering fools running the place. -
If only life was so simple. I know of many places where the business collects the service charge but does not pass it on to those who provided the service.

And nothing much about aggressive foreign mafia at all. Pointless.
