Good day,
Although I have traveled on a non immigrant visa (based on marriage) I have never stayed more than 90 days, and very doubtful if we will stay permanently.
I always have a return ticket. Will I have to get the medical insurance as proposed.
Thank you.

Chaeng Wattana immigration does not ask for TM30 reports.
Again, thank you very much.

Two completely different Acts.
Whether you have to file a new TM30 when returning to the Kingdom, will depend or your local Immigrations interpretation and enforcement under the Immigration Act. (which office do you report to?)
A Yellow Tabien Baan is issued under the 'Civil Registration Act' and is determined by your local Amphurs requirements, nothing to do with Immigration.
Thanks Tanoshi, as my wifes house is in Nawamin 74 I believe it will be Chang Watthana.

Having a yellow house book does not change the requirements for TM30 reporting.
Whether you have do it every time you leave and return depends upon the office you report to.
Thanks Ubonjoe.

If one is registered on a Yellow Tabien Baan (Wifes house) but is only in the country for f ior less than full time ( i.e 3 months in 3 months out) does a TM 30 have to be submitted every time one returns to Thailand?

You can do it at border crossing. You can depart Thailand, enter the other country and then turn around and come right back.
Thanks everybody. Just like to say I always get good information for all my questions, thank you.

Just to answer this part, not required, so long as you are on the one year non-O multiple entry visa, you can stay for 90 days per entry and each entry can be extended once for a further 60 days, so in theory you would have to leave Thailand every 150 days (or less if required), right up to the enter Thailand before date that is printed on your visa, after the last entry and the visa has expired, then you can either extend by one year or a further 60 days, if you wanted to leave Thailand and return during that period, you could get a reentry permit to keep that last permission to stay alive, if you had extended for only 60 days, the reentry permit would only be worth doing if you had enough days remaining on the permission to stay, i.e. more than say 90 days or so, otherwise you could just enter on a visa exempt entry for 30 days and extend that by a further 60 days, although a reentry permit would be 900 Baht cheaper.
Thanks Mattd. Just to clear something up for me. When you say "Leave Thailand" can I just go over the border, just before the allowed 90 days, to say Laos or Cambodia and then return on my multi entry visa. If so how long must I stay outside Thailand? Cheers.

You can get a 60 day extension to visit your wife or child of each 90 day entry.
You can also apply for a one year extension of stay during the last 30 days of any 90 day entry. You would need 400k baht in a Thai bank in your name only for 2 months or proof of 40k baht.
A re-entry permit is not needed since the visa allows unlimited entries for a year from the date of issue.
Thanks Ubonjoe. If I wish to extend for 60 days after a 90 day visit do I also need to have 400 k in my Thai bank account. I realise for a one year extension I do.

Good day,
I understand from the Royal Thai Embassy in South Africa that I can get a Multi Entry Non Immigrant Visa Category "O" (Thai Family).
The validity of this would be 1 year for multi entries not exceeding 90 days per visit. Question. This being so, can the 90 day visits be extended at all, also are re-entry permits required for each visit?
Thank you

Chiang Mai is strict on TM30, and I paid THB 1,600 fine end of 2016. After returning from abroad shortly after, I went to the TM30-office of CNX Immigration at Promenada on 1st floor to do a new TM30, but also mentioned that I find it somewhat unfair to re-introduce a law from 1979 without foreigners being informed in any way. The lady then asked how many times a year I would travel abroad, my answer was 4, and I pointed out that I find it stupid to report to immigration each time that I am returning to my own and only house. The answer was: "forget about TM30 during the year; just do it the last time you return from abroad before you renew your extension of stay based on retirement". But I took them by their words and go there after each return, and they are getting increasingly upset when they see that my renewal date is still far away. TiT.....
Thanks for all the replies.
It seems to me that, as previously mentioned, each office has it's own rules and thoughts. I understand that it is for the house owner to submit the form so why are people, the visitor/guest/alien or whatever, going to the offices to fill in/submit the TM30?
If the house owner does not submit the form is there any comeback on the visitor/guest?
-
Good day,
I am wondering if it is essential that a TM 30 must be presented if the "alien" is the spouse of the house holder/owner?
If so how does the house owner have to take it to immigration personally or is it possible to hand it in to the nearest police station?
Thank you.

Nothing to be nervous about. They aren't looking for reasons not to give you an extension. They are 'programmed' to ensure the paperwork meets the standards their line boss requires to sign off. If for any reason somethings is not right you will be able to go back with the right document. Don't leave it to the last day just in case there is a problem with your paperwork. You can apply within the last 30 days of your current 90 day stay and the extension will start on day 91 regardless of how early you apply.
Thank you all very much.

Yes it does.
It does get busy. It’s usuall best to get there early when it opens, or just before they issue the last ticket, which I believe is 15:30. Don’t go late morning as they stop for lunch at 12:00, which adds an hour to the process.
Thanks again Elviajero. It's just that this will be the first time I shall be applying for the extension based on marriage, or anything else for that matter,so good at least to know exactly where and when to go. Things I have read in the past of the whole procedure make me a bit nervous. ?

You can extend an entry from a visa exempt or tourist visa for 30 days for a fee of 1900 baht.
You can apply for it at the immigration office in Chaiyaphum.
Thank you Ubonjoe, is there an immigration office in Chaiyaphum City?

Good Day,
I have been travelling to Thailand to see my Thai wife sometimes on Visa Exempt and other times on Tourist Visa, depending on my time off.
I have never tried to get either of these extended. I would like to find if I can extend either, if so how much does it cost, for how long and where would I have to go to obtain the extension, I would be staying in Chaiyaphum.
Many thanks and regards

That seems to be odd information you got since their website does not mention a 2 entry non-o visa. Only single and multiple entry visa.
Source: http://www.thaiembassy.org/pretoria/en/services/29812-Non-Immigrant-Visa.html
Edit: Same on the MFA website: http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/4908/15398-Issuance-of-Visa.html
They stopped issuing 2 entry non immigrant visas when the multiple entry visa became available.
Thanks guys, I will send to Embassy visa section so they visit their own website.

Mr Ubonjoe, your reply holds good for Indian too. Thsts why i asked gentleman of his nationality. Thanks for reply.
Thanks for your replies Ubonjoe and Master Jairam.
I contacted the embassy again to clarify this matter. They say "This information is new to them, they only issue multiple visas to tourists. For Non-immigrant visa they can/do issue double entry and do not issue multiple unless instruction received from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand.
I do not know if the fact that this is the Royal Thai Embassy, Pretoria, South Africa makes any difference.

When I uploaded the documents (Ist. time of trying this registration) I could not see that it had been accepted. Is there such a thing i.e the Paper Clip sign?
Thank you
