  1. He isn't being deported. His visa is being revoked. Understand the difference and stop wasting your time.
  2. No, making a clear denunciation against bribery attempts and undue influence was quite ethical. As Fehr is attempting to appeal his visa revocation, a very strong warning that it will be useless seems helpful so that Fehr needn't waste legal fees and get his hopes up. The prosecution and judge will be constrained by law as to the penalties they may apply. And there is enough evidence for a court hearing. So, wait and see.
  3. Not if the victim chooses to press charges, as they have the right to do. I think she's thoroughly PO'd at being treated like a dog by this arrogant foreign pr*ck. Can't say that I blame her.
  4. That was a delusion to regard his residence as an unconditional and irrevocable right. So he became smug and arrogant and violated the rules of the house. Poor baby. He'll make out OK.
  5. Irrelevant. Try to think, bob. Anutin will tell you what you should do as well. Man up and take the test. Besides, you're constantly posturing as a forum elite for that low Brit peanut gallery. Fehr, keep bowing and giving wais and trying the bribes. Contrary to our experts, we're not seeing a lot the predicted results yet, however.
  6. The video is a pretty strong indication but what clinches it is that Fehr admits he "actually" kicked the doctor, with the laughable excuse that he "slipped." Good 'nuff. We keep ignoring his admission in order to maintain the favored narrative.
  7. Well, you can easily discover that for yourself in innumerable ways. Get creative. Immigration determines whether a foreigner is undesirable or not, as Fehr has discovered. Unlike yourself, he doesn't find it in the least funny. But he probably sneered right along with you until arrested. No pics of him sneering at the station. No, that humble wai--just as you'd do, LOL. Ostensibly (note) Immigration does represent the interests of the Thai public in keeping undesirables out. In this case a mob of Thais even mounted a public demonstration against Fehr. They don't often do that against a particular foreigner. Must be owing to, ah, something he did. Yes, Thais have a perfect right to kick out anyone they find undesirable for whatever reason, whether YOU agree or not. 🤣 You can suck it up or whinge and posture--who cares?
  8. An undesirable foreigner, in this case now famously undesirable, yes. Here the public servant enjoys the support of the Thai public--of which we aren't members; nor is Urs Fehr, merely residing in Thailand at the discretion of Immigration. He will be going home.
  9. Anutin is attempting not to let the bribe be left up the courts. Our authoritative members know what that means. The visa revocation is within his legal authority and up to him. Seems thinking rationally about what needs to be done.
  10. Paid and protected by our reptilian overlords. No worries.
  11. No. Came out against bribes, that we always claim corrupt the legal system. Disappointing to our swarm of Brown Envelope Bots but should be cause for applause, no? The deputy PM wants the process to go forward without any interference or influence. We've consciously distorted the point as usual to enjoy that feeling of perpetual persecution. Anutin has the legal authority to decide the matter the visa revocation, on his own. A crime or conviction for a crime isn't necessary to revoke a foreigner's visa. Being considered an undesirable, as this Swiss unquestionably is, is sufficient grounds. The court case is a different matter.
  12. Nor in Thailand. Lot of open defecation in Britain these days, however, owing the closing of public loos. With many public toilets now permanently closed and council budgets for street cleaning under pressure, public toileting or “wild toileting” has become a commonplace nuisance, from the streets of London’s Soho to the races at Cheltenham, reported The Guardian. --https://theweek.com/public-sector/960428/loos-lose-the-demise-of-public-toilets-in-the-uk Point made that it won't change the bigotry here towards Chinese in Thailand. Irrelevant, so sorry to spoil your moment of imagining you spoiled my moment. What we need now is a mob of Brits fighting for a seafood buffet, another cherished image. Maybe there'll be a baked beans shortage and only one shop will sell tins at a particular hour.

    Songkran

No, it's basically the same brainwave they have yearly w/ an added day and more events planned as it rolls around to different areas. It will successful in its own way. Unfortunately. Seems to me there was a report of ONE Chinese guy who misunderstood. No Chinese including him have reported any emotional upset, just your imagination. I get it that you don't like Songkran. Thank you for sharing. Many expats and even touists avoid the water throwing. In Pattaya it's difficult to stay inside for 9 days. However, conditions have much improved in recent years so travel by motorbike (for shopping, restos, etc.) is pretty safe if you manage to avoid passing by any concentration of beer bars. Next.
  14. OH NO! A BRIT! Expat, no less. After all those years of bigotry denigrating, stereotyping, and sneering against Chinese after our Brit forum posters gleefully seized on the one known incident of a little Chinese kid needing to poop on the street in Pattaya. How the screw turns. I imagine it will make no difference. Let's do remember this, though.
  15. Our posters with educations of much higher excellence than yours have already rejected the term bribe in favor of settlement.
  16. Plenty of bars and restos around Soi 4 where he could stop in. Nana has a couple of toilets on the 2nd floor. Let's try to avoid blaming Thais for once.
  17. Yes, not in the least funny when one little Chinese boy had to go in public once in Pattaya. Oh, the disgust and outrage. It became THE standard behavior of all Chinese seized by our bigots, mentioned here regularly. NEVER forgotten, still surfaces. So good, now we have a counter example. Do we know if he's a Brit yet, so as to start the excuse industry?
  18. Maybe it's time to give up this irrelevant whataboutism we love to whinge constantly. On the the other hand, would he have kicked a farang who could fight back?
  19. No, just said he has the legal right of appeal. If not, his supporters here would squawk about the injustice. However, it's basically been pre-denied. According the article, quoting the source-that-must-not-be-named, Anutin has also posted on his Facebook page, urging Sophon to reject any lobbying attempts on behalf of the Swiss expat. Doubling down, not equivocating.
  20. Actually, it's merely that ANF forum posters would immediately rule that the RTP will immediately rule it a suicide. Builds that posting cred.
  21. Bourbon. Much better.
  22. +1. Wonder what the problem is. The old code worked fine, just a matter of dropping it back in. Appears to be a misguided marketing decision they're too proud to reverse.
