Le Palais Hotel
Is not in Samui, it's in Ban Tai, Ko Pha-ngan District, Surat Thani 84280...and the reviews I've just read say it's falling apart...so they may not need to submit a joint inter-institutional memorandum to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for a diplomatic decision regarding the case...as it'll be a pile of rubble soon

"This demonstrates that the virus spares no one, including those who have shown scepticism. I wish him a swift recovery,” said Gabriel Attal, spokesman for the French government.
I don't normally agree with the French view of things...but I'm okay with this, apart from the "I wish him a swift recovery” bit ????

Thanks for the advice. It's certainly not me, nor the Chang (I don't drink). I can actually feel the steering column sticking as I take the corner, yet cannot reproduce this effect when parked and turning the steering column by hand. I certainly agree that a mechanic from the bike shop should take the bike for a spin to see what they think.
You don't mention if you've had any work done to the bike recently...have you?
I've had a similar problem in the past when I removed both fork legs for some new seals...when I put the fork legs back in I just did the bolts up in the headstock with a wrench...on the first test ride as I pulled out the gate I went straight on instead of turning right. When the bike was up on the stand everything felt normal and nothing was sticking...so did a search on the internet which turned up an article by Honda saying the bolts should be tightened with a torque wrench in a certain order or sticking would/could occur...I loosed off the bolts, torqued them up in the correct order and everything was fine. I am a mechanic by trade and have worked on many bikes over the years...this was the first time I've ever come across this.

Am wondering should the sizes be exact or should tube be a bit smaller and if it should be smaller. Should it be smaller in height or width.
Normally when you buy a tube it covers a range of sizes, it'll do smaller or larger than itself (obviously)...but ideally 'your' size should be written on the package or tube itself.
I'd say the one you got was on the small size according to this table...

Montien are taking bookings on Agoda, but nowhere else seems to be open for bookings which is worrisome.
Be careful placing bookings with Agoda at the minute, a friend and myself just did a round trip from Samui to Phuket and back on the bikes, we booked our usual hotel in Phuket and then tried to confirm the booking directly to the hotel...that's when we found out it was closed. Luckily the manager of the other hotel they own picked up on it and we stayed at that hotel.
Before you make any bookings call the hotel first just to confirm that they are actually open for business

Ahmed was one of the most mentally tough and focused young men I have ever known in my life. He has been skint the whole time he's been in Thailand, he planned a trip with his gf and then randomly jumped from the balcony. As far as I know he didn't smoke ciggerets. Plus he didn't say anything about his "struggle" to family or friends. We spoke alot and never did he mention anything. It makes no sense to anyone who knows him!
I'm with you on this, I only met Ahmed a few times, but worked with his father for over 15 years...he's not short of money and would have sent it should Ahmed needed it.
I talked to his dad this morning and he's trying to get on a flight here in the next few days.
Posters, please have some respect for his family and don't post wild and whimsical carp as there is a very good chance they will read it.

About 25 years ago i bought a HTL 500 , from Machine Mart - about 15K now - and bolted a longer top bed onto it. The HTL looks similar to yours
Not so handy for dirt bikes or quads.
Things that make you go hmmm, thanks for that Jeff.
95% of the time it gets used for the dirt bike, but every once in a while I wish I had a table ????

Yes there is a need to reply to that, are you so dim that you fire off such a rant without knowing what is being done right now in Samui?
Just stick him on ignore lom, I did it awhile ago, he's a boarder line troll that likes to spout off about things he has no knowledge of ????

See how that goes, apprehensive as to how that's going to turn out.
It's a lot easier than you think, I've been using this guys way for a while now and it's simple to do and doesn't require any extra equipment (or make a mess).

I agree KhunPer.
I have been an expat here for twenty years and have never come across cocaine.
Also - never seen 'physical violence and alcohol fuelled altercations'.
I think that some posters only know Chaweng and not Koh Samui.
I'm not having a dig at you Tropical...but I've been here 20 years as well, and up until fairly recently there has been regular drugs busts
As for 'physical violence and alcohol fuelled altercations'...Solo in Chaweng was pretty much guaranteed to fulfil that need every night...but it wasn't uncommon in Lamai either.
I used to live up near you in the pointy end, and even in Fisherman's Village there was always something on the go...we moved to the south of the island and everything is peace and tranquillity down here...but don't tell anyone ????
