  1. I support what he says. I and many friends have only seen more and more opposition to business going forward. Corruption has advanced at super fast rates. I wont detail what I know here nor what I experienced.

However, I do think suthep has now lost and has been outsmarted in this political event.

However, I do not yet think all this saga is over.

What I have learnt here in LOS, is that when our seemed time frame is apparently up, the Thai time frame is only half way through.

I have not yet seen court verdicts nor have I heard the fat lady singing

I think you are pretty right with what you have said and it would seem there is certainly a lot more to come. Now whether Suthep is involved or not doesn't really matter from here on in as he has been the catalyst up till now and irrespective of what people think of him, you can't deny he has certainly brought to the fore the corruption, graft and ineptitude of what was and is now the care-taker government.

Also, heading up this protest for 6 months has certainly been no mean feat and from what ever side you are from credit is surely due for this effort - wouldn't think you could ever hope to see YL or even Thaksin in his prime coming anywhere near to this undertaking.

The next month or two could prove to be very interesting for Thailand's future.

Very well said. I haven't given up hope on Thailand's future yet. Thanks to Suthep, the vile workings of the Thaksin machine, (regime) has been brought to light for all Thailand to see and ponder. Now its up to the voters to change the direction Thailand is moving in.

  2. If they had not boycotted the last election as their supreme god (suthep) said for them to do they would now have a working government.

Exactly right. A working government that will continue to be corrupt and lie about it's true intentions. Until reform and change can take place, elections will continue to unfairly favor Pheu Thai and the Thaksin regime. Thailand needs reform now so that the elections can be held without benefiting any one candidate.

I have not heard one TVF red supporter say that the last elections were not filled with corruption from the Pheu Thai party. Don't use the excuse that this is how its done in Thailand. The red supporters here apparently know this is true, but will not mention or address it.

  3. He said each side should stop citing legitimacy of its own as an excuse but should look to the cause of such conflict and resolve it.

Bizarre logic, if he ran "Thailand's got talent" would he undermine the winning singer? Would he send the army to protect the number 2 in the voting? To share the prize to end the conflict, and admit they both have talent, even though one won and one lost?

When he does that, he's effectively picking sides with the loser, and undermining the competition. That is not neutral. There is only one legitimate government, and that is the elected one.

The only way forward here is elections. In this case by pretending to be 'neutral' the competition he's undermining is 'democracy'.

This is not about elections. It is about ensuring all the residents of Bangkok are safe to go about their daily activities. Without the Army around, do you think the police will protect the people. The police do not have a good track record for finding bombers, and shooters. At least the military have the fortitude to attempt to protect the people. Good on you, General.

  4. Yingluck says Abhisit should be given chance to seek solution

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said Monday that Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva should be given a chance to try to find a solution for the political crisis.

"Abhisit should be allowed to try his best and we will monitor his moves," Yingluck said.

She said if Abhist manages to find a solution accepted by all sides, it would benefit the country.

"The government is open-minded to support anyone in anything that is useful for the country," Yingluck said.

She is starting to sound like a real Thai politician biggrin.png

Too late to make any difference now. rolleyes.gif

  5. Do the NACC really have right to decide when they have enough information from the defence? One could be forgiven in thinking that a decision has already been made and any evidence is irrelevant - let's face it, they've already decided the evidence of 7 witnesses is irrelevant.

It looks as if they have adopted the tactics of their predecessors, the AEC.

If you use common sense the decision should have been made. Has she been negligent? Of course she has. She has no clue what is going on in the scheme. Never attended any meetings. Not bad for somebody who is the PM and IN CHARGE of this trillion baht spending mess. She had numerous warnings from all over the globe to change it. She never ever listened to any advise from people outside the Shin clan. Now there are billions of dollars of losses and no money for the farmers.

I respect your loyalty for the corrupt Shins but this time they clearly went too far.

Right on! Very serious offenses facing YL. Thrown out of office? Definitely. Given a prison sentence? Most definitely. Should she abscond? Probably.

