Yes the future looks very good indeed.

The way Skipp handles the pressure is fantastic...its clear there is expectation throughout our youth setup and that is a wonderful thing to have in the club.

We have been saying it on here for years, that the moment the club invested in a new academy the decision on our way forward was clear. When it opened many journalists said it was the best in the country, some the best in europe.  Its taken a few years and now they are starting to roll off the conveyor belt.  What isn't to be respected in that?  it seems its only respected as long as you are still the whipping boys of the other big clubs.   I get it that some other fans don't like it that we are regularly matching them but without spending but thats their problem and they have to deal with their own hang ups.

Oliver Holt wrote a very complimentary piece on us just yesterday.  Theres a few on here that should read it and stop talking the nonsense they do.  I get the distinct impression they quite loathe it every time one of our academy players comes through and it simply deepens their feeling inadequacy which is brought on by chequebook management.  I wish they would just grow a pair and deal with their issues rather than bleating out the same old b*llocks.

Everything good late on seemed to go through Lamela and Moura just didn't look match fit for me...Skipp did well again and I can see him being a regular soon.

Yes Oliver Skipp has stepped up quite seamlessly to this league level. He represents the future for Spurs. Luke Amos will be back next too season after the cruciate injury.

I'll say now in complete confidence that we'll have at least six academy lads playing next season.  I still don't like the way Walker-Peters is being so underused but he must have been given assurances to have signed a new long term contract.  Sterling will probably be Kane's back up and we'll have to keep a close eye on Troy Parrott's development. He's definitely one for the future.

555 Pots and kettles. The only reason that I have ever posted on this thread is to illicit that response from you and carmine. Thanks.

You really don't like it when the shoe's on the other foot, do you?

Sorry,  but you don't have anything to offer.  Have a nice day.

Yes but we still have CL glory to chase.

Can we get any players back fit before the Dortmund first leg?  They are top of the league and have just had a mini break but of course the premier league clubs just keep playing more and more fixtures!  Doesn't help any of our chances in europe.

Ofcourse i didn't want to get knocked out of the FA cup but it was one competition too much to competitively compete in.

Its the right move given the state of the squad available to him....less game every three days will help our league performances hugely.

Until we get better back up its clear we can't challenge for everything.....although our injury list has been particularly grim this last couple of months.

Yes absolutely right.  The squads decimated.

You remember us taking the p*ss out of Arsenal for making top four their priority!!!!!!!????

No, I normally only comment on the United thread. I did have a little flurry on this thread after the Spurs trolls had been giving it large before the Spurs/United game.

You are forgiven for trolling the United thread, we expect as much from the noisy neighbours.

The problem is you don't seem to have anything worthwhile to say on either, be it positive or negative.

There are plenty of aspects to last nights team selection and performance that you could comment on and quite negatively too yet you simply get into a childlike conversation with that other cretin on why you feel the need to come on here and troll because you don't like our observations of your side unless they are positive.  Get a life or put me on ignore as i and many others have done with Bredbury Blue, its that easy.

That we rested two of our best players when so many are out injured tells all you need to know.

In the event we were unfortunate to lose but Llorente is shocking.

I think we're going to get media flack for the side he put out.  he showed complete disinterest in the FA cup, borderline contempt really.

We're already without Dele, Kane and Son. So, he follows up by leaving out Eriksen, Toby and Sissoko!!  Didn't even play Lloris.

Saying that, even that side looked knackered, lackluster and there isn't a squad to my mind other than City that could challenge for four trophies so i make Poch right.  And lets face it, the media, in particular Sky and Talksport are always dogging us off anyway so why should we give a toss what they say.

Yes, at last we get a lucky break!!  I think his return will give the whole squad a boost.

On a footnote;  I have to say i've been reading some pathetic comments by Spurs fans on the usual sites, since our exit from the Carabao.  What did they expect with half a side out?  Even Chelsea fans acknowledged that!  i think we did well considering what we had available and showed a lot of spirit but i didn't expect us for one minute to get as close as we did.  And Crystal Palace is going to be tough too, they are no pushovers.

Oh my dear, why has Bredbury Blue put a confused emoticon against my post?  its so basic and straightforward i'd have expect any old local toothless halfwit to have understood.....get a grip will you!!!!

Strange !!!! woke up this morning and didn't feel gutted, can't remember the last time that happened after losing, anyway it was always going to be a difficult game and i feared the worst at two down but thought we done ok in the 2nd half, losing on pens and another couple of injuries didn't surprise me.

Thats right. They dug deep second half.

Anyone with the remotest football brain knew the odds were stacked against us and i'm not really expecting anyone other than bradbury Blue to make as bigger fool of himself and suggest otherwise.  I doubt he'll disappoint!

