Any latest info about how much days before the expiration date (of the Non-O, in my case), one can go to Immigration? Is it still about 1 week, or do they grant the 30 days as it should be nowadays? (I guess I know the answer already, but who knows, miracles do happen sometimes.....).
Last time I did mine in Aug I managed to get it done two weeks before...but they did tell me they normally want the paperwork submitted ten days before, no more than that

They said the claim of 25hp during the release was a mistake and maybe linked to Euro4, but typically Euro4 doesn't rob that much power so who knows?
I went into BigWing the other day to try and put a deposit on a CRF250R , but the lead time was 12 months!!! Jesus Wept. Bigwing keep outdoing themselves.
It looks like Euro4 does rob that much power...according to this UK release it only has 18.4kW (24.67bhp) ?
https://www.doble.co.uk/newsitem/41107/crf450l-specification.aspx
And as for the CRF250L and a 12 months lead time that is just beyond belief!

Over the years I have noticed it's hard to find dealers stocking 250L parts and several don't even sell the bike anymore. It's really a limited market for this bike and the 450L will probably be even smaller. I wouldn't be surprised if it never makes it to the show room floor here.
'If' it comes (which I also doubt) I think we'll get the strangled version...not too worried about the weight as I read a load of releases yesterday and that hardly got a mention...but the power and price would be the killer for me.

I’ll call BS on that statement…petrol heads (I’m one) are into engineering as a whole, and appreciate bikes (in this case) for what they are and how they stir the soul. A case in point, I would take an RD350LC all day long over a CBR600…and you’re Bavarian Tractor (in standard form) is just a large commuter bike. It’s got diddly squat to do with ego or being macho.

MotoGP has sold out their allotment and say to contact the circuit directly...but one of the tout web sites has them going from 1,600 baht up to 8,200 baht (Marquez stand)

After a quick search I can only find a handful of stock bikes that are 200hp out of the crate. And all of them are top notch kit with chassis and brakes to match the power.
In 2000 there was a gentlemen's agreement between the major bike manufactures that capped the speed at 300kph...which lasted about 8 years until all the fervor had died down and the possibility of high speed motorcycles being banned from import had faded away.
I've never ridden a 200hp bike...but I'm pretty sure they are much safer to ride than the 1000cc+ motorcycles I used to hoon about on when I was in my late 20's.
As you go up the ladder in power you get used to it, when you go up a step you are pretty cautious at first, but after a very short time you are ringing it's neck...and then the search begins for the next bike to take you a bit further up the ladder...it is very addictive I can assure you.
Riding a fast bike in Thailand...well that's another thing entirely...and not for the faint hearted.

Under new policy starting this year only few are entitled, even if you retired on official pension Visa and live in Samui for many years, and HAD resident card... Forget it... You are not a resident anymore!
Would you care to elaborate on this? I got my card renewed this year and can't see any changes on their website regarding different paperwork required.

OK if you fit those cams you better upgrade the brakes or you might end in trouble.
I wouldn't worry about the brakes too much...they're up to the job. I will upgrade my brake lines as soon as HEL or Goodridge release a kit for it tho.
Free Spirts (and a few others) do a 4 pot Brembo upgrade kit if you really do feel the need for a bit more stopping power, and want to keep the standard wheels.

Realized it was the factory cam (these new W/C twins are all 8V SOHC compared to the old A/C 8v DOHC twins) on this 900 ST which on purpose designed by the factory to keep the engine tune low.
I'm subscribed to TEC's YT channel so saw this when it was first discovered...I'm still in two minds as to do it or not (fully qualified C & G mech so I'd do it myself no problem)…99% of the time I just use the bottom end grunt for overtaking (and no one has beaten me off the lights as yet), and rarely find I need more top end because there are very few straights on Samui...if I was off the island more, or riding back in UK then yes I could see it would be worth doing...here, not so much.

I'll second that...I bought an Air Hawk cushion (the dual sport version) and it makes a heck of a difference. I bought the bench seat when I bought the bike to raise the seat height a bit, plus I like the look...but my a55 doesn't after about 5 hours.

I think everyone is different, I started getting gout attacks a couple of years ago...and have slowly worked out what does and what doesn't trigger it...the last one found was raw tomatoes. Getting dehydrated also kicks it off quite quickly...luckily alcohol doesn't (except red wine).
Get some Colchicine (check with doc first) and as soon as the symptoms start take two...do not wait until the pain actually starts, it's too late by then.

Methinks Honda has got the press release all stuffed up. The figures just don't make sense.
Over on TT they're saying there will be two versions, USA and Euro 4...Euro 4 is the 25HP version
QuoteI talked to the American Honda PR guy. He said 40s for hp and 30s for tq on the US model. He didn't use the 50 value. But, also said he didn't have dyno values yet.
Loud pipes

I don't really mind the bikes (although there are a couple of really loud modified scooters somewhere close to me) because as someone earlier mentioned they are gone in an instant...what gets me is the tipper trucks with modified 10inch straight thru pipes that trundle past my house at 4kph with the driver continually blipping the throttle...it makes me want to lob rocks at them!
I run a lot of trucks...even this one makes less of a racket!
