People planning winter vacation in the summer. At exact this moment. If dude wont show he is ready to open RIGHT NOW then thousands and thousands of tourist would buy tickets to Mexico, Dubai or whatever esle will be open in winter. He has to show his commitment.

Scientists couldn't even figure out the structure of the RNA. And even when they started to be able to, it was a long and laborious effort. The full structure of the RNA of the covid-19 virus was completely mapped by early January of 2020. That's years shaved off right there. And specific targets were found. Not so in older vaccines.
From there instead of going to animal trials, as is usually the case, they went to phase 1 which consists of human volunteers to do a preliminary test for safery. . They got lots more volunteers than usual which shortened that process.
Unusually while phase 1 trials were going on Phase 2 trials started. That's to test dosage levels.
And while Phase 2 was still ongoing, they went to phase 3. Well at least most did. Some, like the Russians didn't care. Phase 3 is where large groups of people are dosed so side effects can be determined. It was a full phase 3 trial.
So, mostly the huge advancement in technology,. That and overlapping phases.
By they way, they've started using mRNA technology on malaria. They already have some positive animal tests results. That after years of trying with older technologies to mostly no avail. Though lately there have been a few fairly positive results.
Welcome to the 21st century!
Thalidomide.
Phizer is experimental jab.
Sputnik is a vector oldfart jab.
Also critisizing sputnik and stay quiet about other vaccines in case of Speeding up a process is a hypocrisy.

Some years ago I was looking for a Condo in CM. Lot of occasions. Breathtaking views from the balcony.
Finally I bought a house.
Why?
My wife checked out the offered condos and were contacting people living there.
Many owners were trying to sell because they were fed up with the noise of partying loud Russians or noisy Chinese cooking with open doors.
So to buy a condo as a retiree is a risky thing if you're hoping to find peace and harmony. ????????
Russians are loud?
U ever been in Benidorm, u pretentious highbrow intellectual?

I am quite convinced that Sputnik is an effective vaccine as I've already stated. But Russia took a gamble with peoples' lives in order to score a propaganda victory.. And that's unforgiveable.
BS.
Most of vaccines now approved for "emergency use". I think u know what exatcly it means.
Phizer went tru US FDA as a speedball. Less than a year. It takes up to 10 years to test/register. Experimental mrna vaccine? Less than a year? Give me a break and gospeed!

So why order a vaccine, which has no data on its success....... Crazy
Today i saw a funny picture. For some reason CCSA moved Russia from red list to yellow list. Funny coincidence right now russia living thru its 3rd Rona wave.
So it gives a clear idea that not only Sputnik will be approved but even clear saline as a proof of russian vacination would have a go in thai MoPH.
Looks like russian tourists are only europeans crazy enough to go in Thailand en masse no matter what.

Jomtien will never be the same now.
Russians were last bastion against chinese "organised tourists".
And least caring by the way. Bad weather? We going! Right after tsunami? We going! Red shirts bruhaha? We going!
Russians were perfect lab rats for this "reopening". While brit consulting his lawyer if he can go to Los or no, russian is already packing his sleevless shirts and flipflops.

I know, I know. But the only people who can afford to not take notice of the catastrophic drop in tourism are the wealthy Thais, the ones with a cushy job, or ex-pats with a cushy pension, and money in the bank. Tourism was a $100,000,000,000 industry here. Millions of jobs. Trillions of dollars invested in infrastructure. Trillions. Something has to be done. Someone needs to take action.
Many of us did not like the hordes of lower income tourists. Dozens of problems existed long before Covid. And it is likely they have not been addressed, on any level. Less tourism will be nice for alot of us. But, my heart goes out to the millions who made a living from the influx.
Im sorry, ur highness, but some peasants need to address few matters.
Isnt now the greatest time to be in Thailand? Zero tourists, private pool villas are dirt cheap to rent, zero chinese. Private dining, private entertainment. If u looking for maldives-ish type of holidays thailand now is a place to go.
And them asq dining fotos from BKK Pullman and Le Meridien are looking good good good. U can even ASQ in a a private villa! Fool comfort!

