  1. Agreed, never venture information unless it's requested and required.
  2. Thankfully not a problem I've encountered, suspect your issue wasn't simply the account holders name.
  3. Not an issue, just make sure the anglicised spelling of the person's name is the same as their ID card; Thai ID cards show the name in both Thai and Latin script.
  4. Neanderthal in a monkey suit
  5. Yes, he was skinned, the pelt went somewhere, meat and bones to the dogs, claws as key-ring fobs, the skull ended up above the door to one of the core sheds.
  6. No he was an old bear, you could see from his teeth, that hadn't eaten enough to hibernate and ventured into camp looking for food.
  7. We had bears, both in the Siberian projects and in Kamchatka. There were guns in the camps but I didn't carry one, and certainly not when venturing out to the toilet block at night. I added a photo above of one that entered camp and was shot, they followed the blood trail in the morning and hauled the carcass into camp. The meat fed the camp dogs that raised the alarm.
  8. Yes, but no gun. But we had bears.
  9. Splendid, so you wouldn't last long in a exploration field camp; squat toilet long drops, with a bucket of ash to sprinkle to keep the the flies down.
  10. He should be in a care home, not the White House
  11. Ah, soft decadent Westerner.
  12. Certainly not a Potemkin Village. It's a major city, population of over 1 million. It's 20 years since I visited, but it's certainly a functioning city. I spent five years working on projects in Siberia, mainly based out of Krasnoyarsk. Soviet architecture maybe brutal but it's functional and the apartments within those tenement blocks are comfortable. I know I rented one.
  13. OK so you've never been to Novosibirsk
  14. Maybe they should just go back to the desert
  15. Heineken, great adverts, not so great beer
  16. His father, Charles Kushner, is a convicted felon; apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
  17. I think it more likely Novosibirsk than anywhere in Cambodia.
  18. Thanks for the update, that is good news, 1.2km away instead of 12km.
  19. Who would there be left to represent moralistic paedophiles?
  20. It is, you can see the location in Google Earth, appears to be just a short walk from the beach.
  21. Been perfectly happy with the local water delivery service; they come every couple of weeks and pick up and replace the empties, currently Bht15 for 20 litres.
