  1. I went there for my non-imm 0 visa, (marriage). It was the easiest and quickest visa application I have done. Flew down from CNX to SGN, overnight in hotel, next day at the consulate when it opened, gave my paperwork in and was back out looking for a taxi to the hotel 2 minutes later. The next day turned up just as the visa section was opening for the afternoon, when the passports are returned, and again was back out in the street looking for a taxi some 2 minutes later, complete with passport and new visa. Would highly recommend using this consulate.

  2. I have just renewed mine, my original book was full. This is a bit different to your case, as it appears this is the first time applying. If you go to the Marine and Coastguard agency website, I think its under the Department of Transport, then it tells you what exactly you will need to apply for a discharge book.

    Hope this helps.

  3. I hope to go to Japan for a short holiday. I was deported from Japan some 10 years ago, I arrived on a ship and the captain and shore side agent did not get me a visa so was arrested when I tried to leave the country. I was informed that if I wanted to return to Japan within the next 5 years that I would not be able to avail of the visa on arrival, but would need to apply to the Japanese embassy for a visa.   Since this was some 10 years ago I am hoping that there will be no problems if I arrive via airplane. Has any one else been in a similar predicament, or anyone have any helpful suggestions.

    Cheers

  4. My wife and Daughter used this office a couple of months ago. They were very good, and visa back within 2 weeks. The office is in the same building as channel 7 TV, as is a bit hard to find at first. This certainly saves on having to fly up and down to BKK.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Hi Taotoo,

It was a like for like replacement, after some 4 years use, (not abused either), the automatic transmission failed. Needless to say I'm not impressed with Ford's "reliability", and will not be looking to buy another in the near future.

  6. Just a quick follow up:- Got a secondhand transmission from place down by railway station, total cost with replacement work was 33,000 baht. This beats the pants off the 136,000 Baht Ford originally quoted, (albeit using a new transmission, they eventually came down to 120,000 baht, but still very expensive. Thanks to all the guys that posted helpful suggestions.

    Regards

  7. Anyone able to help me. I need an automatic transmission for Ford Focus 2.0 litre, 4yrs old. Have been quoted 136,000 for a new one from Ford dealership. Am looking to source a secondhand one, as it should be much cheaper than the dealership one. Any idea where I could get one. Joolz from the Bamboo Bar has already suggested the breakers down near the station. Anyone else know of any other breakers of late model cars.

    Thanks

  8. The Irish visit is an easy one ferry to Belfast them just drive down to Dublin or whatever my Mrs and me often go to Dublin for a week we once flew over and at imagration the guy was very nice said we should have applied for a visa first them just took her picture and stamped a visa in her passport for 1 week very nice and helpful southern Ireland immigration

Nowadays if she has a UK visa, then she can legally visit Ireland using that visa.

  9. unprovoked?

they started it by pushing the thai guy and then she punches him in the face.

ThaiVisa has terrible journalistic standards. Did you even watch the video before writing the article?

Take another good look at the video Metapod. IMHO the drunk guy in Khaki shirt, first of all tries it on with his mate in the black shirt, who doesn't want to know, and as he is doing this the tourist guy tries to guide the guy in Khaki away from his mum and dad, at which the drunken guy pushes him to the ground where he bangs his head. Then it kicks off from there. The guy in black, who the drunk in Khaki shirt was originally arguing with now comes flying in hitting all before and after him. At what point did the old lady hit him, she was arguing with him when he decided to punch her in the jaw, quickly followed by her son. Then the piece de resistance another drunken gobshite then decides to start kicking heads.

I feel that until these people who perpetrate this type of action start to get sentenced to do some hard time then this problem will only get worse.

Stop being an apologist for the dredges of thai manhood.
