Good that the court ruled a girl was wrong to join a school knowing the rules then tried to get them changed. First it's prayer rooms, then all halal, then time off class for praying and it ends up with demands for same sex classes. If they want all that apply to an Islamic school.
"They" comprise half the school's 700 pupils, it was just the one Muslim girl who took legal action, and quite rightly, given that she and her parents accepted the school's policy at enrolment, the court ruled against her. Unfortunately cases like this tar everyone with the same brush.

In utilising multisyllabic words one would have assumed you have a better reading comprehension than exhibited....
By saying "outside of the South" there was an implication that those in the south haven't integrated and are seeking to impose their beliefs on everyone, glad you made the clarification.

Thats one the things I like about Thailand - the fact that in most areas (outside of the South) the Muslims have are integrated and they don't impose their beliefs on everyone in the immediate vicinity and community within which they reside....
Booze can still be bought in shops in area's of a higher muslim populations (also the mosques are not disturbingly loud).
Curious perspective.
Given that in the 3 southern provinces Muslims make up over 80% of the population, then who's the one not integrating?

If on a main road they won't sell alcohol either. Maybe the ones near you are franchises, owned by Muslims.
Actually my nearest on is on the main road at a petrol station, that doesn't serve alcohol, the one round the corner near the mosque does sell alcohol.

There are some seriously paranoid folk in this forum.
If you're that concerned go find a bunker in Tierra del Fuego.

First time for sure anyone can make that claim on here.
I doubt that, but Bob certainly has the biggest spoon on AsinineNow; strewth but he stirs it up.

Because Wise will transfer >50k to Kasikorn I often find myself making transfers greater than 50k from Kasikorn. So far I've not had a problem. When I updated my passport details end last year I asked if I needed to do a facial scan and was told that was for Thais only ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

Looking at yesterday's arrivals, I don't see too many 'devout Moslems' standing in the queues at Sadao

The geopolitical realities of SE Asia mean it's best not to pick sides. I doubt any country would be dumb enough to join NATO. As for "potential allies with a similar view on democracy, liberty and human rights", sure countries in SE Asia are just as flexible as the USA, UK etc.

They need to reduce the amount of rubbish and general <deleted> that get's dumped or discharged into the lake, and make greater efforts to protect the mangroves, otherwise it'll just become a UNESCO World Disaster Site.

Pity about that.
Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat aren't on the Andaman coast. Suggest you brush up on your geography and understanding of the southern conflict and it's extent.

Hat Yai's Songkran festivities run from April 12th to 13th.
As well as the water throwing 'fun', there's also a music festival, with stages at road junctions in the city centre.
