  1. If any of you are going to the AMCHAM independence day event tomorrow we are playing from 4-4:45...just a tiny little teaser of what to expect on Sunday night OR maybe you caught us at The Pintsman on Wed and want to do it all again Sunday...... either way, I can't wait!

  2. Thanks to all the customers that requested we go back and do another show, Chris and Check Inn 99 have graciously invited us back this Sunday 8th from around 8pm.

Same classic rock/pop flavour as last time and I'm sure Chris will come to the party with some of the best drink specials in Bangkok.

Keith Nolan's Love Gone Wrong will play the late shift from around 11pm.

Last time was a really great night and apart from playing I enjoyed hanging around meeting lots of people in a great atmosphere......fantastic way to spend a Sunday night!

Hope to see and meet more TV members this time around........

  3. Apparently if you live south of Bangkok you should be able to recieve the signal but North of Bangkok maybe, maybe not.

Looking at their prices and offerings it doesn't seem worth changing from True to me.

We are in BKK and have Astro but you cant get the HD channels here. Costs 3000b a year through a local cable TV company easily searchable on google.......

  4. Went to Bangkok Burger Company the other day at Mega BangNa. Wife ordered the Aussie burger and enjoyed it, it certainly looked good. I had the Bacon Cheese Burger which was one of the worst burgers I've had in my life. The Beef pattie was huge but just ground beef slop that could have been dog food in another life. The bun was still dough. The bacon tasted like it wasnt real bacon and it was overcooked. Just a tasteless piece of rubbish to me. I couldnt finish it.

There are no kids burgers or kids meals so we were forced to buy a huge plate of chicken strips for our 4 year old that I ended up eating in lieu of the crappy burger.

By the time you add in drinks, curly fries etc the bill was 1500b for 3 of us, 2 adults and a child. Way too expensive for what is on offer.

    Will never go back.......

  5. sorry mate its not good news.....True dont carry Australia Network as you know so either you have to set your own dish up on the roof just to get Australia network OR there may be a possibility that you can get Astro from Malaysia which carries the channel. But I guess that also needs a separate dish for you.

Have you tried this, it could be the answer to your prayers:

  6. Landmark charges 30B per hour.

No, Landmark charges 50b per hour. It adds up quickly. I paid 400b to park there on Sunday night for a few hours....didnt seem like 6 ?!

I'm not sure where the reasonably priced parking is in lower Suk,

  7. Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel and The Bangkok Comedy Collective proudly presents the biggest 2 hour stand-up comedy show by four of the finest comedians in Bangkok includes the award-winning Graham Wood along with Andrew Kingham, Tristan Botly, and Chris Wegoda who collectively will provide the funniest entertainment ever!

This is the perfect night to celebrate the joy of laughter along with the talented International live band “Wildside” who are known for their skills and worldwide performance experience.

Be impressed with the laughter, music and exclusive drinks together in a night of only 500 Baht net/person with free flow of wine, beer and soft drinks from 8 pm – 11 pm!

  8. Wildside have their normal gig at Imperial Queens Park...here is an old Wildside clip.. Steve / Greg any later ones..?

Whoa that is an old one......!!

Nothing new though as the video cam has been in getting a service/repair for the longest time. Steve has some good audio

My advice is to turn up at 8pm on Sunday, you wont be disappointed!

  9. And our Keyboard Player K Sa-teve is the same guy from the Blues Brothers Band.

I played the pub circuit in Christchurch, Sydney and Singapore many years before coming to TH. Our drummer used to play with Wa Wa Nee, Wendy Matthews, Dave Dobbyn, Jason Donovan and all the big 80's and early 90's Aussie touring acts. The Singer used to sing with Gerry and The Pacemakers and ran Radio City in Patpong for many years.

Should be a grand 'ol night ;)

  10. I like No Idea on Soi 22..... as well as being a nicer place than the Aussie pub, the beer is MUCH cheaper..... TV's everywhere and Dave will for sure be showing the game with sound

  11. Got strongarmed into buying insurance at point of purchase by Banana IT staff when buying an Apple with the promise of 'one free replacement during the year if it is damaged for any reason'

6 weeks later my 4 year old broke the display glass so we took it over to Banana IT at Paradise Park who looked at it and said yeah no problems we'll replace the glass in 45 days.

This afternoon we get a call (a month later) saying they can replace the glass but they are worried that there may be internal damage so they would like to replace the unit for us and will do so if we pay 20% of the purchase price?!?!

I could take it to fortune town and have it repaired for less.

Have asked them to show us in the policy where it states this 20% excess...no reply of course.

Worth fighting or do I just get the unit back with a smile and go get it fixed somewhere else at my own expense and put the cost of the policy on the list of 'things I will never buy again'?

  12. Thailand needs some sporting heroes that are actually Thai. Remember when Paradorn was playing at the top level? Tennis was going gangbusters here and I can recall times in bars downtown where everything would stop to see a Paradorn match on TV.

Cricket in Thailand: perfect climate, huge 2nd/3rd generation Thai population from the subcontinent AND the chance of actually competing at a global level, something that football here will never achieve.

How great would it be for a Thailand team to compete in a World Cup?! Cricket is one of the sports where they actually could achieve that with a big enough piggy bank to develop the sport

  13. Yep its new and very unorganised, some of the shops are not fully operational and there's still construction everywhere...my advice would be to stay in your local area and use your local mall. Do not come to Mega Bangna.

Seriously, we live right next door and I'm 'slightly concerned' about the general traffic chaos about to rain down on us this weekend.....
