  1. Did they arrest her?

Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Arrest her for what ? Being the democratically elected Prime Minister of Thailand ?

You are clearly leading a shelterd life where all news in the last year or so is filtered out. Well done you, it no doubt bodes for a much less anxious life, albeit ill informed.clap2.gif

All this make you anxious ?? Strange really considering that as a foreigner you have absolutely no say these matters, this is probably why you are so gung ho about the overthrowing of a democratically elected government, it's a shame that persons like yourself see no wrong in that the people of Thailand seemingly have no say in who governs their country.. now, what's the word for that again..?

  2. Please provide the name and address of the Toyota dealer that provided you with "second class" insurance on a new car purchase, and the model of the car and the approximate date of the car purchase, so that your claim can be confirmed/refuted.

I couldn't care less if my claim is confirmed or refuted by you !

No, why would you care about giving correct info on the forum.

Indeed! I would rather someone check for any eventuality than dismiss another persons first hand experience.

  4. Be careful that the 'free' insurance gives you adequate cover. A lot of the time it's not first class insurance that is being offered.

    totster smile.png

From the major Japanese manufacturers selling cars in Thailand, the "free" insurance is always (I hesitiate to use this word in Thaiand, but in this case, I am pretty sure that it is correct) "first class" insurance, meaning that it provides coverage for damage to the insured's car and passengers in accidents that are determined to be the insured car owner's fault and for fire and theft of the insured vehicle. But, as I noted, the limits of coverage may be "stingy" and less than many new car buyers are comfortable with and may not be sufficient to replace the car if it is stolen. So, it does pay to be careful and know what you are getting with the 'free" insurance at the time of the car purchase.

When I bought my car, the actual insurance being offered was second class, this was from a main Toyota dealer. I am not alone, it is well known that this is a common pitfall when taking the 'free' insurance.

Many things are well known, only a few of them are true.

And this is IMO not one of them. It would also not make sense to the finance company, since a more limited insurance (like second class is compared to first class) would leave them much more exposed to being left with the full finance amount uncovered.

Your opinion is just that.. an opinion. I have first hand experience in this matter and therefore can confirm that it happens.

In any case, whether you agree/believe is irrelevant, I think we all agree it's best to check the cover that is being offered for 'free' to ensure the cover is adequate.

  6. I've seen so many foreigners trying to do the same business. Some of their wives tried to sell clothes, some made a village shop, etc...

But I haven't met anybody yet, who made money out of that business. Just my five baht to your idea.

He wasn't asking for your 5 baht..

    totster smile.png

OP was asking for advice and I gave him mine.

If you think you've got a personal problem with me, please feel free to page me.

Well, he specifically asked advice regarding where to find shop fittings, however you decided to dispense your biker business advice (which most definitely wasn't asked for). In short I think your 'advice' was rude, you assume the OP is stupid and has not thought things through.

I certainly do not have any personal problems with you, how can I, we have never met (afaik). I'm sure you are a nice, well meaning person, which is lucky really as I have no idea how to page you.

  8. Have you used an online translation service to change your story to English ??

    totster smile.png

Being not an English speaker my self I tell you: It sucks!

By the way how many foreign languages are you capable to write in this same way!

OK at least you are a good typical member!

And this coming from....... I think his english is more than good. Yours are resentful and ugly in it´s words. And this is coming from a non native speaker.... We have also words for people like you BOTH in english as well as in swedish...annoyed.gif.pagespeed.ce.EWbqpZ7s0b.gif annoyed.gif.pagespeed.ce.EWbqpZ7s0b.gif annoyed.gif.pagespeed.ce.EWbqpZ7s0b.gif annoyed.gif.pagespeed.ce.EWbqpZ7s0b.gif .

    Glegolo

Well, struck a nerve there eh?

I ask you both to read my question again, It was a simple question, not criticising his English, or using 'resentful or ugly' words so I can't see why you object so vehemently..

Taking into account the OP's username DaveJones, I think you'll agree that this is a typical and common British name (think Welsh) and the words and style, although perfectly fine and readable, are not what I would expect from a native speaker. So I wondered if it was someone trying to hard to sound fancy, or whether it had been written in a different language and pushed through a translation service like Google Translate which is consistent with the sound and feel of the text that has been posted.

Glegolo - I think you post demonstrates your own insecurities with using the English language, I hope you get over this as I really do appreciate non native English speakers using English to communicate with us English speakers, if you didn't then my life would certainly be a very quiet life (considering my friends are mainly non native English speakers)

Below I have used Google Translate to change the first part of my post into Swedish, I hope this demonstrates what I have been talking about.

  9. Before this thread gets derailed any further by the likes of Totster, the issue that I fell victim to is as follows:

Some 3 entry tourist visas are issued with 6 months validity, and some are issued with 3 months validity.

If you have a 3 entry visa that has only 3 months validity, it is quite useless as it is only good for a six month stay.

I would be happy for UJ or any other member to kindly show me where this issue has been discussed previously.

One wonders why you didn't check the visa when it was issued. I always do this.

  10. If you applied in Laos you didn't need the tickets to get the visa they don't ask for them.

It has been discussed in various topics about the 3 entry visa only having 90 days.

Bali is the only place to get a 3 entry with 6 months validity.

Would you kindly direct me to these posts in various topics. Thanks.

It's a bit late now.. looking at those posts won't help.

p.s - I carried out a quick search (which you could have easily done) and came up with this post (among many) http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/530855-double-entry-tourist-visa-from-vientiane-laos-trip-report/?p=5033147