What are these jokers smoking? 3.5 million tourists, from where? Australia's borders are likely to remain closed until mid-2022 aside from travel to New Zealand (which opened last month) and a few other "low risk" countries. These could include Singapore, Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and possibly Taiwan and later, Vietnam. Thailand has not been mentioned in the first phase and thus we can probably assume it won't be part of any Australian travel bubble this year.
Secondly, in a country that is proving itself to be one of the most totalitarian in the world, what with Buri Ram forcing vaccines on it's residents, Phuket fining and threatening foreigners with deportation for hosting a friend over for a beer in their OWN homes, Surat Thani fining anyone who drinks alcohol at home, and every province issuing fines of 1000-20000 Baht for not wearing a face muzzle, what makes them think tourists will put up with this nonsense?
Even those willing to be vaccinated, are not going to put up with this. Isn't the vaccine supposed to allow all our freedoms to return? If tourists are still going to be required to be muzzled in public, including on a Phuket beach, despite being vaccinated, then Thailand can hammer the final nail in the tourism coffin.
At this point in time, there is more liberty in China than in Thailand. I can't imagine the Chinese would be interested in coming to a country where there are no casinos, where the fun police nitpick every thing you do and can potentially deport you for not wearing a face mask. It's happening in Cambodia (Chinese nationals have been deported for not wearing masks or breaking lockdown orders), Bali is doing it and Thailand isn't far behind.
China has tropical beaches too (in Hainan). Aside from Phuket being warm all year-round (whereas Sanya is a little cool between December and February), there is no reason for Chinese to want to come to Thailand.
Straya the greatest! How would world move without australian tourists?China, mate. Chyna! China had 10mil visitors 2019. Australia had 400k. 4 time less than Russia.
They care only about chinese tourists. In general.

donations???? free ???? and from China, where is the catch 22 ... ????????????????????
Same with Phizer. Jabs are political leverage now.
First we jab patricians(israeli, americans, etc) and then all others. In Estonia they still jab seniors. No <deleted> they cross Narva river to get a sputnik shot without any queues.
So jabs now coming with obligations. Any jabs.

I would not call 85.000 bt a lot for a two week holiday. Depends a bit on your standards of course.
I would doubt the number of tourist more then how much they spend. I paid 3000bt a night for a nice bungalow on the islands. Not everyone goes for the cheapest of the cheap.
Peanuts basically
Yesterday it was 150000-200000. Few days more and maybe it will go even lower!
https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/2114975/phuket-banking-on-129-000-arrivals
He said seven-day tour packages in Phuket will cost around 150,000-200,000 baht per person

Wake me up when they come up with an example of a jab pass and then wake me up again as soon as they deal with a jabless kids issue.
There are still no approved jabs for kids. And toddlers not even on a horizon, Hello?

who the heck in a normal state of mind that has been vaccinated would come/go to a country that has not yet vaccinated it's own residents, why would anybody take such risk.... Ohhh I know, because it's Thailand 555
Its quite funny observation. Difference between westerners and russians.
On russian forums people cant wait to go to Thailand. Like eff with that, are u gonna live forever? We are going! Sangsom! Forced herd immunity!
Here folks are all careful. Everyone need a jab. Maybe 2025, maybe never.
Hopefully reality somewhere in a middle.

There is nothing comical in the fact there are several instances taking decisions on important matters. Or you want it to be like in Russia where only one body (Putin’s body) has a final word on everyt
Putin is hypocrite himself. Took a jab, didn't tell which one. Playing mind games with russians.
In such times rulers need to send a clear message. Invite million of cams, take a jab and end it. This is only way to do it.
Well, when there will be an opposite goverment opinion on FDA or EMA approval, u will let me know.
