Thank you. I know I am overthinking it, but over the years I have been hammered with not getting Visa and Extensions mixed up.
the easy way to deal with these issues is to get a legit competent agent.. for a nominal fee they will fill out all paperwork correctly...
yes, you can do it yourself but if it creates peace of mind - why not?

4. Her family - their expectations of support from the 'rich falang' will rise in proportion to the house size. And if you don't deliver, their bitter resentment will rise on a logarithmic scale.
It is not just the family - -

Yes, my wife's situation is very similar... in coming from extreme poverty..
I have lived near 20 years in her village where we built a home and then expanded to a compound for the family.
*** What I have found is that often times Thai will not speak directly - especially when they complain. It is not nice to say that someone is a dirty filthy drunk, so they might say 'I don't like that person because they don't comb their hair.' I have learned to hear what my wife is really saying - she might look at a big house as a burden to clean every day for the rest of her life - or being uncomfortably ostentatious - - but she may never say those things..
Listen to her carefully - you might be creating something that she does not want..

And from which sea in the landlocked Himalayas do they get this stuff?
The Sea of Hopes and Dreams...
Himalayan salt is rock salt (halite) mined from the Punjab region of Pakistan. The salt, which often has a pinkish tint due to trace minerals, is primarily used as a food additive to replace refined table salt, but is also used for cooking and food presentation, decorative lamps, and spa treatments. The product is often promoted with unsupported claims that it has health benefits. Wikipedia

I think he must have come in through the a/c - - ?? Truly as big as my hand and clinging to the wall, up high. I got up in the middle of the night and was looking for him when he fell onto my office chair and then leapt onto my 27" computer screen in front of my face... he could not grip the screen and was slowly sliding down.. I placed a shoebox below the screen and gently swept him into the box w/a piece of wood... I took the box outside into the garden and let him go near the pond. I think he has been around a long time.
Yes, love the lyrics...

Too much salt is an issue for me. As the cook in our house, I am very stingy with salt. Like you say, I let each diner decide for themselves.
From a health standpoint, excess sodium is not good for your heart.
Yes. Me too. The rare time I go to a fast food restaurant, I ask them for French fries unsalted - - and they oblige. At home, I use Himalayan sea salt and that in small quantities.
-
good restaurants are adept at proper seasonings - personally, I don't like a lot of salt - there are better flavor enhancers... and there is usually salt on the table so that should never be an issue..

and vice versa, fat guys generally have less women interested in them, and so it would follow they'd be grateful for what they can get
so many people are a little overweight or more so that most people don't mind too much...
of course, if you lay your hat, it probably doesn't mtter much to you...

Trick of the trade for you. Just carry around a bag of chalk powder. Throw it at them and look for the wet bit. Bingo.
Nah, lol, I actually don't like birds who are really fat.
Chubby is okay.
Certainly better than skinny, scrawny, and bony.
and if you turn them over, though they may have some belly, their back is never fat...

Yo! - you called me diabetes legs once - I may have a few extra lbs around the middle but my legs are still quite shapely... though it is amusing that you still like name-calling and fixating on a man's legs...
not that there is anything wrong with it...

doubled for you - not necessarily for others - she has her choices.
if she had a good time, maybe it would have been cut in half???

I have changed musical tastes.
While most people are trapped in their youth and only listen to music they grew up listening to, I have outgrown most of that music.
Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck guitar solos, most of Led Zeppelin music, is noise to me.
I don't listen to much head-banging stuff anymore. It's noise that causes anxiety to me.
Agreed - but I never liked that type of music - more Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Mississippi John Hurt etc... at moderate volume...
And last night a frog the size of my hand visited my bedroom... I caught him in a box and released him in the garden near the pond... so, one more big guy still alive.

Enough English to "manage" their foreign husband's finances anyways.
Would that be because the husbands are not worth more effort?

Actually, I always found it funny that some farang claim that Thai are stupid, yet even uneducated farm girls seem to learn enough English to take care of their farang husbands who can speak no Thai...

But since this land doesn't have a deed
That should be the end of the conversation. Wherever you are from would you buy land that has no deed?
I knew a guy who got a great deal on land that had no chanote. Very inexpensive - Until the real owner of the land came and threw him off.

If you have a large house with a swimming pool and land you don't need much to do. Life and happiness revolves around your family and property, other then going into town for food and supplies. Breaks are traveling to other locations that are of interest.
I made a choice a few years ago - between spending my time in resorts on a monthly basis - going here and there... but buying a resort style property was the wiser idea. All the comforts of home - we have a village home as well but the family enjoys coming here for a few days at a time and we have good help - this was a great choice for us and we go into the city w/ease whenever we want...

You seem to be talking theoretically, in practice it's a big No to that idea
That is pretty much how I live - as Tripper says - I have a pool and land and gardeners and fresh organic fruits and veggies... and not too far out of town - great views - it is like living in a resort..

yes improved a lot now
This is what I have seen also - it used to be much more common but it is rare that I see something like this...
The other day, a fellow tried to get served past me - and he was greeted and acknowledged, but the server continued with me before taking care of him...
Many years ago in the countryside, a little old Chinese lady entered the bank with a sheepish meek grin and an apple for the teller, who took care of her first - the teller, somewhat embarrassed and knowing it was wrong, explained to me that she is pretty non-fuctional and has been doing it this way all her life... the tellers now seem quite aware of this type of thing.
