I agree if you don't travel very much to SEA, their Roasted duck is "edible"...... but if you had been to HK, Taiwan, Singapore & Malaysia and ate their Roast Duck, I bet you will not be returning to MK for the duck. Theirs is only a substitute.

I lived in SG 10 years and have traveled all over Asia for many years as part of my job. I love Duck and have eaten it everywhere and I have to admit to LOVING MK Duck.....its the sauce they pour over it that makes it so tasty.

Kids love MK, I like it...wouldnt eat it without the sauce.....we eat there once a month probably.

On the other hand I find the 99b buffets TERRIBLE......

Jsat is a lot more expensive but you probably get what you pay for in decent service which you wont get form one of the local co's. They also do SkyIndo which could be good for you too.......

2 cops. They were extremely 'nice' about it. Asked where I was coming from and where was I going. Told me there was a big problem around Thong Lo with 'Dugs', did I mind if they had a look in the car and to make sure I watched them because some police 'no good, put dug in car'

Couple of mins I was on my way but yes, a bit dam_n scary, especially wanting to look around the car as the plant could have been on easily......

The real tournament starts next week and I dont think you can judge too much on what has happened so far. As of this point you just have to have made it to the quarters. Dont write the Wallabies off either despite an ordinary game against Russia and the loss to the Irish.

Many teams, England and France included, have not played all their cards yet. Wales and Ireland have shown all their deck and will be overtaken from here on in.......

Anyway, Scotland on the plane...quite possibly the worst rugby team I've seen in a while. England were horrible under Andy Robinson...coincidence?

The other teams flyhalves arent exactly doing any better than Slade/Cruden/Weepu. Jonny is a shell of his former self and Cooper is brilliant for 5 mins and woeful for the other 75. Having seen Steyn already on the plane the Boks lose their long range kicking option......injuries were always going to play a part as all teams are finding out now.

I still think its the blacks to lose but I also think the French are going to surprise through the knockout stages

Its not just having content and infrastructure to start, its also having back office in place, its having logistical systems to fulfil orders, a network of partners to install, a customer service and sales function.......

Some of my own business partners supply infrastructure to Grammy and i can tell you there is no back office in place whatsoever at this point. Can they do it in a month? not a chance....

I have the same problem with my Netgear router but I thought that was the ToT connection rather than the router?

Office is the best place to watch sports from downunder but as the previous poster says, it is on at the same time as the Nz v France game (utter stupidity in scheduling) and probably an AFL finals game. As union is the grandaddy of sports doubtful you'll get sound anywhere UNLESS they put it on upstairs in the Office.

Clubhouse can send sound to each booth so that may be worth a try (no pun intended!)

I am a huge Steely Dan fan and I get the intelligence in the not only the lyrics but especially the music....many don't.

Previous poster is right, its just a derivative of other Asian pop music. Listen to a Chinese pop song and Thai pop song one after the other and you'll be hard pressed to find a difference other than language.

Unfortunately there are only 12 notes in western music, limited numbers of chord structures that can be used around those 12 notes and also a limited number of rhythms so the possibilities aren't infinite. Original pop music is almost an impossibility in this day and age......

Also on ToT 9mb plan, not by choice

The last few days the reliability has been terrible getting server not available messages then refreshing ten seconds later and the site coming up without any issue.

I find youtube is better than our old True 14mb connection however streaming sports is impossible, true was great for streaming.......but alas no choice. I doubt that upgrading to 12mb will see much improvement as based on what I see from the 9mb package we arent getting much more than 3 most of the time......

On the plus side it has become a nice Sunday drive down Sukhumvit Rd at 730am from the BangNa intersection through to Phra Kanong, sounds like driving is the better option.

BTW the new Ikea and Mega BangNa is another planning debacle in the works........

The only food I have seen Thais turn their nose up at is Vegemite.

Other than that its fair game and I've never seen any Thai refuse to eat lamb based on the smell.

Same with the people in my office, never buy because its not sold at the local Big C/Tesco and its too expensive although I'm told its got really expensive back in NZ these days

Novotel Ploenchit. I did a conference in there for work so was comped a room...... around 2600++ including internet and breakfast, very good value.

I've stayed at all the places around there as my office is close and before I moved here I was always in one of them.

Plaza Athenee needs a refit and is always empty. Centrepoint used to be great value but the prices went up A LOT. Holiday Inn blah. Conrad and Intercon are the picks if your budget stretches.........

For what its worth, I work in enterprise communications and all the Thais in our office swear by the DTAC 3G service. Those that didnt have DTAC phone lines are porting their numbers asap and I am thinking I will do the same.

Fair usage is better too. AIS and True are 3GB then down to 256kbps. DTAC is 5GB and down to 384kbps.

I bought the hype from AIS and switched because with True I was having bad problems with voice call dropouts.

Less than 2 weeks later I have switched back. AIS was awful, even downtown in Ploenchit I could watch my phone go from 3G to edge to GSM1800 to nothing in the space of minutes. In the car I couldnt keep a constant enough connection to use internet radio. At home I was getting less than 10kpbs at times, not much point paying for that.

I'm on iPhone 4 and to me its a total fail.

Live out in BangNa but work in Ploenchit. Drive to work every day but cant listen to internet radio at all, even on full strength edge. In our office building it goes from Edge to 3G constantly and is pretty much useless to me. At home forget it.Tonight it says around 150kbps but real speed would be around 14.4 if I'm lucky

I'm switching back to True. The voice service is total rubbish but at least they have decent coverage and cheaper plans but most importantly a useable data service.....

I've seen immigration officers arrive halfway through a friend's set and harass him even though he had a WP and had played in the same bar for years.

I've also seen this. Nothing came of it but because a complaint was made the police were obliged to investigate and it was a big hassle for all involved.

@ChristopherWilliamsBKK do you play? Are your comments coming from direct experience? I know that people do play, for free and for payment, without WP's but its important that everyone understands exactly what the consequences could be if a complaint is made...don't you think?
