  1. When I get scammed out of a few baht I always tend to smile and think,' well done you got me'

450 baht, how will you ever be able to go on ?

Exact they got me...just want to report here to make sure they won't get others, that's my only point.

    "get others" ??? 55555555

  2. 30 USD at normal exchange rate 1 USD = 32 B = 30 x 32 = 960 B

But instead they asked me to pay 1500 THB instead of 30 USD, that's their "change rate".

    1500 B - 960 = 540 B in their pockets...

You assume they will be changing it to USD, which they won't of course.

    They won't ? You're not Laotian, are you ? ;-)

I am not sure why my nationality is important...

  3. Have you looked at the manufactured date on the sidewall of the replacement tyres ? Mich say 3 years on the shelf is OK but perhaps storage conditions might come into play.....whistling.gif

I have the same year truck, same tyres, replaced two a while back which are OK. I am about to replace the other two with the same.

Hmmmmm quite possible that I got conned somehow.

I live out in the sticks and will need a trip into the city to make new. What price for the Michelins these days? With no load in the truck, what psi each tyre for you?

They say 29 all round, if you go much higher you will wear them out a lot quicker. Mine is a 4x4 and found (for me) 32 in the front is better, probably the extra weight at the front makes a difference.

I wish my missus would believe me when I tell her this, she insists on inflating them over 32psi.. I have given up trying to explain to her.

  4. I have just read that Thai Smile is moving it's flights to Don Muang, Khon Kaen being serviced by Thai Smile.

This is a disaster for anyone wishing to connect to international flights at Suvarnabhumi as now will have to endure the ride across city, potentially during peak times when it can take 2 hours +

So now, we have 3 airlines all flying into Don Muang, which is a dated shit hole at best. The only reason I stayed flying with Thai is because it went to Suvarnabhumi, now I will fly Air Asia which is cheaper as I suspect many others will.

    Bunch of morons.

  5. It sometimes surprises me what some posters decide to get their knickers in a twist about...blink.png \

    totster smile.png

    yes,right, the mind boggles.

The fact that huge deforestation has taken place in order to produce palm oil is a knicker twister all right. Never mind, let's bulldoze it all flat and get rid of that pesky wild life.

I see your point, however that seemed secondary to the posters actual beef.

  6. Also check you HAVE a spare tyre mine was stolen not long after I bought the pickup, on checking around it is quite a common theft from pickups normally done in shopping centre car parks, they back up to your vehicle and drop the tailgates and work undetected undercover, I now have a heavy duty chain and extra strong lock on my spare after spending 4000+ Bt replacing it, some people replace with an old rim and "get you home " tyre to deter the thieves.

The thiefs target pickups with red plates knowing the spare tyre will be brand new and never used therefore easy to sell on. Ours was thieved in the first 2 weeks of red plate.

First thing I did was put a heavy duty chain and lock on mine.
