  1. Am I correct in saying that the only ORIGINAL doc that I need to take is the marriage cert, if so, do I take a copy as well? and about the kor ror2 registry doc, do I take that as well?

Also can someone point me to where I can download the application form for this?

    Thanks.

Take the original and copies. I have never needed the KR2, but if you have it, take it. Just use the application form at the consulate, a generic one will not be accepted.

  2. I stayed at the Phaiboon Hotel. Good enough. May be back in the area again in the coming days. Was thinking of the resort beside a lake that was mentioned - anyone have a further comment on it, and some directions? Also where to eat fresh fish cooked thai style or simply?

Thursday or Saturdays are good days at the moment if you want to meet up with a few people. There are a few hotels by the lake, the other side from the bus station, all pretty much the same price and quality. Best thing to do is to take a look and see what you fancy. I like the Kruepan which is on the access road to the Rimpao hotel.

Fresh fish - There are a few places around depending on the time of day, I'll try and find out some directions, there are some nice places on the road by the main TOT building.

  3. Does this thread still have a bit of life in it?

Well, from what I remember of Scott's bar, the expat community of Kalasin seemed to be throwing them back quite liberally.

Now that might just be a delusion brought on by all the beer I was drinking trying to keep up with them . . . . .

"throwing them back quite liberally" seems like an accurate description.. burp.gif.pagespeed.ce.RBpw6FUyRR.gif

  4. You will need the car 'passport' which can be obtained at the DLT, you will get the 'passport' immediately but will have to wait for the romanised plates. I have been into Savannakhet without the romanised plates and no one seemed concerned, but you should use them, probably more so if you are travelling away from the border town.

When you reach the border the first time the process takes a while as they enter your details into the computer, but at Mukdaharn they were very friendly and helped us through the process. I also know that there is an office in the secure parking compound that will complete all the paperwork for you and make all the copies if this is your preference.

On the Laos side things are a but harder (in my experience), help is given grudgingly with a surly look, so make sure you visit all the correct windows to get your stamps etc.. don't forget the mandatory insurance.

  5. Only solution Vet suggest is removing that part so in future it won't hurt itself.

So, why didn't that vet do it then, or suggest one that can ??

Or is anyone willing to help subsidize it's medical bills?

Why would anyone want to do this? I don't see how people subsidising your vet bills is relevant, was this the real reason for this topic?

You guys should be ashamed. Period.

You should be ashamed for putting a dog in a ridiculous costume for your own pleasure.

Maybe if your attitude towards posters here was a little better, you may get a better response. As it is you come across as quite neurotic. Responding to criticism with facts and balanced arguments works far better than a tirade.

  6. You need to change the provider to Truevisions Group (currently Truevisions TV I think). Give them a call or follow the instructions that run along the bottom of the screen every 30 mins or so.

No extra cost, just need to agree to the terms and conditions. It's something to do with the current concession ending in a few months.

  7. Naive or not there, there are a majority of very good people in every sector of Thai society.

Why do we have to focus on the bad tainted minority rather we by our action should encourage the good!

Absolutely agree, but the statement is not about good people and bad people. Unfortunately corruption is so embedded in everyday life here that even the good people sometimes have no choice but to succumb to get something done.
