  1. I have lived here for over 5 years. I moved into my current apartment about 2 years ago. It had a ceramic/charcoal filter fitted under the sink with it's own tap.

I have been drinking this water ever since with no ill effects. I clean the filter reservoir out every 6 months, and replaced the filter a few weeks ago.

  2. I say that being an adult gay man certainly does give me an advantage in Thailand and everywhere else where homosexuality is not condemned. Men like sex :)

I think it's more likely that men don't use sex as a bargaining chip like a lot of women do. Sex is great - the only problem is organised religion.

Keep God out of the bedroom.

  3. I don`t know why anybody would Not want to fly Thai airways, apart from the Hong Kong route which is staffed by Chinese , Thai Airways is head and shoulders above any other airline coming in and out of Thailand... service is good , food is great , and economy is almost as good as business class on similar priced airlines.. obviously this person does not fly very often and does not know what he is talking about....Yawn... some people ...

This must be a joke post - Thai airways is absolute rubbish! Perhaps you are the one who hasn't flown with enough other airlines to make a comparison.

    Old aircraft.

    Crap food.

Sky waiters who think they are more HiSo than the passengers and have a terrible attitude.

And I have been flying very regularly to Thailand for the last 10 years, with lots of different airlines.

Currently the best - Etihad by a considerable margin. (Business class I should add).

  4. "It will not last forever, we look back at this juncture and lament that then was the time to buy!"

Time to buy what? Now is not the time to buy anything in Thailand - don't you read the news? There is an ill wind blowing, with potential civil war in the offering.

You can buy - I wouldn't think of making any investment in LOS, at least until the succession has been successfully finalised and the political situation sorted out.

  5. Frankly, if it is really the culture here for families to 'sell' their daughters into marriage - then why get married?

I really don't understand the conundrum. Marriage is so old fashioned anyway, these days - particularly in the West - it's simply a device for some women to engineer a future expensive divorce.

Get real guys - if you are getting what you want already, why pay more than it's already costing you?

  6. The bar is very low to be the "best" Mexican in Pattaya; let's see if they can do that. I agree the location is not encouraging and who needs a yuppie Tequila bar anyway? What we need is some more authentic places such as Bangkok has now (Monitas and T y S, even Sunrise would be a huge step forward here).

Well if the margaritas are as good as the one's I drink in Coyote (Silom) there's probably a market! Best I've ever had - although my experience is limited!

  7. Think hard about visiting Singapore. The government there had an opportunity last year to repeal the anti-homosexual laws, and chose not to.

On that basis I will not visit Singapore again, since they are an active anti-gay Country, who choose to continue to oppress gay people.

Do they deserve your hard earned money?

  8. I used to go to college with a guy from Kenya who told me categorically that there was not one single homosexual in Kenya. Every last person there was streaight.

Now, I know that isn't true.

I had an Afro-Caribbean plasterer working for me in London years ago, who categorically denied that there were any black gays in London! He was married with 8 children (4 kids with his wife, 4 kids with 2 other women). Didn't support any of them, left that to the state, and didn't have a problem about that either. He lasted a week, then had enough money to drink and smoke weed until he ran out.

    Never saw him again.

  9. A love Mexican food, regardless of how it is categorised. My choice of Mex restaurant in Bangkok is Coyote on Soi Convent in the Silom area. I understand it is run by a British guy, and has Thai chefs - but that doesn't detract from the excellent food. I spent a lot of time in Mexico in the 1980's, so I think I know good mex.

I did once wander into another mex place on the corner of Pat Pong, I think it was called Patties or something. Anyway I didn't stay long.

Mexican food has to be international, since it's formulation has so many different origins and influences. Anybody else got a favourite mex I should be trying out? :)
