  1. I have a Redmi Note 10 The hardware seems good, but there are a number of things I dislike about the phone: - WIFI came with a bug, had to update the OS to a new version to get normal performance - disabling all the advertising is a PITA, I still get some sometimes - the UI is less practical than Samsung's, takes quite some time to get used to it - usability of many system apps is less good than Samsung - user-side camera is low quality - volume control is bad, I seem to be unable to set different volume for notifications and ringing - permissions seem to be flaky, some apps still post notifications to the screen when they have been told not to for the money it's quite the beefy hardware, but all of the above reasons make me wish I had spent 5000 baht more to get the equivalent Samsung.
  2. TreeSize Free is a good tool for identifying what's clogging up diskspace https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free
  3. that's a very idealistic view which ignores human reality and instincts. real solutions do account for human behaviour.

  6. most are in their forties, but the odd teen here and there too kind of girls: city hall employee, hotel maid, teacher, construction worker, motorcycle mechanic, massage therapist, hotel manager, restaurant waiter, cook, golf caddie...
  7. it's still like that for me ... I guess time passes, eh. My time will be up soon too.
  8. it's obviously someone unexperienced that is asking. I found it's relatively easy to have free one night stands or free afternoons in Thailand, even in Pattaya.
  9. good news: https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/06/europe/us-patriot-system-ukraine-hypersonic-missile-intl-hnk/index.html Ukraine says it used US-made Patriot system to intercept Russian hypersonic missile
  10. yes, but that doesn't make much sense. there is a small street just before where the accident happened, but driving 40-60 Kph in there is reckless. the other possibility is Naklua soi 33, but that would be too far away from the accident to be relevant.
  11. aah, that explains why the car is parked in the middle of the large road, heading towards the roundabout. not.
  12. the article says Naklua. that road isn't one way, you can see the double yellow line in the photo. it happened just at the beginning of the road, near the dolphin roundabout.
  13. this is to a large extent irrelevant when considering the driver's fault, it's the driver's responsibility to avoid collisions, especially with pedestrians and especially when driving within a city.
  14. Silo **** (so far) Watched the two first episodes - I will watch more. Interesting story. I think I won't give too much away if I say the story so far took place inside a place called "the silo", hundreds of levels where people live confined. Apparently, it is set some time in the not too far future, but the people forgot everything about their past, and doing research about the past is forbidden. Objects from the past are called "relics" and are for the most part illegal. For the series I hope the story has a plan to breakout of the silo, similarly to "the maze runner" and have plenty of content after a breakout, otherwise this will become tedious and boring. So far, we haven't seen much about the technology the silo people master and many questions remain open, where do the crops come from, where are production facilities for computer parts, light bulbs, medicine, AIR ? etc. they have electric lights everywhere, but no elevator for hundreds of levels, instead they have "porters" which run up and down the stairs, which seems strange, because there already were elevators before the middle ages in our own civilisation. Travelling up the whole silo apparently takes a day. That's the kind of detail that disturbs me when watching a show. If there are too many, it becomes stupid and I can't watch anymore ????
  15. this is horrible. I hope the defenders were prepared against that kind of attack.
  16. I wonder what the driver's excuse will be as to why he could not react in time to avoid the collision.
  17. the autopsy says MDMA toxicity is the cause. MDMA overdoses are very very rare, but this still doesn't mean there was something wrong with the pill. MDMA toxicity and the risks to experience adverse effects, potentially lethal, increases with repeated drug abuse. the body's tolerance for MDMA decreases the more often the drug is consumed.
  18. is a part of your post missing ?

  20. yes, the photo shows the frame can extend
  21. okay, I tried out some recommendations from this thread. Mr. DIY - the shop in my area (Rattanakorn Market) doesn't sell reading glasses Big C Pattaya Tai: 2 rotating stands, piss poor selection, nothing below 1 dioptre and expensive: 199 to 259 baht. Tesco Pattaya Tai: same as Big C, but only 259 baht. so it seems my question still stands. I tried out some glasses and it seems I need 1 and 0.75 correction, I'll check if I can find something on Lazada. 0.75 is a guess because they didn't sell it. EDIT: So I ordered 2 pairs with different corrections from Lazada for 94 baht. Let's see if that solves my problem.
