Anyone know the official reason vaping is illegal here ?
Tobacco Authority of Thailand (Thailand Tobacco Monopoly)
Electronic cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes have been outlawed in Thailand since 2014. In mid-2019, the prime minister reaffirmed his pledge to keep e-cigarettes banned. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said that, "...the government cannot simply consider the economic impact...E-cigarettes will impact people's health and place an extra burden on the country's health-care budget". He went on to say that the Public Health Ministry should work harder to educate the public on the health effects of vaping, while officials should crack down further on the illegal sale of e-cigarettes.

I used to see them every evening, 100's of them, they used to fly over our house at dusk from Five Islands at go up into the hills on Samui to feed on the fruit. I remember one poor guy posting on here asking how to clean bat poo off this sandwash around his pool. he was on their flight path off the island and used to get bombed regularly.

For some reason Samui immigration don't like giving out Non-O's...my friend had exactly the same problem there a few months ago, he did end up with his Non-O, but it took quite a bit of persistence. It was eventually resolved when he got to speak to the boss lady in the left hand side office. The counter staff flat out refused and told him the same as you.
He had letters from Bangkok immigration, and Surat Thani immigration telling Samui to issue the visa, but they still resisted, it wasn't until he got to speak to the boss that it was resolved and he got his Non-O

ok so peple arent believing me lol, I used to mount an iphone in the hot sun on my motorcycle for like 40 minutes and it would shut down from over heating, maybe you guys arent driving for that long or not in the sun? I dont know
Probably more to do with your phone than actual overheating, I use my Samsung for hours at a time on a Ram mount and it's never shut down on me once

Are you guys saying the motorcycle shops stock helmets in size that substantiate Thai people have smaller cranial capacity
No, we're saying the sizing is different, I was in a shop the other day and some of the helmets has stickers on them saying 'Asian Fit'

Reasonable.
Looks great though.
It was over a year ago and the car gets used every single day and there isn't a mark on them...plus the lumber support is spot on

Find a shop that does it (we're in Samui so can't help there), they will have different grades of covering (it's not leather) and let you choose what you want. On ours it was just the drivers seat that needed doing but we couldn't get an exact match so had both front seats done.

Swapped back to the original rear sprocket, fitted the taller fly screen (modified the brackets to get it more upright as well), treated and fitted the gel seat and luggage...hoping to get some riding done next week if this ruddy storm ever stops

Yes, I know what the 'blurb' states, but.....
.....when I try to pay, I either receive a message stating 'no stock' or 'the store does not deliver to your location'.
You do not live on an island do you? It's a bit different to living on the mainland.
What I am ordering weighs more than 24 kilos.
I ordered all new furniture for my daughters bedroom from them and they delivered here, it was way over 24kg and I certainly live in Samui.
When you are on the website the items are listed as in, or out of stock, and that means the whole country, not just one of their stores.

At least they are saving on running costs with the solar lights.
They're not solar panels, they're umbrellas, the things underneath are way too precious to be allowed to get wet!

Yes, but you can just change the registration to your local DLT and then transfer the owner there.
Yep correct...here (Surat Thani) they want to see the bike and do an inspection, then a couple of weeks later you go back to pick up the plates.

Have just had them tighten the chain (again) after only 1,500 Kms - they tell me all is good
When chains are new they will stretch initially and require a couple of adjustments, once past this stage they'll go on for a few 1,000 more before needing adjustment again. O-Ring chains don't really need lubricating as the grease is inside the rollers, but they do require cleaning once in a while, you can do this with WD40 or whatever you feel like and a rag.
