I do hope you are making a joke. If not, go siddle up to authoritarian fascists like Putin. For the times, Madison, Jefferson, etc were flaming liberals... the idea that leaders should be chosen by the people! That religion should not be part of government! Outrageous! BTW here is the source of the Madison quote, as Placeholder suggested I should cite it: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/421149-but-besides-the-danger-of-a-direct-mixture-of-religion

To Cruz, "interfaith" would be Baptists and Lutherans eating dinner together. Idiot demagogue Here is James Madison ("father of the Constitution") views "The establishment of the chaplainship to Congs is a palpable violation of equal rights, as well as of Constitutional principles: The tenets of the chaplains elected [by the majority] shut the door of worship agst the members whose creeds & consciences forbid a participation in that of the majority. ...Better also to disarm in the same way, the precedent of Chaplainships for the army and navy, than erect them into a political authority in matters of religion."

Mike Lindell Throws a Tantrum After McCarthy Slips Riot Footage to Tucker
Emster23 replied to Scott's topic in World News
It was totally reckless and irresponsible and should even be criminal to release all that footage. Prime source for anyone, foreign or domestic, who wishes to attack the capitol. It would not be that hard to determine where safe rooms are, all the surveillance cameras, procedures. Given the tapes and some time, most of us on this forum could put together a reasonable map of secret areas and cameras, other security items. And if we could do it, anyone could! ???? The argument that "videos belongs to the American people" is absurd. So do the nuclear launch codes...- 44 replies

“Formula for Peace” to end Russia-Ukraine conflicts
Emster23 replied to webfact's topic in The War in Ukraine
Here are the steps towards peace that were omitted from abbreviated post Radiation and nuclear security; Food security; Energy security; Release of all deportees; Restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, respect for UN Charter; Total withdrawal of all russian troops from all of Ukraine; Punishment for war crimes; Protection for the environment, stopping russia’s ecocide in Ukraine; New security architecture and security guarantees for Ukraine; Signing of peace treaty. To get there, at a minimum, Putin has to go. Anyone up for the job? -

Security beefed up for APEC with Putin participating

There is the possibility Putin will be turfed out by Nov 18. Could he come as a private citizen? -
Count how many missiles the Russians used for long distance terror strikes on civilians. Tell the World US will supply same number of similar range missiles to Ukraine and will do so in the future. What Ukraine uses them for is up to Ukrainians. That would be an "eye for an eye" I recall thinking it was nuts that Ukraine didn't keep a couple nukes when they disarmed in 1990's, with Russian promise to respect integrity of Ukraine borders.

Pretty much nailed it, but I'll add a bit. Who in their right minds would bet their "golden years" income on a pension in this volatile political/fiscal climate over having children to provide them with the basic necessities of old age? Children ARE the pension source. And let us not forget that those of you who partake of "working girls". Those young women send much of their income home to the family, which often are poor dirt farmers. So your "date" may party, laugh, etc with you.... but it may just be part of the great merit of taking care of your family any way they can. And lord knows the education here is so awful they only have the resource of their bodies to make a living

My home state, Oregon, decriminalized small quantities on all drugs, similar to what Portugal did back in 2000. In Oregon get a ticket or go into some treatment, tho not as aggressive at pushing for treatment as Portugal. Mixed results. Many just pay fine, or don't pay fine.... only 1% go for treatment option. Treatment is paid for in large part by taxes on legal marijuana (Oregon was near the front on that drug legalization). I suppose the plus side would be folks don't end up with a criminal record, which can cause problems in getting housing, jobs, etc... https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2022-04-03/oregon-decriminalized-drugs-in-2020-hows-it-going -
"The garbage consisted of plastic bags, liquor bottles, foam, and all kinds of plastic cups..." The ban on plastic bags in order to save the earth ended some time ago. When I go into convenience store & they offer plastic bag I remark about how glad I am that Thailand decided the environment has been saved so bags are okay once more. Or like most "crackdowns" they finish after a short period. Attention deficit disorder on a national scale

There is a TV series called "The Hot Zone" that is accurate about the outbreak and the steps taken to contain (and coverup) the shipment of monkeys, the first season. Much better than the Hoffman one... here's a link to IMDB with more info (if it loads....) the hot zone -
Uvalde report: 376 officers but ‘egregiously poor’ decisions

100 shots fired before cops showed up? Well, there is a good argument for banning semi auto assault rifles... make the crazies use guns with slow fire rate and magazines so easier for cops to put them down -
Tampering with voting equipment (a well deserved felony) and now she is taking it on the lam.... stop her, stop her steal.... "Court records show Peters left the state without permission, violating the terms of her bail bond that permitted her pre-trial release from jail in March" I'm old enough to remember when Republicans claimed to be the party of "law and order"...
