I am from Belgium, 59 years old, so I still don't have "pension" now, but I am disabled from work and get the monthly equivalent of 54,000 to 56,000 THB depending on the rate, of course I have savings to complete this amount every month if I can and if allowed to just send 65,000 (minimum) Baht from my own bank account or my wise to my thai bank account.
For the moment, I have the 800,000 required but not for long enough,so I will do a visa run to meet the 60 days +15 days processing time for Non-O.
I would not like to leave the 800000 permanently and almost without interest on a savings or even fixed deposit account. So that's why I'm interested in the method of sending every month at least 65000 (if the rate is very good could I send for example 100,000 some months ? And then less than 65000 the next month or has it to be at least 65000 per month ? )
Is it enough to just transfer every month at least 65000 B, even if my allowance is less than that ? Do they not require in Jomtien an indemnity certification that would, in my case be around 680,000 B per year so under the 800,000 ?
Also if asked by immigration, can I just download this statement or should that be certified by the Belgian Embassy in Bkk ?
And last question, if we could have a mix of let's say 100,000 or maximum 200,000B Baht in money stuck on my thai book bank, then could I send the difference every month ?
In the case I would leave 200,000 B I guess I should have then to send every month (800,000-200,000)=600,000/12=50,000 B per month ?
Once again, I don't have pension yet, only monthly indemnity from the social security, and is sending from my bank account enough or do I need any other certification ?

What a hypocrisy ! Many men recorded and took plenty of pics for their collection... Nothing really sexy here, 'nothing new in Thailand., it has always been like that for all the concerts that I have seen or heart about in Thailand, a young girl dancing and singing is sexy by nature, nothing new, and in some other shows, singers or dancers are wayyy more sexy and suggestive, there are very sexy coyotees also , and by the way, why not offend at the overly sexy girls hunting customers or seducing guys in the disco's not only in Pattaya or Phuket but everywhere in Thailand including in Bkk. not to mention the go-go bars where they sometimes are topless or nude.. (and I forgot the ping-pong shows) 😉...!

Perhaps my logic is different, but I see a difference.
An engagement ring is direct to the bride (and admittedly is often wildly overdone). A sinsod is buying the woman. To me---no doubt culturally insensitive---it's no different than barfining a woman from an agogo, except it's a payment for many schtuppings, rather than just one.
As I noted in my earlier post, Tevye can sing TRADITION! until the
sick buffaloescows come home, but a sinsod is an admission that a woman is a commodity and you're paying for her companionship/sex. It's also a one-way street of cultural acceptance, demanding the groom see both the tradition of sinsod and the cultural peculiarity of 'face'.I would prefer investing in a "security" or securities than in a comodity ????

Some do... some don't.. It all depends on the individuals involved...
My general sense is it's becoming a somewhat less common thing, particularly among younger, modern thinking Thais....
But even when sinsod DOES occur, it's very common lately for the family to put up the big money for show at the ceremony, and then take it back after everyone's gone home... As I said above, thus face is satisfied.
show money-money-money...all the time...also in FB and Insta posts from many thai girls, proud to "show" how much they received from their(s) sponsor(s)...and so greedy to always try to take advantage and think all "farangs" are rich ! And what a hypocrit joke if it's only to show and later give back !
Show bank account statement then, like you have to do for visa in Thailand????
For many of us, it is a disgusting and turn-off old-fashioned custom.
12 years ago, we talked about that with my thai gf at the time and yes, she told me it's only "to show", but if it would happen, the parents that were also middle-class did not need it and would return everything back...I think return to their daughter...lol, but finally, 1 year later we broke up and I have never been married until now.
And yes, why marry? Just live together, less formalities, headaches, and costs !

Again another sign of Xenophoby! I don't think it's that way, and with dual pricing etc that they will attract more tourists.. on the contrary..
It makes me think at huge fine if you were smoking Electronic cigarette although I saw thais vaping almost every day.. Now they even sell canabis, not only CBD, but the whole canabis with THT in the food!
Before, it was a crime passible to prison to use that.. not so long ago in Thailand..!

This must have been the same proposal ...but they talk about 1000 B visa fee (?), strange that it costs 40 € in Belgium, and I think 35 € in France...(why also different prices ?)
In the past, to boost tourism, they have already done free 60 days tourist visa for a few months I remember.
-
I read on 7th July that due to inflation and increased prices of flights due to increased oil prices , "Thailand is reportedly considering a temporary fee exemption scheme for Visa on Arrival (VoA) and Tourist Visas throughout 2022 in order to revitalize the tourism industry after the Covid-19 pandemic."
I have to submit E-Visa here in Belgium to come end of this month and it is now 40 € for single entry (before 2019, price was 30€ by local consulate)
Anyone heard about this project from TAT ?
Is it going to happen thoses days, this month of August or has this roposal been refused ?

Get rid of the Thailand pas first, then leave the nightclubs and bars open until 4 am, last but not least make the price for wine again affordable.
Maybe after that you can think about visa extension.
Why to pût a closing time for nightclubs? I would say no closing time, freedom ! And propose 3 and 6 months visa+ extension 3 months for not more than 1900 baht ! Do not make any difference anymore for visa extension (30 days) if crossing border by land, by foot, cycle or plane !!
And stop, forbid the practice of dual pricing as a law, beginning by national parks , attractions etc !

And I read a few days ago or yesterday that they were considering extending closing time from midnight to 2 am !!
So why suddenly give this stupid order ?
Turists are fed up with those stupid restrictions...!

Improve it by getting rid of it.
and please get rid of those masks outside and on motorbike, they does not protect anything and anybody and are often placed under the nose!
If you want tourism resumes as before, follow some EU countries like Denmark, UK, France, and more are returning to a normal life like before covid! It's time to wake up come on! Covid has turned to inoffensive variants, less severe and less dangerous than the common flu..!

He should have waited in his hotel for one day.
Now he will most probably be deported and banned from entering Thailand for xx months/years?
What was supposed to be a holiday has turned out to be a nightmare just because he was impatient.
impatient ..?..or he had a fake test prior to departure (or paid to have it) and he knew he was infected !

I guess time will tell who is right.
I would like to see your "plenty of sources", I just heard or read about conclusions from Australian, South-Africanand a UK research, even the OMS and Fauci said omicron is less deadly, less agresive...And never I read 70x more conagious, I heard 3x more contagious...70x makes casi non-sense ...

Omicron will rip through Thailand worse than any previous variant.
If you can sell your bar today...sell it.
No, I don't agree. It's already known and confirmed by now than "Omicron" , although spreads about 3x faster , is much less dangerous and less able to send people in hospital in ICU or to death though...so, if clever and logic (but are they ...;- ?) , they shoud reinstall the test and go procedure quickly, also, the incubation of the omicron is muc shorter than the previous variants (sometimes just a few days), and is not worse on vaccinating people than a cold of a few days....

Why wait until October?
yes this is very late. If we are vaccinated and have a négative test, plus a good medical insurance, there is absolutely no risks for thai population, only benefits ! I don't understand what they are so affraid of for a disease that finally kills less than the suicides and road accidents occurring every day in Thailand !!

This is just an alternative quarantine but very very expensive starting with the air fares which are extortionate but if you have the money better than being confined to hotel room in Bangkok.
Better to fly to Mexico, or Domenican Republic, etc
