Its Bangladeshi captain could face up to a year in prison and a $14,000 fine if convicted on maritime violation charges
At $68/Barrel that means the cargo is worth $20,400,000...I think he can afford the $14,000 fine ????

I would appreciate it if someone doing an extension before then would ask the plump lady if it's required. Who knows, they may require a Covid-free medical certificate now.
An elderly lady in front of me today was turned back for not having a medical cert. No mention of a Covid cert...everything else is the same as it has been for the last few years

Also not forgetting all the people who turned up from Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat hoping, and in many cases getting vaccinated here

That might have something to with the fact that restaurants aren't allowed to sell alcohol any more...who in their right mind is going to spend 12 hours in minibus (no flights any more) to go drink Coke/Pepsi!

He's got a mask on so I can't tell if his lips were moving! ????...then again, ordering, paying for and receiving are another matter ????

Places that were dark and even accident blackspots were part of the order.
Driving in/on Samui has been much better since the tourists left, and a majority of businesses closed down, I can't remember the last time I heard an ambulance go screeching by with its siren blaring out...as for the 'dark' bit, that'll be at night I guess ????

I am pretty sure that there was a dedicated thread about it but it looks like a lot of older threads have been deleted.
There used to be a thread about the eye doctor who had a place on the beach road in Nathon who then moved to just after the big roundabout (old immigration turn off) heading into Nathon

at at what expense? can anyone answer this yet? do we know what it costs a farang to be foced into hospital?
Without wishing to sound factious, probably whatever they think they can get away with, if you have high end insurance you might find yourself in the Four Seasons (once you've had your nasal passages pillaged multiple times) , if you're paying your own way without insurance then a tent at the bottom of someone's garden is more likely ????

As JemJem just noted, people aren't going to bother going out for a meal if they can't have a beverage with it

Edit/additions: Comments in other media says that police last night (5th August) have been telling restaurants not to sell alcohol in Fisherman Village, and in Lamai, and some places on Koh Phangan. One poster says that alcohol is allowed to be sold in shops, but not in restaurants.

I know you're up the top in the pointy bit...but I'm down the south end and if this is 'Leftovers' I'd hate to be part of the 'Main Course'!