What was slightly irritating or amusing pending on your mood was the fact that this was the first year that away goals haven't counted double but we were aware of that, its just slightly ironic.

  11. Nice to see the usual valued input from R2D2 being posted on here.  Brummie simpleton????

First half we were very second best.  Pochettino made good tactical switches at half time and we were a fair degree better.  I didn't think we would win anyway some i'm quite ambivalent really.

FA cup fixture this weekend another banana skin in the making.

Yep my point has gone over your head.

I am talking about members in this Spurs thread jumping all over the Man City thread saying we are moaning if we mention an injury. And yet you guys have been “moaning” ad-infinitum on here about your injuries. Yesterday I was merely mentioning that we don’t jump all over your thread when you talk about injuries but instead of acknowledging that single point you are bringing our squad depth into it, which has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was making.

Actually not really true is it.  A certain City fan is persistently jumping all over our thread which is why nearly all of us have him blocked. ????

However, since this injury crisis is going to effectively capsize our season i think we have every right to moan.  Davies and Sissoko limped off last night but i do wonder if the latter was recalled too early out of desperation.  Neither Sissoko or Dier looked anywhere near sharp to me.

  13. 7 minutes ago, mrbojangles said:

It's not an argument. I just think the point has gone over your head.

For clarity. Yes, we are extremely lucky to have depth to cover the likes of KdB when he's injured. However, he is a key player and when he does get injured (or any other player) we are allowed to mention it without getting jumped on (we didn't moan, unless moan has a different meaning down south). Can't you understand the hypocrisy ?

No, whatever point there is has gone completely over my head.  You appear to be trying to draw a comparison with City getting injuries which is non comparable.  Messi gets injured but Ronaldo's comes off the bench to replace him......so why should City's situation my ours hypocritical?  I simply don't get it.

Ah well I suppose semis are a thing of the past for you R2D2 now you've found the blue pills.

Hilarious to consider some of you feel we should expect to be challenging for the title....teams who win the league are generally fairly lucky with injuries I will add to our list of 'excuses'.

Well it is R2D2 you are listening to!!  He's clearly back from his dogging weekend????

He has his opinion and he's welcome to it. However, the so called experts consider it a major achievement for us to qualify in the top four.  Perhaps they know a bit more.  Why do you bother reading what he says anyway?  He's only trying to antagonize.  And its not like he knows jack sh1t anyway.

Aah right. Double standards. I get it. Spurs can moan about injuries infinitum but City can't mention it.

No, but in City's case its quite laughable considering the replacements you have , most of whom would walk into another premier league team.

You're not putting up a very strong argument here!  The funny thing is, you go on about KDB getting injures yet your back up is so strong you don't even need him at times. A prime example being when you played Spurs in London. We were third and you might have thought such a big game warranted your strongest side.....but no, you left Sane and KDB on the frigging bench. Thats an example of absurd depth and makes City fans' moans extremely lightweight.

  16. 15 minutes ago, Kadilo said:

The difference being the depth in quality of your squad and the effect losing one player makes compared to smaller and less quality squads.

Not buying more quality back up players was and still is a calculated gamble Spurs bosses took and til now has proved shrewd as Poch has worked miracles.

The next couple of month  could make that decision not look so great and change the whole complexion of their season.

    Fine margins.

We don't have endless cheque book facility.  Anyway, even if we had bought in a couple last summer it wouldn't have gotten us out of this fix.

  17. 16 minutes ago, mrbojangles said:

I’m all for talking about injuries as it’s a key part of the game and you guys mention your absences several times a day but I remember us getting slaughtered off you lot for even mentioning KdB injury at the start of the season.

Yes we did because your midfield is so strong even if fit you could leave him on the bench and still beat any team in europe.  You're points going nowhere with this.

We are talking about going into a Chelsea derby missing three of our four top scores and a decimated midfield.  Its hardly like leaving KDB out when you have probably the strongest depth of midfielders of any side in europe!!????  Its a ridiculous point actually!!!

Let's see what happens tomorrow but it could be very messy indeed.

Three of our best four goalscoring options out, midfield without Sissoko, Wanyama and Dembele gone.

Then Aurier goes mad and chins his missus!!

    We need a frigging miracle!

    • Haha 1
  19. Thats Kane and Dele Alli now out till the end of march.

No news positive on Wanyama and Sissoko could be a month away.  Its also highly unlikely South Korea will make an early exit.

Thats our season screwed chaps and don't think for one moment buying a couple of players in the summer could have gotten past this nightmare.  Some things just aren't meant to be.