  6. The revolution of the puppet?

"Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said Tuesday that she has not discussed with her family and elder brother Thaksin Shinawatra on taking a break from politics"

Isnt it clear enough already that the majority of people arent behind her now? There is no IF, only when, and the sooner the better.

Right ! 100% agree, but I wonder why the yellows are so afraid of elections... because they have no "when" or "If" maybe...

Most of the red sympathizers here on TV just keep saying elections need to be held, as that's the only democratic way for Thailand.

They don't understand that voting here in Issan is bought (Corrupt). I'm not sure about the rest of Thailand, but I have seen it personally here. Paying voters 500 baht to vote for Pheu Thai is the rule, not the exception.

It is a must that voting corruption be eliminated before the next election takes place. Yingluck, Thaksin, and Pheu Thai know this, and don't want the system changed. The current voting situation is not democratic. All Suthep and the PDRC just want to see voting corruption checked and the voter playing field level for all candidates. That, my friend is true democracy.

  7. Let this play out. We have had to endure 6 months of your yellow friends and their armed thugs holding Thailand to ransom. If the Courts decide that this attempt to removed a legitimate government and grab power is ok, fine. But allow the pro government supporters on to the streets of Bangkok to carry their protests.

A legitimate government? Yes, they were elected. But this government has blatantly overstepped its authority and broke the law on numerous occasions.

I take it that you believe they can do anything they want, including breaking the law. You are dead wrong. Every country has laws that must be abided by including Thailand. What makes you think Thailand's government and it's officials are exempt from obeying the laws of the land.

    Please explain Mr. Yim.

  8. The delaying tactics for Yingluck's NACC case is working in Thaksin's favor, with the re introduction of the amnesty bill around the corner, everything works according to plan.

"You do it my way, you do it Pheu Thai way or die..."

Worried you are correct. Just wondering how her delaying tactics will allow the Amnesty bill to be brought back to life. I thought the 180 days on the back burner expired around the middle of May and no elections till after late May at the earliest.

I thought the Amnesty bill was dead, but maybe I'm wrong.

  9. OP, you did the right thing and were reasonable. Well riding with a helmet is the law, so you legitimately broke that one, and no driver's license on you (not to mention the fact that you don't even have a Thai driver's license) is also a no no. (And really it isn't that hard to get one). Just because your Thai relatives tell you that the price should be lower or that you should have argued, don't necessarily believe them. I meant they are Thai...you are not. My feeling is that the Thai police are more tolerant of an overbearing loudmouth Thai, than they would be of an overbearing loudmouth foreigner. Really 400 baht isn't that big of a deal. Compare with the price of a ticket in your home country..and that in USA a cop is legally entitled to impound your car if you don't have your license. So mai bpen rai.Do what you are doing, and keep everything in stride.

Yes, I agree. Not sure about the driver's license though. Maybe just in Bangkok you need a Thai license. I have been stopped numerous times by the Ubon police and asked for my driver's license. I just show them my Nevada license and everything is fine. Been doing that for the past 5 years. Maybe Bangkok police are different, but I have never driven in Bangkok. All over Thailand, including Phuket and Chang Mai, but not in Bangkok.

  10. More info on AIS Airnet:

I have been using this service for over 2 weeks now. So far, so good. Today, I noticed some programs were loading a lot slower than usual. I did a speedtest and found my download speed was at .3 kb.

I have been getting 9-10 mb regularly, so now I am very concerned if their is an actual throttle-back. I was told through my wife that this service is unlimited use, but maybe it is not. I'm going to give it one more day and hope my speed goes back up. I'll try to keep you informed on whether this AirNet service is really performing as advertised.

  11. So when the axe falls and YLs head is on the platter she cant claim injustice because the NACC has broken their own rules and allowed YL to have a lawyer speak for her since she would not know how to speak and defend herself. I believe even her lawyer can not deny her guilt and instead will be there telling the NACC that her deriliction will make a civil war and will cause chaos in the country. This will lay a terrible pressure and guilt trip on the NACC which may sway theit decision

Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I am getting an uneasy feeling about the upcoming NACC's verdict. I believe you hit the nail on the head when you mention how YL and lawyer may try threatened civil war if they rule against her. You never know what will happen as TIT.
