All 64 World Cup matches can be watched through four free TV channels on every system — the Royal Army-owned TV Channel 5, BBTV’s Channel 7, RS’s Channel 8 and Channel 11.

Channel 5 will broadcast the opening and final matches from Brazil in high definition via its digital terrestrial system. Its network covers more than 50% of the population. The army-run channel will broadcast 38 games.

Channel 7 will broadcast 29 matches, Channel 8 will air 56 matches and Channel 11 will broadcast all 64 matches.

Ong-Art Singlumpong, managing director of RS’s Channel 8, said Fifa, the World Cup organiser, has accepted the new conditions for RS and approved the broadcast on channels 5, 7 and 8, while the green light for Channel 11 is still pending.

For football fans who want to watch more than the kick-off, they can access pre-competition, rerun matches, sport training and exclusive programmes directly from the Fifa feed, which is being aired for the first time in Thailand on RS’s World Cup Channel.

Absolute balderdash. My son contracted the disease in Canada or do you believe also that it does not cross borders. It is a very mild illness but is quite traumatic for younger kids -- especially when the mouth is infected.

When did your wife call, was it in relation to the new receivers or the recent encryption changeover? Also it is obvious to no one that your wife is Thai, neither is it obvious how she worded the question or interpreted the response. Perhaps you should try calling yourself and talk to them 1st hand rather than engaging in Chinese whispers... they do have English speaking customer service reps... and yes Gold and Platinum are still available but not without the correct receiver

Either pay the money for the new hardware and enjoy the much improved quality that HD brings or.... watch a blank screen and continue whining ad nauseum. Unfortunately some will always resist progress; I guess you expect them to give you a brand new piece of hardware free and a nice shiny new HD TV to enjoy the improved service on?!

I was incandescent last evening when True Non-Visions decided to blank out the final stages of the Scottish Open golf tournament at 2300. My excitement had been building over the previous two hours when the result was more and more in doubt and it was becoming a very much nip and tuck affair. At the end of the month my box goes back, with the unpaid monthly invoice, and if they cock up the showing of The Open this week I shall be taking a 4 lb hammer to it before handing it in. Enough is enough.

Anybody advising me that I need a course in anger management can stick his advice where the sun doesn't shine.

They certainly did. My wife also called up to ask was it necessary to change our box? Paying the 3500 demanded by the thieves at True (what an ironic name).

My wife was informed that if we did not require HD service then we could continue to use our existing box - fine, no worries there.

After the 'big change' we now have no GOLD or PLAT service - a service we PAY for.

My wife called UNTRUTH again only to be told we must buy the 3500 THB box.

I'm afraid in Thailand you often get the answer you want to hear. The pertinent question is when did your wife call? What the True staff told you was in fact "true" up to the much advertised cut off date/ addition of extra HD channels.

When they released the HD receiver and first added HD, if you had phoned and said "do I need the new HD receiver to continue watching True but not the HD channels?" they would have been quite correct in saying no, you can continue to watch the SD content on your old receiver. As for them "demanding" money from you, I think you are just being melodramatic.

The recent upgrade to both encoding and encryption services, coinciding with the additional HD content, has now changed that former "truth"... but as far as I am aware they have no psychic service staff able to foresee these future upgrades on their customer service team!

Please everyone just stop moaning and get the new receiver if you want the service, it's a much better machine and the HD channels and recording options are well worth the cost. Simply cancel your old sub and start a new one, 2,000 baht initial deposit per receiver and fantastic offer of 4x receivers, full subscription for c.2,800 baht a month... that's a bargain in my book, 700 baht a receiver!

My experience with Transport Co. buses has generally been very good. Like Nakhon Chai Air they operate modern VIP buses, with the 24 seaters being the best of the best I believe. While it is too early to be sure, it is possible that it was just bad luck, something on the road, or perhaps a faulty tire.

Noticed more dtrays on Jomtien beach yesterday being 'encouraged' by a well meaning, if slightly deranged, woman. She was stopping every 50M or so dumping chicken/rice on the sidewalk for the strays......... and encouraging vermin such as rats..... the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Some of those dogs may well have been stolen pets. There was one such case on the Thai TV last month I believe.

And over 90% were almost certainly feral.

We had the same issue outside our village pub in Cambridgeshire. Apparently, one St Georges day some young west asian muslims drove past in an old car and screamed abuse at the pub and the St Georges flag. They were real angry to see it in the UK. Alot of local counsils in the UK now advise against flying our national flag as it offends our "Ethnic community"

Had a contrary experience on my last trip to Donnington Park. Belting up the A5 (IIRC) on our 'bikes' we had agreed to pull over for brekkie at the first 'greasy spoon'.

We spotted a greasy spoon where the guy who turned out to be the owner was out putting up the St George flag prior to opening for the morning trade.

Owner was a wee Paki and breakfast was excellent btw.
