  1. “If (you) want a prime minister with full power, the only option is to tear up the Constitution. Whether tearing up the Constitution will be successful or not depends on the people. It’s up to the people if they want to preserve democracy but the election has shown that 20 million people exercising their voting rights to maintain democracy.”

Nope,... you gotta ask the army....cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifgiggle.gifgiggle.gifgiggle.gif

The Army is too busy "ruling" the southern 3 provinces and presiding over daily bombings and killings. Bet they are glad they don't have to rule the rest of the country in this manner.

the Army coming in now is most unlikely as Suthep is down to his last few hundred followers. They only get rally in evening as they take the rally to the office workers in Asoke and Silom.

Contrast the Reds Rally. They were here in bigger numbers and a long way from their villages and still had many times more people in Lumpin than Suthep has now.

It would be good now for the Government if they did have a coup. It would allow the people to see the corruption and bumbling of the the Junta that we saw last time. Then.... Sooner rather than later. A real uprising of real people marching for democracy.

Millions of people have died fighting for their rights all over the world. That this attack against democracy is allowed to stay out there for so long is damaging Thailand internationally.

So, I guess your vile solution is, "Just let the Thaksin regime do their gov't thing and everything will return to normal." If you think that Thaksin's gov't is real democracy, then I pity the poor people of Thailand, as they have the most to loose in this conflict. Thaksin alone is the problem with Thailand. Wheither it is Suthep or any other patriot trying to save Thailand, it is for the better.

At least, I haven't heard of any one of them trying to leave the country as the PTP glorious ex-leader did.

    2 words... kangaroo court

Oh, the corrupt courts of Thailand. They seem to be OK when it suits Thaksin and his cronies.

  3. but the government and the police had failed to bringing those responsible for the attacks to justice.

just as they had failed to arrest suthep

Imo, this is Thaksin's master plan. He needs the Army to come off the fence and declare a coup allowing him a second chance at getting his government back. I can't think of a better way to get the army involved than have mercenaries attacking citizen protesters.

  4. wave 125i manual .... love mine goes anywhere ..

Agree 100%. Honda Clicks and Yamaha's with automatic transmissions do not do well on unpaved roads. The dust during the dry season and the mud during the rainy season will play havoc on the automatic transmissions. Never had any problems with my 125i on the unpaved roads.

  5. there is only one outcome to all of this and it may be this year or in 10 years and that is Civil war.

Too many forigners commenting have absolutly no idea what they are talking about and really it is idiotic to read.

I hate Thaksin for what he has done to immigration policys in Thailand ..this has damaged many familys for NO reason.

Thaksin is a meglomaniac plain and simple..what the hell does a man of almost 70 need more money or power for..answer he's sick

Clear all the Shinawatras out they are parasites living off the backs of decent Thais

Thai airways being privatized is his new little play thing..all to feed his buddys on Wall St as he did with Thai OIl

this post demonstrates the poorest understanding of Thailand and the issues facing it of all contributions, from red, yellow, neutral, clueless, over the past 3 months

Would you care to elaborate your understanding of who the Shinawatras really are? I guess you think Thaksin is actually good for the country.

  6. Try to do that in Belgium:

No way you would be able to get near to government buildings and shout al that venom.

When will someone jail thet Suthep????

    Too scared of something?

Thailand on its way to chaos sad.png

Suthep said once the people announce the victory over the Thaksin regime, all her assets would be seized.

The protest leader also disclosed that on the shutdown day, all major government offices will come under siege by protesters so as to prevent all officials to work or serve the caretaker government.

All major roads leading to government offices will be blocked and all government vehicles will not be allowed to pass, except city buses which will continue servicing the people.

He said houses of Ms Yingluck will also be blocked by an army of female protesters, of Surapong Tovichakchaikul, and of Kittirat na Ranong.

For Mr Surapong, also the foreign minister, Mr Suthep said he would see ”Hell on earth does exist and will experience it.

They will face mass protests that they have never seen or expected in their lives, Suthep said.

The mass protests will also be held at the homes of the national police chief and his two deputies, he said.

So, do you know of anybody else that will stand up to the evils of Thaksin? I'm pretty sure that Suthep will drop from sight once Thaksin and gang are gone.

  7. Many of the TV trolls hate Suthep. If you are one of them, please feel free to offer alternative ideas on how to rid Thailand of the Shin wannabe dictatorship.

And you think this guy is OK? Hmmmm.

Let's see what the people of Bangkok think in the New Year. Suthep is completely off his trolley and needs a padded room!

And by the way, the PTP were elected by the people.

And you think that a bought election that put Pheu Thai in power and gave them carte blanc to do whatever they want and are above the law is democratic?

  8. Not only these two should receive the toughest sentence for shooting an unarmed red shirt, but Suthep, as well as the ones who support his insane movement full of hatred, should also be held responsible. This is one more proof that these protesters are nothing more than yellow thugs and criminals, rather than the "well behaved middle class and hard working students" that many on this forum prefer to refer too.

Somehow, I don't think you would support this view if the redshirts were the shooters. Just saying!!!!! May, 2010 seems to come to mind.

  9. Thailand needs some reasonable, level headed people to be part of this reform process, Suthep and his bloodthirsty zombie sheep are the most unbalanced segment of Thai political society, they should be banned from any politcal contribution until they can calm down and behave like adults.

I have quite a few friends attending the current protests. They are not fans of Suthep, but want changes. And they are hardly bloodthirsty nor zombie sheep.

Ask your friends how they would feel if Thaksin took a bullet. Most Suthep supporters I have talked to (despite their good education) would celebrate. Sickening but true. Does this make them bloodthirsty ? Perhaps.

The only change they want is to get rid of Thaksin. It's not very sophisticated and its not a solution.

They have tried every trick in the book over the last 10 years without success, and now they are getting desperate and dangerous.

You are 100% right when you say the only change they want is to get rid of Thaksin. That my friend would solve everything!

  10. you mostly-Bangkokian middle class protesters should be mindful that you are not the majority of the people, and that Bangkok is just one part of Thailand

    LOVE IT - great piece

So what's the solution? How about splitting up the country? Give Thaksin Issan and the north and let Bangkok and the south pick their own government. This is getting ridiculous.

  11. How would the police know? They abandoned the area after watching the reds kill protesters in cold blood without doing anything. The army had to come in and rescue the students, the police let it all happen. Not to be trusted!

Seems to me, that 1 protester was (perhaps) killed by a red shirt, 3 others were red shirts killed by (maybe) the protesters and the unfortunate guy on the bus who seems to be either a protester or a re shirt (depending which article you read), but who was certainly killed when the protestors torched the bus.

Support which ever side you want, but let's try to use known facts and not make stuff up.

    Good post.

There should a an enquiry into why the police took so long to arrive and then failed to act.

I don't believe the term "sniper' is determined by the calibre of the weapon.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

You will never get a decent investigation from the BIB under this current government. We can only hope in a matter of a few hours, this will change.

  12. I can hear the red pigeons rehearsing already - judicial coup, judicial coup..........

You only had to read the other paper yesterday to hear that being said , and being said in the context that it would be the third Judicial Coup at that. If it is not a Judicial Coup what is it ? Nobody had a problem with the 1997 constitution which was the first time there was a fully elected Senate (of 200 Senators). Nobody of course, that is until the Military Junta come along and changed it to its present mix of appointed and elected Senators.

    And your input is..............?

Or, a man named Thaksin came along.
