Sounds like you're not very fit, so slight exertion and white coat syndrome raises your BP rather easily. How's the exercise program? Keeping track of heart rate as well? But if you haven't had a heart checkup in the last year, it'd probably be a good idea, I guess. Consider also the blood work.

No. I could cite studies, but we don't read those here. A respected book on the subject is Dr. Malcom Kendrick, The Clot Thickens: The Enduring Mystery of Heart Disease. TG/HDL, great predictor. Low carb/keto will get into range. In some, the diet raises LDL, but not a worry. 'Course, exercise helps as well.

Buyers remorse , 1.5 Billion spent on Harris Campaign…
BigStar replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Yes. Like a true phony liberal, she leaves the campaign 20 million in debt, and they lay off the staffers w/o notice and w/ no severance pay. DNC union launches GoFundMe to help former staffers hit by massive layoffs after election losses -
You've slightly misunderstood. The Embassy authenticates a copy of your passport. You get the copy translated and authenticated at the MFA. There are translations services at the MFA and around BKK who can handle it for you and mail the official translation to you. Be sure to tell the translator that the translation must match that on your marriage certificate, if it exists there.

Kamala Harris' Post-Election Message To Her Supporters
BigStar replied to rwilem's topic in Political Soapbox
Seems to have had a few glasses before the message. X users left stunned by 'terrible' video of Harris speaking to supporters: 'Who thought this was a good idea Meanwhile, like a true liberal, she leaves the campaign 20 million in debt, and they lay off the staffers w/o notice and w/ no severance pay. A liberal talking point we love. Trump has not been convicted of any felony. A biased liberal jury has delivered a verdict. Guilt hasn't been entered into judgement, sentencing hasn't happened. The whole thing will probably be thrown out and certainly overturned on appeal, as Merchan has committed so many potentially reversible errors.

The usual hysteria and distortion. Trump said nothing about any "goal" to be bloody. The reality is that getting all those criminal gang members, drug dealers, rapists, and thugs, at least, out of the USA will surely be bloody, yes, just as eradicating Hamas is bloody. Not all will go quietly and they have guns. So be it. Man accused of shooting NYPD officers charged, claims guns are being smuggled into NYC migrant shelters

Serious enough to be deported, as they have no legal right to be here and soak up taxpayer dollars that could be used for helping American citizens. They have their own countries to reside in. No, that's a leftist talking point. They invited all these illegals to invade and now they want to keep them here, expand the welfare state, and make them Dem voters. Entire families can leave, no problem.

Majority liking him more and more. Up to 54% now. 😞 President-elect Trump is enjoying a bump in favorability since winning a second White House term earlier this month, while figures for outgoing President Biden sank to a four-year-low, according to a new poll. An Emerson College poll found both men trending in opposite directions, with Trump's favorability jumping six points to 54% after the Nov. 5 election. Biden, on the other hand, has a 36% job approval rating. --Trump's approval ratings jump in post-election poll, while Biden's figures sink to 4-year low

Getting Old: Stoic About It or Endless Whinger?
BigStar replied to JK-Trilly's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Circumstances and physical abilities must influence mindset, of course. If you're naturally inclined towards a healthy lifestyle, or learned to wise up, then you stay healthy and fight, postponing chronic diseases to a short, intense period at the end. And you can do this in Thailand as well as anywhere, as I can verify. Otherwise, you begin early to carry around a belly and chase after docs, meds, and hospitals against a stream of ailments; and usually worry about paying medical bills. Not initially, but after a couple of years it became part of the plan. Pattaya's just a great place to be. 🙂 Time always passes faster than expected. "Life is what happens to while you're busy making other plans." You're going to be a senior citizen anyway. Me, I prefer to reside in Thailand. -
Trump vows massive taxes on goods from Mexico, Canada and China

Probably the opening card in the game of poker, bluffing in the art of the deal. Fortunately Dems have got everybody nice & scared already. -

You got links to the facts. You admit I was right about Wharton and you lied about it being an opinion. Now it's your turn to prove, with your links, that Trump wasn't a member of elite financial circles (Trump was never not wealthy and always lived an extremely wealthy lifestyle), he wasn't a celebrity🤣, and past presidents didn't come from, or emphasize, relatively humble beginnings--much more so than Trump. Otherwise we're done with your little troll. And my initial post shredding @swissienonsense still stands.

Pink I.D Card & Yellow Book
BigStar replied to Bangkok Black's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
At Pattaya City Hall, the manager had to sign off on all the paperwork as well. I had to come back another time for a quick once-over. The office lady called me on the phone when the appointment was all arranged. But I also got to meet the Mayor on the same day, and after he'd signed off I could proceed to get the pink card. -
Sole searching: Foreign man’s shoes stolen from Thai beach - video
BigStar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
When I first landed in Pattaya, after a week my new B200 sandals were stolen from in front of my cheap rented room. However, the thief kindly left his worn out shower shoes for me. Too small, too. My bad. The bar girls renting the room across the hall had warned me. "Thai man come here!" -
Seems to me that what the OP really wants is a trust she can't cash out soon as he's gone. But no such thing in Thailand, evidently. And his proposed amount is too small for a foreign trust to be worthwhile. In theory a lawyer or some other reliable person could serve as a kind of trustee in a joint account arrangement. But I've never heard of this being done. Obviously a risk.
