Maybe you should know me before going off on me. Wife told me she could not have children. Ha ha ha joke on me. Two of the kids were not mine but I paid child support. Ha ha joke on me. I was unhappy when she kicked me in the crotch on the way back from the church and said straighten up kiddo now you are married (we had an open relationship which involved a couple of her girlfriends and wild drunken parties at clothing optional resorts all over the country). She made three times as much as I did as soon as we got a divorce. Ha ha ha joke on me. She married her millionaire boyfriend shortly after our divorce and he came with 6 cars and 3 homes all over the world. But she collected child support every month every penny. Why should I be bitter? But I had it easy compared to a couple of Aussie mates of mine.
How long ago did you give up that lifestyle?
Didn't you post that you're now 80?

Just wondering, if you have lived here a "long time"...why are your figures in Dollars...do you not think we all have to adapt to our new country at sometime. This is an "International" community of ex-pats?
Two factors answer your question.
1. Using dollars clearly implies he's from the USA.
2. He's indicated he's considering a relocation to Cambodia. Cambodia uses the reil as well as USD.

Beware of the tuk tuks. My experience - rude and try to rip you off at every turn. A bicycle rental is a good way to see the sights w/o dealing with them. The other Lao people are nice, though.
If I remember correctly, Bicycle rental was about 200 THB a day.
Great way to see a charming and lovely city.

See a good mental health doctor....(that could be hard to find of course)....much of the male "rigidity", comes from the mind...believe me, it works miracles....much better then putting rubbish unnecessary chemicals into your system....
........and in the mean time, try ginger, cloves chew them raw many times a day...eat regularly at good indian restaurants ????...their spices are a torture the next day perhaps for your back door, when you got to p*o0...but they do make things much harder !
Good luck and have fun but safely !
But, but, it's only in the mind.

Sat on my patio (shaded), shirt off, upright fan on to supplement the sea breeze, glass of ice cold coke, just finished watching last night's footy. Off to an air conditioned mall in my air conditioned car and then out to an air conditioned restaurant/bar later.
What heat?
I just willingly pay the freight for whatever it cost for aircon in the house. I don't worry about going elsewhere.

I am thinking out loud here...is it possible that the visa service companies have booked most of the slots to force people to use their service?
It may be worth looking into!
Even if that were the case what could a falang do about it and survive?

So that justifies killing someone, its premeditated murder, the driver had a samurai sword on board.....what reason is there to carry such an article in your daily business as a cabby......none, unless you are going to use it to hurt someone.
I think taxis are often victims of a robbery. Maybe that's the reason " the driver had a samurai sword on board".

I like dogs in general so sorry when a dog gets run over. I definitely hold the dog's owner responsible for negligent care.
I wonder if the dog became a highly rare pedigree upon its death?

Can't be that legit as the application form distinctly says that attendance in person is required.
Not quite true, mokwit. "Can't be that legit"
I had to go to Imm. office with an appointment and company escort to have my photo taken.
Took about 4 minutes from moment I walked into the building.
The service is simply one of convenience. Works well for me.

With all my paperwork completed the agent I use said it would take a week for my passport to be returned to me.
She explained this was due to recent changes in immigration rules.
I only use the agent for convenience.

very nice private room in a private hospital. What's wrong with being on a ward in a Govt hospital it was fine by me. Do govt hospitals not have chemo.
I've looked at and read some of the accounts of people who have a GoFundMe request on file. Some sound to me like they are legitimate. While others may not be so. The OP vlogger may be an exception to the truly needy fund people, but if he does as he says and pays out of his pocket, maybe he'll refund the donations.

Not paying tax in EU is not difficult either.
Tax evasion isn't limited to any particular country.
There are however a slew of loopholes to allow for tax avoidance for offshore workers..

Does anyone think of when you die and monky in thai bank? A good friend of me died and he had a lot of money in Thai bank. His family had to have papers from the court in his home country translated into Thai and then in to court in Thailand and where the case is still after 4.5 years. And a think the money are gone forever, only hime have acces to the account.
Does anyone think about doing a will in Thailand that will address any funds an expat/falang has in a Thai bank?

The only major broker of which I'm aware that won't make international wire transfers for U.S. residents is Charles Schwab and since you maintain a U.S. residence, it's unlikely you would be able (or want) to set up a Charles Schwab International account, which does make international wire transfers
Since when is this true? I've made wire transfers with Schwab.
To ADD: Cal since you wrote it twice, 14,000 miles, I wonder if your CU is sitting somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. ????

Well law is complicated subject that's why a degree is only a start.
You can only file a criminal complaint if you are the actual victim of a crime. You must file the complaint within three months of the incident.
You can make the complaint against a specific person or persons or against persons unknown. You can withdraw the complaint.
Compoundable offences are those offences where, the complainant (one who has filed the case, i.e. the victim), enter into a compromise, and agrees to have the charges dropped against the accused.
In a prosecution for Restriction, if it is to be made after the prosecution of the case which is the basis giving rise to the power of prosecution for Restriction, it must be made within six months reckoning from the day of prosecution of such case, otherwise it shall be precluded by prescription.
1-5 is what could take place.
As i understand it.
That is a great start. Thank you very much. i'm very surprised to learn that there's such a short time frame in which a victim can file a complaint against a known perp.

Do I understand this correctly?
"Criminal Code: Prescription (Sections 95-101) | Thailand Law Library
Compound Offenses. Subject to Section 95, in case of compoundable offence, if the injured person does not lodge a complaint within three months as from the date of offence and offender to be known by the injured person, the criminal prosecution is precluded by prescription.”If a victim of a crime knows the perpetrator, the victim has only three months to lodge a criminal complaint. Is the above true? Only three months to report a crimeCan anyone define a compoundable offense?CHAPTER 9 Quoted from the Thai government site:PRESCRIPTION"Section 95 In a criminal case, if the offender is not prosecuted and brought to the Court within the following specified periods of time as from the date of the commission of the offence, the prosecution shall he precluded by prescription:1. Twenty years in case of offences punishable with death, imprisonment for life or imprisonment of twenty years;2. Fifteen years in case of offences punishable with imprisonment of over seven years but not up to twenty years;3. Ten years in case of offences punishable with imprisonment of over one year up to seven years;4. Five years in case of offences punishable with imprisonment of over one month up to one year;5. One year in the case of offences punishable with imprisonment of one month downwards or other punishment. " -
