MP Chuwit Kamolvisit, who has famously said he constantly had to pay off corrupt policemen when he ran massage parlours, last year claimed that an illegal Bangkok casino gave police Bt2 million a day to let it keep operating.
2 million baht/day from one casino? Isn't that a bit over the top, or am I being naive?

Quote: "According to the law, Pongsapat who quit the police force to run in the election has the right to be reinstated to his earlier post or a post equal to his earlier post if he does not win the election."
So does the police force have a bunch of these posts lying around, waiting for some looser to be reinstated, or do they create those posts on the fly when needed?

I want to raise the point about kids not having their hair cut and the teacher comes along with the classroom scissors and cuts a piece of hair of the kids in the classroom in front of the rest of the class.
Next time that happens to my kids I will press charges against the teacher concerned.
Better yet, go to class and cut off a piece of the teacher's hair in front of the students...

Surely JApanese Investigators know that all they have to do is liberally spread a substantial number of well endowed bribes to the appropriate offices ... unless this murderer has very high connections?
A male prostitute with very high connections...Yingluck?!?...surely not!

Jatuporn also proudly said there were delicate ceremonies and mysterious stories behind the transportation of such sacred items. For example, a rare set of sculptures of six Great Kings of Thailand made in Nakhon Si Thammarat were meant to be given to some other person before, but the engines of the vehicles did not work so the set was safely transported to his house.

This is not about raising service standards of cab drivers. No, I think someone saw the potential of making 12 million baht in 6 months in fines, and that's all there is to it.

I just love it when the police guy in charge always comes up with an explanation, trying to preempt any possible damage...and of course that explanation, as it will turn out, will be what had happened. These "police guys in charge are really smart, you know.
