  1. Reminds me of when I had a/c units installed at my house. I noticed they didn't run ground wires. When I asked why, they said "No need. Electricity different in Thailand". I insisted they ground the units. With the amount of rainfall and lightning they get here, I was astounded at their ignorance.
  2. The only correct info on this thread is from Dr. Jack. Everyone else, please refrain from posting when you don't know what you're talking about.
  3. I wasted the most time reading this post.
  4. The only part I agree with is "cannabis must be of high quality."
  5. Return policies in Thailand are vastly different from the West. You have to be polite but firm. If that doesn't work, raise holy hell. I bought a convection oven at Global. The salesman supposedly checked it out in the backroom. When taking it to my car, I could hear broken glass inside. Went back in, they opened it and found the bulb was broken. Told me I would have to wait 2 weeks for a refund to be issued. Calmly explained I never got out of the parking lot. Further more, I used a credit card so the transaction could be cancelled. Called out manager after manager, until I finally lost it and yelled, "Look. I just bought this damn thing 10 minutes ago. If you don't know how to void a sale, I'll show you. But I'm not leaving." Suddenly, the tide changed. They voided the sale and gave me a bunch of junk promo items to make up for the trouble. The standard advice to farangs is 'keep cool' 'don't raise your voice' etc. And I agree. Until you can see they are screwing with you.
  6. You can't fairly compare a Mercedes to a Toyota. And you can't compare top shelf flowers to brickweed. The difference in quality demands a difference in cost that many of us are willing to pay.
  7. Thailand should be happy to have me. I follow all the rules, am polite and respectful, and buy a hell of a lot more than noodle soup.
  8. Meanwhile, the CDC in the US has elevated Thailand to the highest risk level 4, with the advice "avoid travel to Thailand". What the ****??
  9. In the US, Rottweilers are restricted or even banned in some cities with good reason. Guys who choose a dangerous and unpredictable breed like Rottweilers and Pit Bulls are merely compensating for their micro penis.
  10. I don't know, but there seems to be some kind of conflict when using a computer or phone. For example, I have shopped Lazada for years using a credit card with no problems. Suddenly, last month I started getting a bank authorization rejection for no reason which still persists. However, if I use their mobile app on my phone I can charge to my card without issue. Same card, same items, different result. What gives?
  11. After many attempts to do the 90 day report online during the past couple years, I was always rejected with no explanation. Asking my local office was no use; they didn't know why it wouldn't work. Then last December the new system was introduced. I tried again, and glory be, it worked. A couple days ago, I received an email saying it was due again. I went online again, and holy smoke, it worked for the second time. I am amazed and delighted. They seem to have gone from incompetent to highly efficient. The reminder email was a nice surprise, and the procedure worked flawlessly with my receipt returned the same day. I can forgive and forget all the prior frustration, and hope this will continue to be standard. They get a pat on the back and an "atta boy" from me.
  12. This is a great idea. I wish there were more like it. In the US, going to a "dog park" on the weekend was a lot of fun for the dogs and their owners.
  13. What a ridiculous comment. It's not Songkran, and he poured a beer on her head, not water.
  14. She is soaking wet. I would call that an assault. She should have kicked the sh*t out of him.
